That's because Ford has plenty of HgAg's sittin around so they use them to take photos the other colors are gone as soon as there built, HgAg color, it a shade not a color! :banghead:

I've got coin slots in my centre console aswell as a card holder for a fuel card or EFTPOS/credit size and a pen holder under the lid. I didn't realise any of this was there until my girlfriend pointed it out two months after I got the bloody thing. I just don't look in there that often.

Premium sound with the color screen isn't available on any ute. it's possible that who ever they are using for there quotes is changing the entire command centre so the color screen can be installed into the ute, I think think this might be the case because did you see the price of the upgrade $2950.00!!!!!!!! Bloody hell!!!!!!!! For that price you would want to have the singer in the passenger seat doin it live for ya!!!!!!!

Exactly mate! For me it's blueprint. If I had of got the sedan I'd be a HgAg member, but it just doesn't look any good in the ute in my opinion! Sorry Ken.

Got to have the hard painted tonneau cover (spoiler optional) it makes the ute look so much better. I also went for the bonnet and headlight protectors because they're a must have in the country, XR floor mats and scuff plates, MOMO shifter (auto) because I changed the interior trim to grey instead of that horrid color that you get with blueprint and the grey leather on the shifter matches quite nicely with everthing else, I kept the standard steering wheel but the other ones look great! Pollen filter is another must have it keeps all the dust out really well, mudspats are also very handy, opinion varys on this, and it does look better without them but still looks fine with them, but it beats getting crap and stone chips up the side of your ute. The rest depends on what you want to do with your ute, if you ride motorbikes then the motorbike tie down kit is really good, ramp and all. Visit a few dealers and see what things look like you can't always tell from the Ford website or a catalogue or ask the members here to post some pictures if they've got the option your looking at and a digital camera. Less fuel used in the city, I don't get that, evrything really is backwards over there! Can someone convert that fuel consumption figure? Miles and gallons is a bit before my time.

Dagabond, I think he's asking a genuine question, he's started quite a few topics around the forum lately. He's just trying to decide which to buy, we were all faced with decisions when buying our T's whether they be sedans or utes.

I think Ford is banking on people realising that their proformance cars are more about the total package rather than who gets down the road a bit quicker, Ford have sacraficed a bit of speed to gained more driving quality and comfort. Unfortunately to a lot of people quicker means better!

There's nothing wrong with the ute. Yes it has the same engine and transmission but you have to realise that they're different animals, the ute is leaf spring in the rear it's not as smooth as the sedans control blade setup but it's designed for a different purpose and it does it bloody well, the ute is just that a ute. If you don't need a ute and have got the extra $$ buy the sedan and get your big color premium sound screen. The main difference I've noticed in the ute compared to the sedan (not including the missing rear seats and all) is the noise suppression, the ute gets more road noise in the cabin than the sedan does, not a big deal really. I could've bought either one, (and would've been happy with either one) but the ute suits me better for work than the sedan would've and yes, it also saved me money and if past history is anything to go by resale will be a damn site better to. Very interesting! Like you I hadn't heard of any issues with the V8's driveline (until now). I would think something as serious as that would be a well known fact, take the comments about the T5 in the XR6T for example. Maybe they both aren't much good, (I don't know) it's only when they're compared against each other the V8's driveline seems fine.

As far as I'm aware the standard and the prestige screen are the same size.

As far as the salespersons wage is concerned wouldn't that be determined by the dealership not the brand of car they're selling? I would think that generally luxury car (BMW, Mercedes, Lexus etc) salespeople would make more due to larger profit margins in there cars, but that shouldn't mean that because they sell Ford or Expensive Daewoo and don't earn as much they should be any less equipped to do their job, I think it comes dow to the individual.

Since your buying a ute hambo_12 you can forget about the color screen, you can only option from standard to prestige sound in the ute, which is basically going from single disc to six disc in dash changer for $600, in my opinion a huge waste of money!

OK I'm not criticising you anymore. There are some people with problems, as with anything and everything but are you saying in your case that the driveline is no good because it doesn't suit the way you drive. Just looking for clarification, don't me!

One guy says the drive line is crap, every report I've ever read suggests other wise. Hmmm, who's opinion will I believe?

I use the ute as a ute but besides that it's cheaper than the sedan, resale value on utes is traditionally heaps better, rego is cheaper and now I don't get taken for a taxi service anymore
