Being a phoon, he might have brembos... In which case I can relate, I need only drive down the street and my wheels are speckled with brake dust, give it 20kms and they are all powdery, give it a week and my silver rims look like dark argents...

What was to the left, straddle the rut... No way was that a 6 foot hole on the other side, you'd have rolled back on the roof! Pictures never show what is going on. I'm 195cm tall, my Landcruiser is 215cm tall, if it was in a huge hole like what you describe, I'd be picking my face up off the window! Ex-Pajero owner here too. Great car in the NJ/K/L model, NM/P crap, NS/T much better. Oh well, keep the shiny side up, going to need it with those lines.

Ruts dont cause you to do that, independent suspension all round and driving the wrong line causes that.

As said earlier, your towbar is to blame for that amout of damage. Rails crumpled as expected, but the weight of the towbar has bent them even more so and the energy has been forced through the body. I got shunted in the rear on the mitchell fwy, boot was lifted like yours, light popped out like yours, panels were all sweet, bumped was cracked but in one piece, tyre absorbed the energy in my case. Car that shunted me was written off and looked worse than the fiesta, my car came back as new... Good luck getting it done anytime soon, especially with the storm damage, will be lucky to get it in!

What Walbro Issues Have You Had?
South replied to nathen's topic in Fuel System & Induction Workshop
I dont know if mine is playing up, it was bought from RAP1D so it is the real deal. Its been in for a few months, but I don't drive the car often, until now as my company car got raped by the Perth storm... anyways whilst idling it will whine like it usually does, then after a moment the pitch will change lower as if its getting less power. Even does this when driving along slowly and you can hear the pump. Could be normal, might not be. Its literally only done 1000km's -
If they did a wagon that looked like the above Blue XR? then they would sell like hot cakes, look at the Late model camira SS and Bogan special Wagon, they are everywhere, and starting to see a heap of the HSV variant! Stupid Ford!

Get some high temp grey paint and paint over the gold. That's what I did...

I work in Osb Park too, company car is smashed to pieces, all but the doors are rooted. Boss' WRX will be written off, every panel is smashed. Office is flooded, new equipment is wet, UPS is under water LOL Will go to barbs in the morning and pick up a hail damaged Quatraporte :D

Cant Fit 4" Nizpro Airbox ... Help
South replied to icer's topic in Fuel System & Induction Workshop
If these sheet metal plenums were selling for sub 1k they would be flying out the door, there wouldnt be enough aluminium available to produce the demand for them! At the ~$1500 mark they are sold and fitted few and far between. Drop the prices, increase sales, increase revenue, increase customer satisfaction. I would love a kit that had a battery location CAI, with a UBP to TB pipe, like what is trying to be achieved here. I don't need more piping by going to 'stage 2' intercooler that makes the engine bay more cluttered than it already is... -
I see your Rangie, and raise you a HDJ80R Landcruiser 115k on the clock, 1HD-FT Safari Intercooled and 3" Exhaust approx 170+kw 550+Nm 5spd Manual 3" Lift 305/70/16 Cooper STT Front & Middle Locked, Rear modified LSD Bar work, Warn winch, rear dual carrier HID lights 35w Low, 55w High, 55w Spot On-board Air with tank 300L of fuel Rear draws I'll be pulling you out when you get bogged on slipery grass She's 40 grand though

Looks how thin the lip of the rim is! Surprised its not happened before on a perfectly smooth bit of road. Wider tyre would have absorbed most of the pothole too. That's a 9" rim yeh, 255 or 275 tyre on the rear as its a deeper dish by the look of it. Oh well, get some real rims with the payout.

Really, all its protecting is 5% of the front end and over time it will flex and rub on the bonnet and scratch your paint more than a few chips would...

Running The Stock Tune With 12Psi Actuator And Wastegate/Flapper Mod
South replied to ravenhard's topic in Turbo Workshop
I do realise they are very mild, however the job of the upgraded actuator is to achieve higher levels of boost (the preload on the actuator is higher, that's all really), and is the port not increased to allow more stable boost levels rather than spiking? It is all going to be controlled by the stock boost controller, so it doesn't matter if you have a higher rated actuator. That's my understanding of it, but I've been wrong before -
Running The Stock Tune With 12Psi Actuator And Wastegate/Flapper Mod
South replied to ravenhard's topic in Turbo Workshop
Mine is untuned and boosts to 5.5psi and I've seen it spike and hold for a count of 2 to 9psi on gear change (auto) and its never gone into limp. I have hot, cold and ubp piping upgrade, F6 cooler and F6 dual intake. Limp is a myth, who has experienced it? -
It is as easy as you described it, it gets even easier when you have lowered springs in there, SSL's literally fall out when you jack up the car! Chop the bumpstop if it ends up touching, just take the first section off.

I don't drive unless I have a couple of pints in my belly... of water that is. Anyone that says they haven't had a couple and driven is full of it, unless of course they don't drink alcohol what so ever.

You hinting that you are on your last legs?

Ah, the Fiesta has gone up in price. Should get a demo for 15k or so... discountnewcars can get it for 18k new. The WQ is a sweet little car, I would buy one second hand and be happier than with a new Getz
-
I would go straight to Ford and buy a Fiesta. Far superior car to the crapola Getz and is only a grand or two more expensive (still under budget). Fiesta iz zippy, economical and you can throw it into any car space. Getz is gutless so you have to give it stick to move and uses more fuel than the Fiesta and it utter sh*te inside and out. I've had both as company cars...

I'm with you PAH, although the XCAL is a brilliant product and has allowed for the 'perfect' tune, its mind boggling that consumers have to purchase a box that costs more (sometimes) than the actual tune itself that 95% of the time sits in the shed doing nothing. Using it to read codes is handy, but if the car was tuned correctly then there should be no codes, and if a sensor has died, that's why you pay a mechanic to read the code and replace the faulty part... Oh well, its another good source for revenue for companies, so that they can make further advancements... When other tuning products improve, I'm sure we will see more and more tuners moving across, simply to stay competetive...

Dark Argent 19S - Which Of These Tyres Are Better
South replied to hazaturbo's topic in Wheels and Tyres
235 do not suit a 19x8 at all, they pull the tyre in and expose the rim to damage, 10mm might not sound like much, but it makes a difference to protection. LOL at suggestion of noticing a difference in gearing, not on such a small change with a torquey engine. -
Does no one at all make these? Surely there is somewhat of a market for them?
-
Evening, Does anyone sell a battery tray to relocate to the factory airbox location? I'm keen on the APS setup, but they don't sell items alone, just as a kit. I will never replace my stock plenum, so I want something to fill that void. cheers

HAHAHA, I'm not laughing at the commodore, but laughing at myself... When I opened the image, I tried to click the 2nd picture on the ebay page, and ofcourse its not going to work Think I should go back to bed
