Is Ethanol Blended Fuel "evil"?
howesy replied to Astro82's topic in Fuel System & Induction Workshop
got well over 50K on mine and mostly used E95. Car runs great and seems to actually go harder on it. I tried 98 and it actually ran less economical and had no more power on it. I swear by E95 however mine is a stock tune series 2 not sure about custom tune jobs can only speak for myself. -
Mine wouldnt last that long anyway the diff leaks, another fine example of Fords quality build
-
Ford say 60000km or 2 years
-
well dsc is a real gimmick then because with traction control off you can get it as out of shape as you like and it wont interfer at all
-
My dsc isnt worth a pinch, the car is already out of control doing 360's before it thinks about maybe stopping the wheelspin. Just a gimmick in my book. Another useless light on the dashboard, and no the light is not on when it does it there is very little difference between on and off it allows quite a lot of wheel spin before it kicks in.

As far as I can see with my last 2 brand new ford purchases their warranty isnt worth the paper its written on because they either put the same sub standard parts back in or do a bodgy crap job or give you the official ford responses of : Not evident at time of testing Can not replicate fault. Normal operation for the vehicle. Ford warranty is laughable and I would rather get it done by experts with quality products and only have it done once instead of taking up to 6 days off work to get the same problem looked at by sub standard mechanics using sub standard replacement parts.

So who does the best off the shelf programs with these. Was going to try one with eh pre-loaded tune and worry about a dyno tune later. 2010 FG Turbo manual
-
clutch fork and thrust bearing rattle which disappears with the slightest pedal pressure, at least that's what I was told unofficially (maybe he was giving me bull) and that they dont know what to do to fix it so the standard ford responses come in to play. FORD STD responses Can not replicate problem Assessed as normal operation for the vehicle Not evident at time of inspection Please feel free to add but im sure these are sent to all dealers as official responses to avoid warranty claims

When I had my last car on lease I just sent receipts in for "tyres" when I got the wheels (tyre service wont argue if he's selling) and sent one in for "replace valve springs" "replace injectors" , you get the drift and I was reimbursed into my bank account within 48hrs every time. Its all in your resove to claim and the receipt.

I get nervous about engaging if I think police are within range once or twice I have hit set on the cruise and it accellerates flat out to about 20-25 k's above where you pushed it then disengages until you get back down to speed where iit picks it back up again, Great if your setting it because there is a radr ahead the only other cruise problem is every now and then it wont come online and the "cruise" flashes on the dash you have to push the brake pedal (decently) before it will come online

Had a manual pursuit ute before this driven sedately I might add disc rotors wore to below min thickness in 40,000 km dealer said wear and tear cost me $1400 to replace. Found a design fault with a rubber (that I rectified) causing caliper not to withdraw put on some DBA's and 260,000km later sold the car with still great DBA rotors on it so take it from me Ford dealers will blame anything and everone to avoid warranty issues. Ford's warranty is a token effort not worth the paper it's written on and that's the way I viewed and accepted it when I bought the turbo.

only good to satisfy one self knowing you have something fairly unique. BA GT's were numbered you can get them for a third of original price now cheap as chips. I had a special edition U beaut one of only 248 ever made and I got less than one sixth of its new price as trade in (immaculate looking) Be happy in what you have I suppose is the important thing

Getting Extra Kw Without Replacing 5 Sp Man Gearbox
howesy replied to mattxr6tute's topic in General Tech
If its the T3650, I had one behind a 236RWKW 530nm engine and it was there for eight years before I traded it with no issues. -
Well My damage to the radiator support panel paint caused by the dealer's sloppy pre-delivery (which they charge big dollars for) has been fixed at an independant panel shop with Ford Australia footing the bill but still no official apology from the dealer so here it is for you all SINCLAIR FORD at Penrith NSW Only in my opinion are the biggest pack of incompetent idiots and a bunch of oxygen thieves who cant even manage a simple apology for their own stuff up. If you go to them good luck as this is not the only issue I have had with them including alegations bought to me by one of their own staff that they were taking one of my cars out and flogging crapola out of it and had a nickname for it (the freak) Ford Austalia have been good and very apologetic and have arranged for my next service at any dealer in the country to be free of charge. (charged back to ford australia) Good outcome by Ford, the dealer should be well and truely ashamed of themself

I am yet to see a chrome paint that actually passes off as chrome all that I've seem look shabby. having said that there are processes available to chrome plastics but it would be cheaper to make ebay your friend and buy one
-
I guess you saw the photos of where the paint lifted, I only presume it was brake fluid as it was oily in texture and obviously had corrosive properties. As for the dealer I made it quite clear to Ford head office that I wanted the apology from the dealer but no way no how did I want anyone in that dealership ever touching my car again as this is not the first issue I have had with this dealer but I had been assured it had changed (obviously not)
-
Just an update, No way no how was the dealer going to acknowledge what they had done let alone apologise for the damage so I wrote to Ford Australia CEO and today I got a phone call from Melbourne. They have assigned me a case officer and they are contacting the dealer principle at the dealer involved and taking up the issue and are arranging for the repair of my car through a different dealership.

Where Can I Get Something Like This Without The 'gt' Logo?
howesy replied to xpl0sive's topic in Interior & Exterior Workshop
Like this one maybe http://cgi.ebay.com.au/Engine-Oil-Cap-XR-badge-EA-EB-ED-EF-EL-Falcon-/280638136917?pt=AU_Car_Parts_Accessories&hash=item4157562255 Or this one http://cgi.ebay.com.au/Billet-Chrome-Engine-Oil-Cap-Ford-BA-BF-FG-Falcon-/280634538566?pt=AU_Car_Parts_Accessories&hash=item41571f3a46 -
just bought my demo with 300km on it for $38300 drive away so aim for that. (lightning strike manual)
-
yes that's exactly what they have a low pressure cut out switch
-
I once asked the service manager (same dealer as my issue should have learnt my lesson but they said it had changed) anyway asked him to do a cylinder leak down test on my engine after it broke valve springs and they told me to drive it another 100km rather than have it towed (ford pay) This idiot said he wasnt going to do it because he wasnt prepared to pull the heads off. Well I'd really like to see the test done with no heads on. Worst part is FPV gave me this message when I rang back to see what was happening apparently when you ring FPV you are talking to a phone jockey who may know nothing about cars except how to get in. Been a Ford man over 30 years but they could learn a lot from Expensive Daewoo in marketing and customer service

So basically its the same as my last new ford, another half a@s%d designed and manufactured product and I need to either suck eggs and spend money from my own pocket to fix it or keep taking days off work losing money to get warranty work done which is probably either not going to solve it or have it re-occuring. Been buying Fords for 30 years but honestly they see to be getting worse at it. Thanks will consinder just doing the superpro do you remember what the cost was quoted

Since new (now 5000km) my FG if it breaks traction gets severe axle hop with a series of extremely loud bangs in rapid succession coming from the rear axle. This happens in the wet or dry and also happens whether the traction control is on or off. Is this normal or have I got dud shocks or stuffed bushes. Also a decent amount of driveline backlash as well. While I'm at it did any one notice a performance dive after the 300km service check I wonder if they do an ECU upgrade and stuff it seems very ordinary since then especially low revs. Cheers

Its a manual sedan Thanks
