  1. Red is very hard to colour match for if you are ever in an accident. Boss has a Red XR8 that has been crashed about 6 times, and every single panel has a different shade of red, none of the panel beaters can match the original colour.
  2. Baileys Automatics in Balcatta, they have been building touch BTRs for years.
  3. Excellent story, and its a positive that you were caught as from this experience you have gained a great respect for your life, for your vehicle and for the persons that surround you. As above with Mat, I have been in the same situation, whereby racing many years ago, I accepted responsibility, followed all the instructions of the officer and was lucky that the other person involved went off his face, the tension of being an idiot on a public road was removed and the multiple officers were now focused on settling down the other individual. Jail time is a bit full on for a driving offence, even with stupid speeds involved, however I believe it is granted in the case of damage to property or injury/death of a person. Your lucky and your a smarter man for it, well done with the honesty

    Ba/f Brembo Install

Oops, wrote 'rotor' in the title, should have been caliper, my bad...
  6. Hey all, I've just fitted up front and rear 4 pot brembos to my BA XR6t, and the fronts go on without issue, however what is the configuration of the rear, does the bleeder face up or down? There is an arrow on the caliper, on the front the arrow points down and the bleeder is up the top, on the rear the arrow points up with the bleeder up the top. Hope someone can help. Ryan
  7. Guess you didn't read the whole topic ey 'Seduced'... Read again, he's come in strong, so I've correct him. Maybe you should take your own advice... Get over yourself and move on ey
  8. I don't know how to get over myself, I'm not a gymnist! *Baby Voice* Buuuuuuutttttttttttt he started ittttttttttttttttttt

    What To Do..

You are bonkers if you go from an 07 BF XR6T to an 05 BF F6 for 15k swap over. If you have a base model BF, for 15k you could easily go up to 350rwkw, fit custom leather interior, big brakes, big wheels, good suspension and have a car that will tromp the stock F6.
  12. Good to settle that one, and I hope one day you are able to comprehend the difference between a diesel engine and a petrol engine and how diesels do not produce a measurable scale of vacuum.
  13. Not picking fights at all, people come on here for help and then BAM! get abused for asking a question that they want clarified. PHANTM is really good for arguing points that he doesn't know about... That is my only argument, and am glad the OP got the result he was after.
  14. Nice try to save yourself, don't understand how things work so find a means to work around what you have miss understood! You still don't comprehend how it works at all, the drawing of air is not under vaccum. Your argument is that the intake stroke is under vacuum, it is quite clearly not. Bloody hell, stop arguing a point that you don't understand!
  15. Well, considering your first quote was from wikipedia, and I have seen the same wiki, you will have noted from that wiki how a diesel engine works with relation to intake. I will quote it, just in case you missed it. "The manifold is connected directly to the air intake and the only suction created is that caused by the descending piston with no venturi to increase it, and the engine power is controlled by varying the amount of fuel that is injected into the cylinder by a fuel injection system. This assists in making diesels much more efficient than petrol engines." Now isn't that what I said originally, the intake is controlled by the fuel pump, the more diesel you inject, the greater the bang, rev increase, air is drawn into the engine. Now if you would like to learn even more about Diesels, which are vastly different from Petrol engines, please go to another much more informative wiki http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Diesel_engine Enjoy your reading. Look up further information about manifold vacuum as that is what you are referring to and at the moment don't quite comprehend.
  16. The word may, indicates there is a possibility that the OP has a clue, and he suggests that he does have knowledge with his previous vehicles. Back to school for you again, this time its English class' instead of automotive class' See you in a month when you reply with research, a la 'Diesel Whistle Thread' LMAO
  17. How long did you spend researching this, LMAO! You just contradicted your own post. You found an article that potentially supports your claim for a diesel having vacuum, however the article informs that should vacuum be required a butterfly will be installed, this will howevre show minimal results of vacuum and will reduce engine efficeincy. However at the beginning of your post, you said "Just because there's no butterfly doesn't mean there's no vacuum." So which one is it, a diesel has vacuum all the time, or a diesel only has a tiny amount of vacuum when a butterfly is installed? Do you know how any engines work? I would recommend that you sit down with a diesel mechanic so that you can learn more.
  18. Your pretty quick to jump down peoples throats mate! The little high revving beasts that he MAY have had in the past would have enjoyed the thinner oil, so he's coming with that knowledge on board... Its already been proved that you have a lack of knowledge about automobilia, so why not ease up a bit...
  19. You guys still watch the V8's?? With all the sponsor logos plastered over the cars, you can't hardly tell which car is which... Win on Sunday, give a toss on Monday
  20. Build a car that competes with the caterham for less than 100k then, engineer it, and drive it on the street and track. Good luck!
  21. white, bf, 6speed, 3yrs old, high kms... its not an ex-cop? might of had a hard previous life... Give it a service before you jump at a rebuild.
  22. Caterham price is spot on, your not going to find too many cars that will out accelerate a supercar, and run rings around them on the track aswell as cost a quarter of the price.
  23. LMAO My point exactly In terms of 100% accuracy, does it really matter that you have 6-10L left in the tank? Do people feel ripped off that they cannot access that 6-10L of fuel? Because if you bought the car with any fuel in the tank, you will have never paid for that amount you cant use, so your not at any financial loss...
  24. I think our expectations of a base model with fruit falcon are too high. Yeh I agree that 20% is a fair old chunk, but even my German engineered Fiesta has a 15% margin when empty. I would raise my ebrows moreso if my advertised 68L tank required 85L to fill when/if the tank was drained for whatever reason. Whereas if I can only fit 58L into my 68L tank whenever I had to fill, it wouldnt phase me one bit... That last couple of L of fuel is going to have a heap of floaties in it, and I certainly wouldnt want to be sucking that sh*t through the system, sure its filtered, but why bother with the potential risk? This would be something that would give me the sh*ts on a 200k car, but on your average 60k diet it's not something that you need to put your car into the workshop time and time again for.
  25. Since when has having more fuel in the tank than what can be picked up a new topic? Fuel tanks are designed to have a safety margin in them, it is to prevent the pickup of dirt that is left in the tank, and the potential to keep the pump cool. I have 290L worth of fuel capacity in my Landcruiser, and can use 270L of it. I had 150L capacity in my pajero and could only use 132L I think you've been smacking your head against that brick wall too often! Why would you expect to be able to use the full amount of fuel as advertised as maximum capacity?
