hay guys, so I had a same coolant leak that I couldn't find for the past week or 2 two, took it for a drive Friday night, got home parked it up and could smell the coolant burning on something hot so I took off the heat shield and sure enough it had a small leak on the copper washer on the water line on the turbo, so I thought id unload the cap for the overflow to release some pressure, once I did this it looked like oil went into the overflow bottle so I'm guessing the trans cooler has craped its self, heres hoping it happened after the car was turned off ( wishful thinking 🙃 ) car was driving perfect , will ring up ford and a few other places Monday and talk to them but what do you thinks think, is it worth getting them to flush out the coolant system and the ZF, or is it more than likely to late? Started to flush the Coolant system

Cleaned up the Earth connections and changed the battery out no change, it’s weird if I unlock the car and then open the door it doesn’t happen but if I leave the car unlocked for 10/20 minutes and then open the door it comes up with it with fault

hay guys, I have a 2009 xr6 turbo, over the last 2 weeks I some times get a fault on dash ''transmission not in park'' when its in park when it does happen the car is off and only happens when I open the drivers side door, doesnt happen every time I open the door ( maybe twice a week ) any one know what would cause this? I only just did a antz Turbo Side Intake & Passenger Battery Relocation kit, then week after it started to happen, would a bad earth cause weird faults? battery is good

was thinking about doing it myself but reading about needing the oils at temps etc was a bit off putting and well how the ZF can be lol

unsure, I know the one in my town charge a arm and a leg to do anything

hi guys, looking at getting my ZF serviced, I have a 2009 FG XR6T with 184xxxkm ill ring the ford dealership for a quote , but they are pretty big rip offs in my town ( wanted 1400nzd to do the water pump, belt and tensioner🙃 lol doing a oil change and also replacing the fuel filter this week so il have a look but if I have plastic sump for the ZF would this link for the right metal one to buy? https://www.ebay.com.au/itm/201433334380 sorry might be a noob question, not really that mechanically minded with cars, I'm learning though which is fun lol would ford be the best people to do the servicing of the ZF or would transmission shop be better( will be looking at getting a better trans cooler as well cheers guys

one I got looks good, so we ended up replacing the water pump, the idler and also the tensioner, the tensioner roller/pulley had started to delaminate so thought might as well replace it while we there, rather pend the money and do it all right the 1st time lol

hi guys last night I'm was driving in town and had to hard swerve to avoid hitting a cat on the road, 10 sec after that I lost power steering so drove home with was only a min away, just as I got home the temp gauge hit max and there was a battery error on screen which im getting is because the belt came off, reckon a new belt will be all that's needed or do you think I might of damaged the engine or water pump etc, in hind sight I should of pulled over when it happen, will get a new belt tomorrow and get a mate to help me change it but just thought id ask you guys on your opinion

well wasnt as bad as what I thought itd be, especially for some one who has never done any work on a car before lol, I used a cleaning flush kit for a few days, drained and flushed it all out, replaced the thermostat/seal and oil ring, pipe I had to pull out to replace the o ring was a Bit*h lol, green o-ring was f**ked cheers for everyone's help, was good doing the work myself

had to order the oring in, got the oil ring, new thermostat and seal today, going to put a cleaner though the cooling lines for a few days and do it all on the weekend

Hiya’ just Noticed a week or two ago that I’m leaking just below the thermostat, can I drain the fluid and try undo the bolt and redo it up to see if it stops it leaking? also thinking about replacing the thermostat, car has just done 180000km so was planning on cleaning out all the radiator fluid
