Hey boys/girls, after your opinions the neighbours kid 20 years old (really nice kid always coming around to hang out in the garage with me and my mates doin our car thing or wateva we are up to) bought his first car a fg xr6 with the 5 speed, thing is he thought it was a 6 speed ZF and the dealer advertised it this way... so he got in touch with dealer they admit it's there error, and have offered 1k refund but are saying that's the most/best they can do..... you guys think this is fair? Or should he be asking for more? ... dealer states that wholesale there only valued 1k difference between the 2 models thus there rationale for that being the compensation offered, when he said to them it's not enough I want to return the car for Full Refund they got real funny and said they have to speak to dealer principal etc what you guys think? I told him the cars nice low kays for age and really good nic I said push em for 2k and be happy considering he's the type hel have it a year and then when he gets full licence get something with power.... but then again id assume it'l be a lot harder for him to sell a French toast 5 speed over a ZF when the time Comes To move it on
  4. Starting from NA is way cheaper considering cost of turbos these days and Shouldn't be an issue as your gonna change most things anyways... what's your plan engine wise? What sort of Rod piston combo? glad you've listed brakes as a mod standard kit is terrible for a perf car

I have done the mounts on a bf xrturbo for a friend, it's not difficult if your mechanically competent, but it is abit of a pain in the a*se , have a search through the forum I'm fairly sure someone has posted detailed info.. although being awd I can't comment on how much more Difficult it would be if at all on a terry.. either way you should be ok if your good with a spanner let us know how you go!

  10. Of course you can.... it's for an engineering assistant manager in NSW health..... I'm way overqualified for the job which I thought maybe an issue but turns out recruitment is just slow.... my brother in law is a security manager at nsw health and he has been waiting 5 months for guys he has employed to start spoke to him as I was getting paranoid and he said there's a big delay in the recruitment process but no clear explanation as to why...... Yea it does suck if I was jobless and needed money I'd be very upset mind you I knocked back a private industry job months ago but the way things panned out I should of taken it and seen how I went with that... Govt money is slightly more but it's just the flexible work arrangements which won me over it's 3 Day a week job and I can pick the days.

  12. Wow I knew it was slow but never knew that was the standard... so IF I start in July,, interview in FEB start JUL that's like a 6 month process... I was assuming like 3-4 month process,,, funny thing is In the interview they were very quick to ascertain how quick I could start and asking about my Notice period Etc hahah

Hey guys/gals,, just thought I'd have my little rant being almost retired I was getting/still am to bored... so for first time in my life applied for a nsw govt PT job, applied back in February, interviewed in March, passed the compliance process in early April and still havnt received my letter of offer, emailed the hiring manager just to touch base she replied with " you should be receiving a letter of offer soon recruitment is backed up", well I can understand that but after this long it makes you feel like saying to hell with them... I cannot for the life of me understand how things can take so long....... I wonder how many good employees they have lost to private sector with recruitment taking so long Does anyone here have similar story/experience?

  19. Hey guys/gals looking at buying the top end Audio gauges for my F6 but there not exactly cheap, anyone have any experience with them? Are they well built and of a decent quality?

Tbh IMO it wouldn't look terrible, but I think that vented bonnet look is more suited to the FPV front end not so much a series 1 FG XR due to the headlight shape... but in saying that looks are subjective if you like it and think it's good value for money go for it.... The 3.5 is abit quieter and will flow plenty of power.. but if your having trouble finding a 3.5 in NZ or cbf for the hassle just go the 4 inch,, just make sure you don't buy those headers there not for your car

Those headers are for a NA 6 cylinder not For a turbo, stock turbo manifold is fine up to like 500kw....that first system you put the link up for is fine for what you wanna do.. if you want it abit quieter/less drony keep the 4inch dump and get a 3.5 inch catback instead of 4inch... If there is a good custom exhaust shop near you get them to quote you up on making a custom system if it's not to much more your better of going that route... the xforce isn't real bad but the quality isn't great either

Well I ran that engine with 403rwkw on 98 and 500rwkw on e85 (using 98 80% of the time)for 50thousand kays and I didn't baby it..... engine was still going strong only now getting it rebuilt but not due to a failure I just wanna push big power and have the boost come in hard..... It's about as much as people push on factory engines on 98 so it's deffs the upper limit but like I said I had no Issues... the F6s have a different piston to the XRs idk If this helps or not (diff people have diff opinion)
