  1. Sounds like the Cactus triggers are a simple trigger, ie: they can't send/receive ETTL data and control flash power etc. Rechargeable batteries for sure! Good ones too. Not supermarket off the shelf items. Do you understand the relationship between shutter speed, aperture, ISO, flash power and flash to subject distance? It's still something I need to spend a lot more time practicing.
  2. Ok. I'm away until Friday for work, but I'll make some enquiries. Last time I went to a small group day like that we just organised to run it along side one of the test and tune days.
  3. Could always run a heap of test runs and then have a DYO competition to level the field out. Then anyone has a chance of winning.
  4. Why don't you all take it to the track? Or is a time slip too definitive for you? Group event at Heathcote perhaps?
  5. Nice! Are they wireless triggers or can you control everything through the system? I gave Motocross a crack yesterday. I'm pretty happy with these...
  6. Sorry... Was looking for the cruise thread, but must have clicked on VIC chat instead.
  7. That's ok Pazzo. I've seen my fair share of boobie pics and none of them have featured you, so I don't consider myself as having missed out.
  8. RRP is reported at $4399AUD. $3499 in the US. I'd like to hear the explanation for that. Pazzo, it doesn't surprise me you've got a lot of photos of yourself.
  9. Canon 5D MkIII was announced yesterday and it looks quite good. AF system from the 1DX with the metering system from the 7D, a reasonable 6fps and ISO performance that betters the MkII which was already very good. It might be time to start saving...
  10. You know what looks worse than a car with DRL's... A car with only one DRL working.
  11. Do you mean if they were light painted? If so, then black or this one (can't think of it's name)... White is easy. I can do that with my eyes closed. :biglaugh:
  12. Really? Which post gave it away...
  13. Sure did. Along with about 120 others.
  14. Ok... 115 posts down the sh*tter! This thread has a purpose. Stick to it. Use the OT thread for all the other stuff. For the record I did see where the 'whore' line started being thrown around and it wasn't from Fluff. I'm not saying she was innocent in it all but she certainly didn't start all that crap. It seems to me that she can't make a normal post without someone making some stupid comment towards her. You're all adults, yet when a female member is around it's like being in high school with a bunch of kids all over again.
  15. Digital artists are a whole other ball game really. Not anything like photography. I'd guess a hell of a lot of hours go into the digital designs.
  16. That's not stealing a photo. That's just plain strange!
  17. The © doesn't matter. If you took the photo then you own it. Doesn't matter if you put something on it or leave it blank. If you're that paranoid about someone using the photo then just use a huge watermark with a low opacity. Set up the metadata properly too so your info is embedded into the file properties. At the end of the day if someone wants your photo bad enough they'll get it. Don't even need to crop a lot of watermarks off with what software and a bit of skill can do these days.
  18. Worm looks like he's changed his. Must be going into business... Proslickpics Just use your name and ditch the ©
  19. Copyright is automatic in Australia. You don't have to apply for it.
  20. Oh. I think there's some automatic word filtering at play there.
  21. Why did you post that!? I better have a look what's on offer.
  22. Not having a shot at you mate. It's just an overall opinion. Everyone was a bad photographer at some stage. The ones that are bad and claim to be good annoy me. Nothing wrong with getting recognition either. I watermark mine for the same reason. It's in the file data, but a lot of people would never look there for the info, so I put my name on it so it's easy for people to see who took the photo. I just use my name. I'm not pretending to be something I'm not.
  23. Yeah. I kind of agree. There's a lot of people trying to do this type of photography. Results are varied, but everyone seems to like every shot anyway. Lol! I think there's even more people doing daytime stuff that isn't anything special. I've seen a few shoots where the results weren't anything special. They were really just snapshots of cars yet they were promoting themselves as a business and as a professional. Kind of sh*ts me really. I've never claimed to be any more than an amateur. I do a few things pretty well and in some cases I get paid for that. I certainly don't call myself a professional. The perception seems to be that because someone has a DSLR they're a pro and can create something special. That perception is is on both sides. Camera owners and people looking to get photos. Could I do daytime stuff? I'd certainly give it a go. Would it be anything special? Probably not, but I'm happy to admit that which is far more than most hacks with a camera (like me) would admit. /end rant.
