  1. yes, it's turboed. Absolutely no steel wool or brass bead filter. It has an odd sized pipe to the least lowest side of the can . I've definitely seen cans with baffling, and the brass bead filters. Cheers for the instructions.......cause there are no instructions in the box either. Definitely not impressed with this can.
  2. Today, my oil catch can from ANTZ arrived, after paying for it 40 days ago. This was somewhat soured by how one of the intake pipes has a almighty ding in it. Not having seen these before, I cant see how they would be beneficial, even though people have recommend these. Looking inside, 1 pipe feeds down to the bottom of the can ( about an inch off bottom )( this pipe feeds into the rocker cover, and I would assume, the other pipe ( this inlet is at the top of the can )feeds into ' before throttle '. I would assume once the head of the pipe is buried in crank case oil, the system would only suck in fresh air threw the filter, and do nothing to crank case oil..........or have I got this all wrong.
  3. Hey Guys, what is a good obd2 reader for my FGMK2 XR6T 2014? One that can also clear codes , if needed. I've already had to go to the mechanics twice to clear the codes for an oxygen sensor ( because my XR6 is heavily modded ( dyno at 527 RWHP ) and will be getting the cat bypass module after xmas to stop this code popping up)
  4. Brenton....is this the guy associated that everyone here uses? Even though I've had some bad encounters on evil bay, I have never been left high and dry, thanks to the ebay/paypal protection.
  5. I'm wanting to purchase this unit through ebay, Dose the seller of this unit go by the name 'mongrelfishing'?
  6. It's been 4 months since the last comment on this thread, " is everybody whom has the FG MKII version still happy with they're purchase? "......after going through the 9 pages of this thread I'm very interested in purchasing a unit.........after range ford ( WA ) quoted me $1500 to upgrade just the GPS in my FG MKII. ( LOL )
  7. from my experience, the KM's that are on your current dash cluster, will stay with that cluster and not transfer to a new one. I'm also aware that it's not just a straight swap either, there is some programming to do for your new cluster to work.
  8. Agreed, and this is probably the way I will eventually go, but if we were to play devils advocate........has anybody ( or seen someone ) with the supercharged cluster in a FG2T? I don't want to start down the road for extra gauges, when this may well be a possibility.....and it would be nice and stealthy, without the extra gauges on the middle console.
  9. Cheers 👍 So, they will eventually turn off after a set period of time?..............and if I need to leave my car quickly, and the thermo's are running, can I still arm the car?
  10. Hey, I just got home after a 15 min drive in the hot west aussie sun with aircon on , I pulled up and let the car idle for a quick 15 seconds in the garage and turned it off, and noticed the thermo's were still running. Quite confused with the situation, I turned the ignition back on, and then the thermo's shut off. I've just quickly googled my issue, and found this to be normal for FG's. Is this correct?
  11. Hey guys, Has anybody used an XR8 FGX (SUPERCHARGED) dash cluster in replacement of the FG XR6T dash cluster? My thinking is that the oil pressure gauge should work ( or maybe at least, have to change the oil pressure switch for it to work ), though I would imagine the boost gauge ( would read boost differently between a supercharger vs turbo )and may be reading inaccurately and need an adapter. Thoughts....? lets face it, the fg turbo, needed a better dash cluster than just a standard cluster.............like a variant the fgx supercharged cluster was equipped with. I'm used to replacing the XF GL dash to the XF fairmont ghia dash and only needed to swap the oil pressure switch to gain all the extra readings on that dash.
  12. Today, I learnt that my 2014 MK2 FG XR6T header/overflow tanks is a different design to all other FG's, after trying to bolt up my new header/overflow tank that I bought off evil bay. And I had found out going through 'RANGE FORD' in WA, that 'JEFFERSON FORD' is the only place that currently stocks them, and they dont have many left. So, be quick if you want a new header/overflow bottle before they sell out.
  13. Back again......Currently working through a few gremlins with my 2014 fg xr6 turbo. I have read there have been some updates to the ICC that can be programmed in by 'FORD' for a high price. Is there somewhere on the ICC system to show what system/file/number my system is currently running to see if I need the update.? Thanks👍
  14. Thanks for the tips guys , muchly appreciated. Though , I'm kinda old school and like my pod gauges👍................... For reading trans temp......would it be reasonable to put an adapter/gauge reader in the line that runs from the trans to the cooler. ( yes, I have the cooler mounted to the gearbox still. ) and for reading oil pressure and temp, just use the sandwich plate between the oil filter and block?
  15. Hey again, without changing the factory cooler for the trans to a front mount cooler, is there a specific bung/hole to read the temperature for the 6 speed auto? And without putting and adaptor in the radiator hose to read the engine temp, is there a bung/hole to read the engine temperature? or can I piggyback off a factory sender without causing issue's with the ECU for both the trans temp and engine temp? .................both set-ups would be for electrical gauges... Cheers!!
  16. Not a direct response to the 'battery relocation kit from ANTZ', but it's close. I purchased an oil catch can from ANTZ on the 8th November from ebay. I noticed the tracking number was provided the day after and had been updating to the 24th. ( I've noticed mail delivery has taken upto 3 weeks to cross the country on some occasions ). On the 24th, the tracking number had been replaced with a new number and shown the item 'had been received' on that date. I sent an email asking WTF had happened to my item. My response was ' there was a 15 day handling time for my item and it had been just sent', hence the new tracking number, and no explanation was given to me about the previous tracking number. Seriously pissed, I inspected the whole listed auction and there was nothing written about a 15 day handling time. Then they stated that they can refund my order if I don't want the item sent. Wait ........WTF!!. They've provide 2 tracking numbers for the item and they say that. HAS MY ORDER BEEN SENT ANTZPERFORMANCE or not? So for my one and only encounter with ANTZPERFORMANCE , dont touch them with a 100 foot long dipstick.
  17. cheers.....since my roof lining is still perfect, I'll leave 'well enough alone' until the inevitable fail of the lining starts to sag, and then replace/upgrade to the sunglasses holder....
  18. hey all, having just purchased an FG, I'm new to the whole experience of the car, and have ticked off a lot of things, thanks to this forum. Though, one that stumps me.........I have the standard interior roof lights , though if I was to purchase a roof light with sunglasses holder.........are the holes for the extended size of the bigger sunglasses/light already in the roof lining? or do I have to drill them?
  19. Hey Guys, First time poster with recently purchased 2014 FG XR6 turbo sedan ( 2 weeks ago ), and have been lurking in this forum 'quietly' for a long while, and before buying this beauty.....I had 2 ( 84 + 85 ) XF's and 1998 EL XR8 ( that is for sale )First things first........fuelling the car up seems to be a small issue. I use BP 98, and when I stick the nozzle into the tank to fuel up, I have to hold the nozzle at half throttle to fill the tank or it quickly froths up and stops the pump. Is this normal or do I possibly have a fuel vent blockage somewhere??
