  1. Gotta put these on... Feeder... Masters of driving music! (If you've ever played Gran Turismo, you'll know these guys ) Just a Day Buck Rogers Seven Days in the Sun Come Back Around Feeling a Moment Shatter and here's a couple of their latest... sure to be on Gran Turismo 5 Into the Blue Tracing Lines Heaps heaps more.. but there's just a few. Massively underrated here in Australia Miss You
  2. Did the car only run rough under boost before the coils were changed? My car runs rough under boost, makes a fluttering noise that I can't pinpoint, and I'm thinking it might be the coils... But it runs fine at idle? Either way, good to hear your car is runnin well. Is always a good feeling
  3. Well they're all meeting at the other BP at 8:15am... so we're gonna have to meet at BP Forest Glen kinda early Like around 730am?
  4. Phantom... you still good to meet up at BP Forest Glen? Is that the one just off Maroochydore Rd?
  5. Yeah kinda agree with you on that one... Although I'm only starting to get to know their new album... Don't mind Mercury though... Nothing beats their 'Silent Alarm' though. One of the best debut albums I've ever come across. Good call... Mystery Jets are great... This is my fav track off '21' Stars are quite good too. Man I could go on forever... Will check out Paper Planes though... especially if a band member is on these forums! And damn Maximus... that is the best avatar ever...
  6. Great track Awesome music video too

    Music

Was browsing through the forums, and was surprised to see there were no music threads in sight (unless I'm blind). Either way, what are you all into? Do you listen to RnB, Pop/Rock, Pop, Dance, Trance, House (ugh), Indie Rock, Urban... list goes on?? Would be interesting to see what Ford revheads listen to. Personally, I'm into indie pop/rock... That in itself is kinda open, as I love dance rock (ie Block Party), electro rock (ie Menomena), straight pop (Stars) whatever... Anyway... thought I'd post a song from a fav artist of mine. Post what you're listening to!
  8. We've got a unmarked black Hummer on big black aftermarket rims here in Gympie... Fkn cops can't even do there job up here, but they can buy a hummer as an undercover cop car! What the?
  9. I'm still up for it... I'm from Gympie so if we're meetin somewhere else, let me know.
  10. Jet066, isn't 375rwkw enough for ya?
  11. Going by what some tuners have done already, all you'll need in a FG XR6t is a custom tune and you'll be doing much more than 310kw at the engine. That said, I believe the Typhoon runs a bigger turbo (the one used in the BA-BF series), and a bigger intercooler, among other things, including a more aggressive tune.
  12. Thanks for the link... I don't have a heatshield anyway... Ripped it off a long time ago. I'm trying to find some photo's on here on which bolts I need to tighten. I've tightened all the manifold/engine bolts. But not the bolts to turbo. Every time I've checked them, they've been ok.
  13. Here are some videos... Unfortunately you can't really hear it... Its almost like a spitting noise if someone was going 'tftftftftftftftftf' and spitting as there were making that noise. If that makes sense! (Click on the images... couldnt work out how to have the videos direct on the page)
  14. What is the best way to get to these? From underneath?
  15. As per my sig, I've got a BA and I've got a weird little problem. Before and after my tune, I've noticed a weird sound under boost at highish RPM (say 4000rpm+) It basically sounds like this "ftftftftftftftftftft" sorta like some boost or something is leaking on and off and on really quickly. I've also noticed after 4000rpm I lose a lot of torque, and the power seems to die off until it shifts to the next gear under 4000rpm. Initially I thought it was an exhaust manifold leak, but I've tightened all those bolts like you wouldn't believe and its still there. All the hoses are tight, I can't see any splits in any of the hose joiners (ie at the turbo inlet) and its starting to drive me nuts. Its not my plugs, because I've got brand new .8mm plugs and the noise existed before I changed them. All my coils seem to be working at idle too... I'll try and record the noise, but its not overly loud so it might not be recordable as I'm driving. Does anyone have ANY idea? Its getting to the point where I'm stopping myself driving the car hard (which is the point of having these things!) Cheers Dave
  16. They mustn't have looked after it very well if that's the case. I neglected my T for a year, its now done 140,000 highway k's, and its going great. Little niggly things here and there, but nothing major. Either its just a bit of bad luck, or you've bought a lemon... Hard to tell at this stage I guess... What have you had to fix on it so far? Coils going isn't a major deal...
  17. That makes no sense??
  18. I'd be suspicious of them not being a major underwriter, and that they don't seem to offer customer support. The product itself looks ok. Cancellation fee is a bit high, but the product is pretty straight forward. My concern would obviously be at claim time. Do they have enough staff to chase up repairers, support you when another insurer is putting you at fault and you are disputing the claim... all kinds of things would be a worry. That said, $480 is a bloody good price for your car. Could be worth the risk? I tried getting a quote for my car, but they wouldn't insure me because I had suspension lowered more than 20mm (which would cover about 70% of the cars on this site!)
  19. Hey Jimmy, have to agree, $1000+ a year to insure any standard vehicle is a rip off! Unfortunately that's what most insurers will charge... Especially for a 'sports' vehicle like an FPV
  20. Loose manifold?? I have the same problem everynow and then, and it almost sounds like a spitting/spluttering under high revs, under load.
  21. Glad I was able to help! I reckon they're great cars as well. Only thing that lets them down is their handling when stock, and the build quality. If my car didn't make so much noise over bumpy roads, I'd love it to death.
  22. 5 listed down so far, but pip_brendanAKAfrosty SilkRSpec Mitch Haven't signed up yet... so if they come it'll be 8.
  23. Pretty sure the Ipod connector sends data, along with audio.
  24. Hey everyone Was installing a boost gauge tonight, and tightened the ferrule nut to hard on to the ferrule, crushing it and crimping the plastic tubing... :( I have no idea where to go to get another ferrule... Does anyone know where to go for this sort of thing? Any help would be great!
  25. Funnily enough I agree. Some people may say that its best to baby your car, but I've found my car runs best after I've givin it a hiding. I don't mean smashing it against the rev limiter, doing donuts, but I mean letting it rev, stretching its legs a little bit. My car has almost 150,000kms and was neglected for a while while it was the missus car while I bussed it to work but since then I've: Changed oil Changed oil filter Changed fuel filter High flow air filter Cleaned boost solenoid a number of times Changed to 0.8mm plugs Ran a couple of injector cleaners through it Only run it on 98ron fuel Cleaned Throttle Body a number of times Cleaned oil out of turbo inlet Cleaned out crossover and connected hoses (found a lot of slimey stuff along the inside walls of the hoses) Tightened manifold/turbo bolts numerous times Reset cam timing and reset ECU And it's purring like a content kitten now. Give those things a go and see how the car feels.
