  1. Forget manual for now. Stick with learning in Av or Tv for the time being.
  2. If you join a photography forum make sure the people there give real C&C. It's good for the ego to have a bunch of people post "great shot" or something similar, but it will do f*ck all to help you improve. Finding people who a) know what they're talking about and b) not scared to tell you the truth can be hard to come by.
  3. On second thought I wouldn't do anymore than a couple down there as I'd like more time to play with the surroundings rather than have to concentrate on churning through a bunch of cars.
  4. I wonder if they'd be happy for a group of cars to pay a not so short visit for a photo shoot...
  5. Is that underground/under cover car park always open?
  6. Sorry Pazzo. You're lacking in other areas. Some have it and some don't.
  7. A few of us don't have the time so we're bringing in more active members.
  8. Yeah. Kind of do. You can read each thread about most of the regular members in the Members History sub-forum in the Moderator section. Then you'll quickly realise what type of people your dealing with when you can see all their "greatest hits" in the one place.

    Next Vic Cruise

GOR cruise is usually held early in the year. Snowies cruise is mid next month so I doubt there will be anything from the CC's until December.
  10. Warranty comes in handy sometimes. I can't imagine what it was like to see the door get peeled forward like the lid of a sardine can.
  11. And what happened at Kilmore Jack? Go on. Tell them the story.
  12. Couldn't bring myself to spend $26k on a Sigma.
  13. Anyone interested in going to the Phillip Island MotoGP on the Saturday for the last chance to photograph Stoner?
  14. Took the macro lens into the backyard today to capture some bees at work before the lawn mower attacks...
  15. I have done a wedding as a last minute favour for a couple having a small ceremony, but it's not something I've gone out looking for.
  16. :sarcastic: Thanks mate. I'm still a looooong way from where I'd like to be. Freezing action is straight forward enough. Shutter priority and 1/1000th of a second and the shot will always be sharp if the focus was spot on. The challenge comes when you want a sharp shot of something that's moving, but still want a sense of motion in the photo, like a race car for example where the body is sharp and the wheels and background show movement.
