  1. Rio Tinto have 6000 jobs up for grabs. Look into what's on offer there.
  2. I think the Ecoboost will be a better drive than the current I6 engine.
  3. Suspended members probably shouldn't draw attention to themselves. Multiple accounts is against the rules, so turbo_guy has been merged with the original account, and by the look of it it's still suspended... Bugger!
  4. http://www.projecta.com.au/Images/PDFs/Battery-Chargers/Charge-Maintain.pdf I've got the AC250B. Great little unit.
  5. Discussion about this car and that article can be found at...
  6. This discussion doesn't just apply to VIC though. It's a valid point for the other states.
  7. I'll happily take it on its merits. Next to my 300rwkw XR6T in the driveway sits a VW with a 1.2L direct injection, variable vane turbo engine in it and I can tell you that it's a great car to drive! I love the thing! I'll be very surprised if the ecoboost isn't a much more punchier car to drive than the common I6. As we know turbo cars are nice torquey cars to drive (just like my little VW). That's what makes these things fun. Pazzo, I see what your saying about sales. Here's the question for you though... What would you suggest they do? Ford knows the Falcon is copping a hiding in sales. You clearly know that too and so do we. They HAVE to try something and the ecoboost sounds like a smart move. The inline 6 engine IS going to die. It's not going to be able to keep up with the emission regs and alternatives need to be sourced. I honestly believe the Falcon is going to die before well before the decade is out. The motoring industry as a whole is heading for dark times. If they think the shift to more economical cars was hard to deal with wait until we have to shift to alternative fuels. That will be a HUGE change. Oil will run out and before it runs out the price will be ridiculous. I actually feel sorry for our kids and their kids. It's going to be a tough world to live in.
  8. Never understood the appeal of the modern Mustang myself. I can't get passed the fact it's live axle.
  9. I 'liked' it for you. She's a fit and attractive lady. I have to say that the implants look odd to me. I don't mean any offence by that. It's just something that stands IMHO.
  10. Good point! Cruises and car shows are hard places to get the WOW shots. The light is generally pretty harsh, there's people everywhere and the scenery isn't always that great. You just have to work with what you have and accept that you probably won't get one of your favourite shots out of it. Composition is certainly a key part of photo. Maybe even the most important part. All the technical knowledge in the world won't help you if you can't compose a shot. Think of it like learning to ride a bike. I could give you a stack of books 6 feet high on riding a bike, but you'd still fall off time and time again without the practical experience. Photography is the same. If you're really interesting in improving then I'd suggest watching these...
  11. Basically, yes. You can get just the shaft though from aftermarket suppliers and save yourself a LOT of money. If you want the whole assembly just go to your local dealer.
  12. The shaft inside the actuator will be broken. There's aftermarket spares available for them.

So someone with no idea knows better than a qualified mechanic? Some mechanics (insert any other job here too) may not give a toss, but plenty of them do. I take the work I do and the work my team does very seriously. Any other good mechanic would too.
  15. Can't believe you all wouldn't go if it was at Heathcote. Don't give a rats either way myself, but the advantages to Heathcote are garages, under cover parking, track side parking and viewing, better photo opportunities etc. Do you all really want to be at Calder behind a big fence all that way up in the seating area instead of right beside the track?
  16. Why not just have a fun day? No prizes, no classes, run whatever you've got and race the lights. People can pair off for grudge racing if they like.
  17. Need all the details first. One step at a time grasshopper. I'm not much good with graphic design, but the photo side of things is not a problem.
  18. There's plenty of us here that could do that. The AFF day is in June.
  19. Why don't you run DYO? Pretty hard to cheat that system and easy to manage. It also means everyone who attends gets plenty of runs.
  20. Can't go to Heathcote. Leaving the brightly lit streets scares city folk.
  21. Isn't that already how Calder does it?
