First im hearing of it, the transmission heat exchanger between the xr6 turbo and f6 is identical in size and look so I'd doubt there's any internal difference..... maybe police cars got a different one but I highly doubt it.... tbh your better off going an aftermarket heat exchanger or cooler over the factory Ford unit anyways as there rubbish
-
Well youl make 400 with a gtx3582gen 2 on petrol so 300-400 youl notice a big big difference ... actually if u only want high 300s go a gtx3576 that will boost so hard youl love it
-
100% also FG George if your sticking to factory turbo no need as youl want all the power that turbo can deliver doubt youl want a low boost tune followed by a short burst of like 320rwkw could understand if you went for a larger turbo though
-
There's a reason there's a lot more turbo 6s goin around then modular 5.4s...... I've owned both and I know why that's the case.....
-
Unless running a huge turbo and using the bottle to spool it up I don't see a need
-
Wow.... when I owned my R34 GTR many moons ago (before they were worth mega bucks) I remember having to fork out 5k for a at the time was a top ecu and to think now with the falcons most things are possible on a factory pcm.... so tell me is the factory pcm really that good from Ford? Or have the likes of pcmtec just put heaps of time into making it work?
-
Oh awesome thanks I'll go check it out I didn't know rotary dial was possible. Thanks puff
-
Yea true 😂 but I was thinking like if he wanted a seperate button... then again the haltechs on the falcons aren't crash hot anyways
-
Doing that can cause danger to manifold and then floor pan can fall out,, do it at your own risk!! but in all seriousness like the boys said pcmtec is good but if you want it on a dedicated button haltech or other quality ecu is the way to go.... haltech on the falcons is good but it ain't good enough for what they charge for it

Funny thing is fat is the least of your problems with that burger the sugar and carbohydrate content is ridiculous... 😂😂 I used to have abit of an addiction to HJ f#kn nice burgers for a fast food outlet
-
I have no experience with the headunit so it could be that but I really dunno...but in a former life I was an AC and refrigeration engineer well technically still am but work in a different field now... anyways I've fixed 2 falcon Utes (they were in the company fleet) with the same issue both were the HIM it's not a hard job but it's time consuming,,, if you were in Sydney I would of said bottle of Johnny blue and supply the parts and I would of Fixed it for you... Shame on the head unit going out, you never know it really could be related make sure to check that out if you can
-
Mate tbh with the current turbo prices don't blame you for doin a conversion... but I don't think it's really a covid thing driving the turbo prices but anyways that's beside the point...... well done on the conversion and goodluck with it!! How much boost you planning to run through the N/A motor? And who's gonna tune?
-
I'm not sure if bf/fg ute canopies are interchangeable so I can't help you there,, but I've had a lot of falcon/Late model camira work Utes over the years before they stopped being manufactured and all had canopies, best canopies for them were from either arb or flexiglass colours matched up perfectly and quality was good no leaks, noises or other issues...... both companies had various models some with more features some with less.... but all were good quality if it was me I'd try to track down one of those..... mite be abit of a challenge finding one in your cars colour etc... goodluck edit.... just checked with a friend who is in the know... according to him no FG,FGX canopies can't be fitted onto BA/BF

Hey man.... you know that list I put together for you in the other thread follow that your asking the same question over again my bro. There's a wealth of info on here already as well which you can look up
-
Nah if your confident/competent you can do em yourself plus the guys from shockworks are really good and will advise you if you need it (within reason of course)... just get a good alignment done afterwards
-
Get your Transmission serviced and fit the cooler or PWR unit when you can.... oh awesome so fairly low Kays,, yea it does make a difference as your motor should handle mid 300s for a long long time.... if you had like 250,000 plus Kays I was gonna say a 300s tune should still be ok but it might not last another 100kays without a rebuild etc... is the oil pump with standard gears or upgraded? in regards to the brake shudder no surprise there like I said there junk for a performance car...
-
Fgeorge- check the other thread I commented on shockworks coilovers and better brakes, make sure all bushes and suspension components are in good nic it makes a world of difference
-
@cat007 I got the stepped cooler as well handled 500rwkw with no issue on the dyno ( was winter though) am about to upgrade now as going for big build but never had an issue with it even in summer (not that I could feel anyway) good intercooler. @biddie_fiddler process west make great coolers I love mine, but back in 2015 there turbo side intake and battery relo in my opinion was ok but far inferior to plazmamans in look, quality and fit, they may have improved em since then but I'm not sure... glad to hear the mackielec and antz are good quality the plazmaman one is nice but is abit of a rip, if the antz and mackielec were around back then I would of tried one of those fair bit cheaper...... I'm glad your intune piping kit was good quality, my brother had bought one and it did the job for a while but the finishing was terrible scratches and dings on it and the hose clamps corroded out within a few months......

Yea good idea my 2c are as follows if it was my car this is what I would do "if wanting to bulletproof the car as best I could" in reality it can be done with a lot less $$$ and some do it with more $$$ but for me this is a real solid build list: *4 inch dump & high flow cat *fuel system *intercooler- don't cheap out here get a good one *turbo side intake *Valve springs- you may not need em at mid 3s but they'll eventually go soft anyway * upgrade standard brakes with better pads and rotors if on budget, if happy to spend put a set of FPV brembos on the car makes a big difference (standard turbo brakes suck) (brembos won't fit most factory Ford wheels) * good suspension-- shockworks coilovers * Oil pump gears * external oil cooler for ZF or the PWR unit to prevent ZF milkshake * true trac diff * IMS diff hat * Tail shaft- so I can launch it and not worry * make sure rear end is up to scratch with new bushes and everything all tidy so it drives nicely ( a worn out rear end on these cars makes them feel like a bomb) * good set of tyres * service it often * seeing as though your in Bankstown go see Joe at CMS for your tune he's only at Prestons or go to Spiro at Autotech in Granville both are very good tuners. In my experience Joes prices are a fair bit better. On factory turbo youl do around 310-320rwkw on 98 and somewhere around 340-350rwkw on e85 depending on dyno who tunes it etc-- at this power level factory turbo is a good option spools nicely and you save money not having to purchase a new turbo ( genuine garrets are so much more expensive now it's a joke) Factory ZF mite be ok at that power level for a long long time but may eventually need a rebuild keep it in mind, people have broken input shafts with that power but then again some people have been totally fine. Building a strengthened ZF cost is 7-10k depending on spec who does it etc,, just something to keep in mind.... Now you can make that power for a lot cheaper then I've listed but if you went for the list I typed up your car would be a real nice street car and will feel awesome.. The other boys/girls will have a different opinion but this is my personal opinion.... Is your motor really high Kays? Or relatively low?
-
All do the same job, but there's variations on quality I have plazmaman awesome Quality but expensive.... a lot of people get the antz one these days as there abit cheaper can't comment on quality as I've never seen one in the flesh maybe someone else on here can comment on that
-
Not a necessary mod for 300 but get a turbo side intake and battery relocation will make the car sound awesome and you will need it if you push 400 plus later on
