  1. Yeah. It's all personal preference. Personally I couldn't live without the better AF system, faster frame rate and 3 custom setups on the 7D. If the 5D MkIII inherits those then I may be tempted.
  2. The 17-55mm is the better than the 15-85mm. I always get those 2 mixed up. The 17-55 is f/2.8 across the entire focal length range. I don't know how much it is, but I'd guess it's considerably more. Another thing to consider is that all the lenses you mentioned are EF-S mount. So if you ever upgrade to a full frame camera they won't fit. Not that a crop sensor is a bad thing. I've used both and prefer my 7D over the 5D MkII because of the tighter FOV. That comes in handy for macro and wildlife where you want to get as close as possible.
  3. Forget the battery grip and forget the screen protector. When you select something from DWI all those options are turned on. You won't need all the extras. How much is the 18-55? You could get some L series glass in the form of a 24-105 IS. Great walk around lens with a useful focal range. If you want something wider then add the Canon 10-22mm. The 50mm f1.8 II is a great value lens. It's sharp as a tack and cheap as chips. Sigma have serious quality control issues. If you want to buy Sigma then go to a store and make sure it's a good copy before buying it. Too many hassles buying those on grey import. I only buy Canon lenses. I've got a range which covers 10-400mm including a macro. Never had a quality issue with any of my gear. As for what focal length is best for you really depends on the subject matter you see yourself photographing. I have a wide variety of interests hence the big focal range. I use Lightroom for cataloging and editing. I very rarely use Photoshop. I hate sitting at the PC for ages editing photos.
  4. 15-85 for sure. Have a look at DWI. I'll bet they'll be cheaper than the place you've looked at. Purchase with PayPal for added security.
  5. Thanks mate. We'll do the photo shoot around the end of this month. Does that suit you?
  6. That has now also been fixed.
  7. Clicking on the time stamp as show in the attached pic will take you to the last post...
  8. All the posts are still here. I've just changed it so more posts are displayed per page.
  9. No the old Classifieds add-on isn't supported any more. We've changed to a much better version. The down side to that is that all of the old content is unusable.
  10. From memory that one is a spare so the bluetooth phone kit can also be installed. Didn't it come with instructions? No behind the fuse box panel. Behind the fuse box all together. Get a torch and stick you head in under the dash looking up behind everything.
  11. Because he wants to listen to his iPod music while fitting a new cooler?
  12. For a BA/BF? The AUX boosted kit? If you answer yes to both those questions then the ICC doesn't come out. Only the tissue box holder. The booster box sticks up behind the dash below your fog light switch on the LHS of the steering column.
  13. You can drive it around. You just can't give it heaps. And... Facebook - Photos By Adam Lee

Nah. I couldn't justify that on my car. Lenses last a lifetime so I don't mind spending a bit extra for the top shelf items and they hold value really well too, not that I'll be selling anytime soon. I don't really need much more now. The only big $ items I could see myself getting at some stage would be a strobe setup more powerful than my speedlites and a camera body update. I don't think it's an unusual amount of money. I'm sure most of these guys have spent more than that on their cars, jet skis, motor bikes, boats etc etc. If it makes you happy and your priorities are taken care of first then I say go for it!
  15. Just like his boost curves.
  16. It's a MkII of a current model. Did anyone really expect it to be visually very different? I'm keen to see what the direct injection Ecoboost is like. It's about time the technology levels in the Falcon caught up with the times.
  17. Dammit Gary! I always forget how little hair I have until you post cruise photos.

    Other Hobbies?

Photography for me. I got a DSLR 2 years ago and the bug has bitten me quite hard. I've somehow managed to collect a pretty decent amount of gear in that time. I enjoy it because there's always something new to try and learn with there being so many different types of photography. This is also my biggest problem. I want to give everything a try!
