  1. Ajax is abrasive, might aswell drop a bottle of salt in while your at it
  2. So why should I use them, you haven't answered your own question, you have merely reiterated the product blurb. You do understand that oils contain detergants and friction modifiers out of the bottle. These are same products that Nulon are trying to sell, that are not necessary to purchase. Gear oils, transmission fluids, power steering fluids have many different variations of the one product. Mitsubishi for example 'engineered' a particular gear oil with Castrol specifically for there products, it can be identified with a '-M' From an engineering perspective why do I need to go to the lengths of using additional products, what am I to gain by doing so?
  3. There is absolutely no need to start and idle your car should you only be driving it once a week. You will glaze the bores with it just sitting there idling cold and shutting down luke warm. Start it up when you want to drive and and do as you normally would. We are talking about modern cars and modern technology... If you are talking months of no drive time, then all you need to do is disconnect the battery and keep it on trickle, and walk away. Look at all the cars that sit in holding yards for ages, they dont have anything done to them, then someone comes along, turns it over and delivers it to its new owner.
  4. Call the dealer you bought it from, and speak with the Service Manager. A lot of the dealers will run through things with you for what can and cannot be modified within the realm of your warranty. Things like suspension, if you replace shocks, springs, swaybars and bushes then they wont warrant as they are obviously no longer Ford parts, other suspension parts that remain original will most likely be warranted. The best way to look at a warranty, is that its there for piece of mind if you want to just drive you car from A - B and not change a thing on it. If you choose to modify your vehicle then you pretty much accept all responsibilty for any breakages. Your changing your vehicle for your benefit, but outside the scope of the original packages 'ability' Best speak with the guys you bought it from. Just ask what you can and cannot do, dont tell them what you have already done, tell them that you would like to do what you have already done.
  5. that's ok, the pleasure is all mine... I still drive my Fairmont, as I have not found a decent XR6t in Perth for sale yet... Enjoy your w.end champ
  6. They dont suit the colour of the car, and belong more so on a Late model camira or a rice rocket. If you keep them, atleast get massive brakes under it too. It was a pleasure getting stuck into it, drove exceptionally well with the low profile tyres, if it had leather I would of snapped it up minus the rims.
  7. HA! nice car, I took that for a thrash from Lynford They took the rims off the phantom and put them on your one. Hope you didnt ask them to do that, as those rims are absolutely shocking! Your car has a very nice induction note!
  8. All, I am looking for different companies who provide car freight/logistics/shipping however you wish to refer to it from east to west. I have found a few mobs, and they are all asking around $1300, just wondering if anyone else has done the same locations and if its been any cheaper? For $1300 I could fly there and drive back and have change and enjoy a wonderfull trip. Cheers
  9. Sitebot = sponsorship = operational costs paid + profit
  10. Although your postively in the right, you will be paying for contesting it, can you afford to contest it to the full, or is it cheaper to cop it on the chin?
  11. If its a white chalky type stain, then you have a coolant leak... the overflow hose doesnt blow down there does it? If no, take the radiator out and get a pressure test done on it.
  12. Hey all, Just wondering if anyone has any sound clips or videos of the Phase III setup. In-car, drive-by, stationary, doing a skid... the more the better Cheers South

    Brake Lines

DIY on the weekend, go to supercheap and buy a brake bleeder kit, then buy some good brake fluid (not oil ) Basic maintenance skills required only
  14. XF, where'd you pick up the car mate, is it an auto or manual? Better not be the one that I'm looking at buying :(
  15. The battery has most likely dropped a cell. When a battery is on its way out, or has dropped a cell, the electronics in the car start to play up, especially relays, central locking and the like. I wouldnt be all that worried, just put in a new battery and it should be fine. Failing that, have a leccy look into it.
  16. Hi All, I'm about to take the plunge and buy a BF XR6t, I am tossing up between auto n manual, I like how they both feel and either one would suit me. However, I need YOU to make up my mind, what makes the manual better than the auto and what makes the auto better than the manual. Please note, that either one will be modified to join the 300+ club Cheers South
  17. They are not referred to as extractors in a turbo configuration, it is known as an exhaust manifold, of which there are multiple designs. There job is not to extractor the waste, rather its designed to remove the waste efficiently under pressure.
