  1. Wow, thanks heaps to everyone for their response! It provided helpful reading. I’m looking at used, but prefer not more than 1-2 yrs old. New is totally out of consideration far as the big Fords and Holdens are concerned cos they simply depreciate too heavily. I reckon I can get a good deal on a near-new Ford. To be honest, I have also looking at the XR8 and SS/SV8 (6.0 liter). I’m after, firstly auto, then space. Heavier fuel consumption I can live with cos I rack up very very low miles – it’s just to the nearby train stn and back daily. You can imagine the turbo won’t even come on boost nor would I want it to for such short trips before warm-up. As someone noted, the Rex turbo doesn’t come on song till 3500rpm. Below that on 1st and 2nd, they are low geared and one needs to wring its neck to move at decent pace. I’m sure a Falcon 4.0 NA will suit most of my daily needs, but I’d just like to have a blast on a turbo every now n then! Not interested in mods either, my Rex is factory stock, its replacement will probably be the same. I’ve “done my time” with modded Lan Evo 2, Volvo 850T5, Swift GTi, etc., not terribly interested in this dept any longer. I have also looked at the Liberty but feel they are overpriced. Anyway, I’m not settled on the choice yet, so still lurking in forums and reading up. Thanks again all!
  2. Hi everyone My 1st post. Currently drive a 2003 WRX (Version , getting tired of a Manual g/box, and need more space for the family, hence sriously considering changeover to a XR6 Turbo. Decided I'd join a coupla forums to learn more before taking that step.
