has anyone to date used or know of anyone who has bought a g-force gearset?? I just stripped 3rd gear in my turbo eb with 470rwhp, and cant afford a 6speed conversion

what, I ask for actual calculations and I get my post deleted?? all I wanted was to separate the theory from the technical data

it certainly should shows how much you know about flow dynamics through an engine then!!!!! no... u are getting confused with volumetric efficiency... which of course, unless volumetric efficiency is doubled, flow will not double.. in simple terms, which you seem quite familiar with... if pressure difference through an object doubles, then flow will be double... eg through a pipe. in your comment regarding "I guess your saying airflow doubles at twice the pressure??????" I do not see any reference there to it being about an engine and yet you say to me "shows how much you know about flow dynamics through an engine then!!!!!"

it certainly should

probably a bit hard in a ba, although ive never tried, but I put my 044 in the tank in my turbo eb, its not noisy at all really

ok, fair enough

im guessing you are getting those fuel economy numbers from the ford trip computer/consumption gauge?? changing the injectors and fuel pressure will throw the consumption gauge out of whack, basically that reads injector pulse time, so can calculate fuel flow, if you allow more fuel flow per ms, then you reduce the ms you need to open the injectors, hence lower economy reading while actually increasing fuel consumption

I understand all that you are saying xlnt6... and, with any luck, my mates car will be cranked up soon, I am extremely eager to see its real world results.. what are your thoughts on the big dollar plenum giving trouble, do you think it may be a softer material, or extremely thin walled?? it certainly appears that it would have to be relatively thin to construct that shape

I beleive 3mm is fine, I will pressure test one to be sure, but like I said, my manifold is made from the same stuff, and has an area probably double the largest flat area of this plenum, it is tough, and hasnt caused any problems with 17psi... as for the big dollar plenum blowing up like a balloon, I have looked at the photos of it, and my opinion is that it is most likely made from very thin material?? considering its shape, even if it is made with a 3mm wall thickness, which I wouldnt think it would be, it is most probably made from a lower grade alloy, that is commonly used in all hammerforming techniques, it is more malleable/soft and also, xlnt6 stated that mr turbos plenum is made from s.s so it is mechanically more rigid... I beg to differ, that plenum is certainly made from alloy. we have a cigweld 200A inveter tig, its an awesome piece of gear to have in your back shed.. does 6mm no worries, I weld the plenum with 100-110A.. it has full digital controls, gaslens nozzles, and a swivel/flexible head.. cost $7.5k with all our accessories

and this

as for what stiffeners have been used, there is no actual bracing internally in it, but, there is two folds across the top of it, and one down each side of the front cone section to the throttle... the folds alone would go a long way to stiffenening the panels perhaps I need to bolt one down and pressure test it?? see just how much flex is in the sides/top what sort of design is your plenum going to be f6?? this is inside my plenum

this is my exhaust manifold

this is my car, a turbo eb, makes 328rwkw on 14psi so far, the plenum is a lot bigger, about 11-12l volume, has trumpet runners inside the manifold... as for air distribution, I have a fuel trim of +9% cyl1 +6% cyl2 +3% cyl3 and -2% cyl6.. with my autronic SM4 it is also made from 3mm sheet alloy, and hasnt given a problem, 3mm is vey tough stuff, no way im ever going to hurt it... as for 30psi boost, if you were running that much, then maybe you could use 4mm, BUT, honestly, how many cars on this forum are running 30psi boost?? id bet probably none... even 20-25psi is a hell of a lot, and I cant see that giving any problems with the plenum located at kadina S.A cheers, brad

not sure on hp differences, the car hasnt been finished yet, it has been driven like that, but is awaiting cooler plumbing/tuning paid $650 for it.

yea, its about 7l plenum volume rouglhy, not much more available space left.
