  3. That is probably the most used drive in Perth, nothing to do, hit up the Hillarys to Fremantle cruise... and it's boring as bat poo these days. Back in the day it would take you the whole day, get caught up in clouds of smoke, drunken yobos and chicks galour at scabs, no smoke at cott but more drunkeness and chicks... Now its a 30min drive and ya done. Video reminds me why my money goes into the 4by instead of my 'turbs'
  4. What about shocks only? To WA?
  5. Brembos on the steet aren't going to be of great benefit over the factory fitted brakes, especially for a car doing moderately low speeds. I have 4 pots all around and for normal stop start there is no difference to what I had with factory brakes. If I brake hard there is a marginal improvement, if its continous hard braking (race track) then there is a significant improvement. Pads and Rotors cost significantly more aswell, they don't last any longer, usually less. So you have increased your running costs with larger brakes and larger tyres...
  6. I would spend coin on the EL instead of 'upgrading'... different if you were going to an XR6t... but the EL with good suspension, tyres and a bit of a tickled engine will be much nicer to drive than the BA. Unless ofcourse your EL is clapped out and will cost 10-15k to tidy up...
  7. Was going to say that too, clearly that rod has super heated and distorted and then gone kaboom.
  8. I enjoy all the realty lifestyle shows Coal Black Gold Gold Rush Alaska Flying Wild Alaska Ice Pilots NWT Ice Road Truckers They are all becoming main stream now though, makes my job look easy for what labourers have to do.
  9. I drove one during the week, was ready to off load the XR6t then and there. Short 6 speed with plenty of torque makes it feel more powerful than it is. Very comfortable front seats, gear stick was in a crap spot but I'm 6'4 with long arms. Looks to have a massive boot also. XR5 is 9k-14k cheaper depending on the spec level, so they are in a different category I would say...
  10. If you can't afford the couple of K for the LMI, how you going to afford random issues with your house, A/C dies, Hot Water System dies etc. Good to have parents that help, but it's good to give back by letting them be. If you miss a payment, its on them... Oh well, such is life ey
  11. Don't think so, the millions will be long gone before that happens!!! I will return the favour to my family, not passing on sh*t! Buy what they need, support them with an education and if they come begging help, otherwise leave me in peace If you need a guarantor for any loan, you can't afford whatever it is your buying.
  12. I would recommend against using parents as guarantor, they have done enough in life to support themselves and family. Stand on your own two feet and let them live the rest of their lives in peace. If they do and you stuff up, then they are in the poo
  13. If you have to look at the avenues, then you can't keep it. Sell car, buy a bunky, buy house, smash the loan, don't use equity in house for toys, save for new car or novated lease with job if applicable.
  14. That's pretty stupid, being pissed off you have your son so you can't do anything. Absolutley beyond belief!
  15. Comment, Comment, Comment! Bare minimum explanation of anti-lag. Fuel is injected late, raw fuel is then dumped into a stinking hot turbo, ignites, spools turbo, gets full boost and murders your turbo.
  16. It's nothing like antilag Rusty.
  17. That's more kms than I have done in mine in the last 6 months
  18. Would mean driving my car, can't be mean like that, shes too clean, must stay undercover!
  19. I got a GoPro
  20. Unopened means using the factory specified parts for your engine as it rolled off the floor. So FPV valve springs in an XR6 is opened, the later model XR6 valve springs in an early model XR6 is opened. Later model BF bottom end in a BA is opened, etc etc. It's the same as adding another 100hp using a different shootout mode on the dyno, it's just not cricket! That's my opinion anyway...
  21. For tyres, the only product to use is Auto Glym, nothing comes within a mile of it. Wash mud covered tyres off (4x4), that are still filthy, spray with product and tyre is black and shiny for weeks, looks newer than new. Costs a bomb, but is worth every penny. All of there products are awesome, for the readily available off the shelf products, Auto Glym wins hands down.
  22. Valve Springs = opened, even if they are 'just' FPV springs.
  23. Not worth the hassle at all. Unless you have insurance do not go near business' as you will loose everything if one little thing goes horribly wrong. Doing works for friends and family always ends up with you going far far above and beyond and getting paid very little for it. If you're not already in outsourced IT, go find a job in that area, discuss with the owner your thoughts on being a partner in the next 2yrs and work your way toward that. If not that, then work your way toward profit sharing etc. Work off someone elses success. I had the opportunity to start my own IT business and would have easily turned over 250k in the first year, but was not worth the stress in my life. Working non stop and being at the mercy of clients is far from fun, good to be able to throw your hands up and say F it at 5pm and go home to rest with no worries :D
  24. They are genuine responses. You do not baby brand new engines, you don't have to go fast go slow go fast go slow. Things have come a long way since those days. No difference between giving it stick now and in a few months, dropping 3rd isn't hooning either
  25. Already run in by Ford, then its definately run in by the pre-delivery thrash around the block by the youngest worker in the shop, then you get the keys. Grab the keys from Ford, warm it up whilst you look around it and admire, then drop 3rd down the street.
