    Aps Phaseii

Just to add, basically APS has the EPA test results already done for you. So you just need the engineers report which costs approx $500 - $800, APS send the EPA results to the engineer so he doesn't have to test your car and the test cost big $$$, so APS has made it as easy for their customers as they can, they've spent the money so you don't have to.
  2. After reading a bit about the way they're going about the "zoom' car I would have to wonder if all the techno mumbo jumbo is above them also!
  3. Count me in at this stage. I will let you know if I can't make it further down the track, bit hard to plan ahead that far. Sorry.
  4. Since this site doesn't support street racing the APS site sponsor ad "annihilate a HSV today" must be in the kW v kW sense and not in the fastest down the road sense. :D
  5. My ute is an auto. I fully expected to use a lot of fuel but it's never happened, I've done 2700km, the economy has been pretty much the same since day 1.
  6. I'm very happy with the economy I get from my XR6T the best I've achieved on highway work is 9.6L per 100KM. But generally average between 10.5 - 11.5 on the highways and 12.5 - 13.5 town driving, always on premium 96 octane, tried 98 (Optimax) and it was no better, so I figured why pay more for nothing. You have to be prepared to use the fuel though that 240KW has to come from somewhere!
  7. I know exactly what you mean the grip is very good. I with there was a bit less road noise coming through from the back though, it's alright on smooth roads but the rough country highways I drive on make it a bit louder, but that's what the stereo is for I guess.
  8. The little cooler with the fins on it under the intercooler is for the power steering. The trans fluid cooler is built into the radiator on the BA the same as the AU, pre AU cars had a separate trans cooler.
  9. Sorry, changing the exhaust just by itself with no other changes has no benefit.
  10. Ah yeah, I think that was my fault TINTR was just following me. Thanks to the APS boys it was a really informative day, they helped clear up some of the myths about modifying the XR6T such as just replacing the exhaust actually has no benefit. Phase 1 sounds good!!! Can't wait for Calder Park when that little blue ute rolls down the strip hopefully it will a bit later in the evening so I can get there, BLKXRT please keep us posted on this. Nice to meet everyone as well, hope to see you again some day.
  11. It should be very interesting. Hopefully I can make it!
  12. I was just wondering what software you guys use to make your signiture pictures some of them look really really good? Any help you can give me would be much appreciated.
  13. The thing that impressed me the most about the auto/engine conbination besides the power and torque is just how smooth the engine runs all the way to 5800rpm where the auto shifts, it never sounds like your hurting it like in my AU and EF.

    Plexis Blue Interior

Get a catalogue from your dealer there are examples of the trim finishes in it. In my opinion the plexis blue looks horrid! I have a blueprint ute and optioned for the grey interior, it blends better with the rest of the car and the MOMO accessories in grey match the trim unlike the blue MOMO stuff matching the plexis trim.
  15. The new falcon web site says offshore blue is available as of September, Lightning Strike as of October and Luscious is listed but no date given so I would say it available now, hope that helps.
  16. There's one way to get the dealer back for all the B S they told you. The Ford customer survey, give em hell!!!
  17. I doubt that blueprint is getting replaced because I read in a recent article about the GT that blueprint and blood orange are the most popular colors, they wouldn't kill one of the best selling colors. Lightning Strike apparently looks really good, I know of a guy selling his black GT just to buy another one in the new Lightning Strike!
  18. 2 days work for the predelivery do they have smoko every 10 minutes or something at that dealership!!! Mine rolled off the truck at 2.30pm ready to go at 5.30pm tinting and all, and yes the PD was done properly, by a mate actually.
  19. Well like so many others before me I have visited this forum many times while awaiting the delivery of my XR6T, which only adds to the torment to see all you guys loving the turbo experience while I could only wonder what it must be like. But I'm wondering no more, I know! And WOW! What a great car! Unfortunately I've had 3 item which needed immediate attention. Firstly was a leaking auto, fluid was coming from the servo on the LH side of the transmission 2 days after pickup, malformed gasket. Secondly an intermittent fault, no reverse, it just wouldn't engage, faulty S3 solenoid and finally another transmission leak a cracked return cooler pipe. I love the sound, you know what I'm talking about! Love the auto, now it works! Love the color (blueprint). Love the power and torque, great for overtaking and I'm surprised at the grip level of the rear end of the ute being leaf springs but I'm not complaining. I would have loved to bring it to the Melbourne dyno day, I was surposed to take delivery the day before. I was going to attend anyway but thought that seeing all you guys with your turbos would just annoy me more I opted not to, hopefully another day. I know by now what you are all saying "where are the photos", I have the photos just need a scanner so I can post them, no digital camera, sorry! Finally, I would just like to say great car, great website well done to everyone involved (like the new look) and great mix of people.
  20. Even though the headlights can handle stones etc I opted for the headlight covers to stop the sandblasting effect you get over time which will help when it comes to the all important resell value.
  21. All of the guys who have BA XR's at the dealer I bought my car from said to run 40PSI cold inflation pressure of course because with the 30 odd the sticker recommends their tyres are wearing badly and increasing it to 40 has made the tyres wear more evenly.
  22. Picked up my car on Saurday 120km later I had it on a friends hoist to fit the muflaps which don't line up with the holes on the rear of my ute by the way, anyway noticed leaking transmission fluid. With this surging problem I noticed this morning that when I started it the tacho was moving up and down continually, is this what is happening to you guys, any info would be helpful. Another point which might explain alot is that the guy who did the PD is a friend and he said my ute has the old computer in it, there has been a "hardware" upgrade this may explain the surging?
  23. ringing customer service is a waste of time, while you are on hold they ring the dealer in question and make sure they're not going to tell you anything the dealer doesn't want to hear. I know this because I did it and the dealer gets in big trouble off the customer service people and in turn the dealer gets really pissed with you. it's a lot of trouble for no gain.
