hi guys in 99.9% of cases it is only the dust cap that has come loose. this is mainly due to sun damaging the glue they stick it on with. just remove the shelf and the security bolts that hold the sub in, peel off the foam gasket and mesh cover and just stick the dust cap back on with some araldite or similar. stick everything back on the top and re-install most of the shallow subs like the pioneers etc need a few hundred watts RMS to run them and you only have about 80 watts RMS from your factory amp. so its not powerful enough to run much at all.
gees poor old Kenwood is coping a hiding lol. Definately not up to alpines scratch but in mid range gear it sh*ts on quite a lot of other brands. decent reliability as well. anyhow... can I recommend you put some split loom-tube over your power cable in your engine bay if you havent already. it will camoflage in with the rest of the cables then and be near impossible to see unless someone was looking for it. Dan
even if you have to save for a few weeks extra it would be worth your wait to get the type r's in the front. and dont forget to budget in an amp to run them
with my power limiting on or off about 18 is as high as it goes before it sounds bad. the power limiting just wont let it get any louder. but it was never loud and quailty enough so I upgraded the whole system
does it do it with a proper music cd? I would say combination or any of the following 1. tired burner 2. old discs 3. cheap discs 4. burn rate too fast.
yeah but then you might be wasting a 6-disc changer and premium sound. the 3sixty and the JL cleansweap use a test disc to normalise the outputs of factory ICC so that the outputs of the processor are flat response. Same as an aftermarket headunit with the settings all on 0.
just do it properly the first time and get something like a rockford 3sixty.1. then you waill have some decent control over the signal going to the amplifiers
its either a mono or a 2ch bridged. there is nothing that is a straight swap over and plug in. best thing to do is get an amp that has high-level input and pinch signal from the rear speakers and run a 12" subwoofer off that. never sounds fantastic but will give you bass. just remember to unglug the factory amp so that the ICC send full range signal to the speakers.
hey sikxe8, yeah the amp in to boot is the only amp and runs the subwoofer, apart from the ICC which still runs the speakers. I thought the low pass for the factory sub was a little higher around 100hz
I doubt you would fit those tweeters behind premo sound pillers big problem is 'did they drill holes to put them there?' who whe hell did this horrible act anyway? they would have only done that so they could put the crossover in the door cause they are lazy
Yeah she be F**ked I have had a huge increase is the last 2 or 3 months with people with single and multi povo and premuim systems with CD problems. Seems to be bad on BA MK1 and MK2 vehicles so they must just be getting to that age now where they are all failing. I thought FORD pulled them out and sent them to ASL anyhow.
