I found a place that will fabricate the brackets and fit a shiny new set of brembo's. ( if that helps ). I just cant figure out the max size of rotors that can fit under the FPV 19 Twists.....
-
Finally found a set of 19 inch FPV Twists, and now will be finally going the brembo upgrade. I've read in several places that the 6 pot brembo's will fit under these wheels, though the question I have - what is the maximum size rotor I can fit under a set of 19 inch twists?

They didnt tell me.........I just saw a drop tray put under the car ( didnt think anything of it at the time ), and noticed my fuel level was low when I drove away.

Hey guys..........I had the issue on my ( in tank ) fuel pump failing in my 2014xr6T. I had it at the tuners , but in the exchange of changing the fuel pump...........I lost upto 20 litres of fuel that pissed onto the ground. What is the reason - why did this happened? Thanks

I thought the FG speedo received its speed reading from the ABS sensor in the front left wheel? unlike being in the gearbox of older falcons.............

3.7.1 is a good solid diff ration for v8's. Ultimately your car will rev more, and burning more fuel is 100% assured. It will definatley give you a bigger/better launch off the line by a huge margin. Though personally, I have a 4.11 ratio in my old XF with a 5 speed ........and she completely jumps of the line , if I let it. Personally, I have played with 3 diff ratio's over 3 different falcons.......and it was all for that extra jump off the line. I had a 3 speed behind my 351 with a ration of 3.7.5.......and she was 4000rpm at 85kPH. I wouldnt push it up to 100kpm often. But u have a 6 speed in the FGX, this will definitely not be a problem for you, though regardless.....you will burn more fuel and the motor will rev more. I haven't seen much info of people playing with the diff rations in FG's and was shocked when I found it to be a 2.73. sh*t...the mighty XF came out with 2.77 or 2.92. But I would expect the ratio was wound back with the FG to give it a bit better fuel economy and help with traction. I guarantee you, whatever ratio you pick, you wont be happy with.......you'll want the next one up, after you get your car back. But If your going to play with the ratio.......don't go to a messily 3.08.......Go upto a bare minimum of 3.27 and have a feel of it.

Hey guys, I noticed for the first time ( during our wet winter ), some water sloshing around in the boot lid when I opened it. I took the spoiler off an noticed the factory foam sealers ( between the spoiler and boot lid ) had deteriorated. I pulled them off and made some custom rubber gaskets ( from a spare bike tube ) to give it a 100% seal , with no chance off leaking again. I had a look inside the boot lid and noticed this ( see attached photo ).............the rubber grommet in the photo is ( 1 of the 2 ) located at the very bottom of the boot lid for reference, usually the drain plugs. It's shiny in the photo due to spraying some fish oil..... Is this some kind of sealant from factory or is it rust...............?

just to add to this forum...........will a set of 4 pot brembo's with 355 rotors fit under a FG 19 inch lux mag?
-
yeah, cheers, in this light , I can definatley see the difference...........I only had a photo of a 'smoke FGX' and was trying to compare it to my FG.( which is petroleum )👍

Hey Guys I'm looking through the factory paint codes of the FG's and FGX's and have noticed that the FG 'PETROLEUM' colour looks very similar to the FGX's 'SMOKE' colour......are they the same , or are they just close to looking the same? Cheers

I did a random check on the door handles today , when I locked the car. They were all secure , then I pressed the fuel cap , and it opened buy about an inch. I thought these locked flush with the car........................? or are they all like this? ( I have a FG 2014 sedan )

Cheers cat007. I tried this as soon as I first noticed the condensation, and found nothing damp or wet. I pulled all the boot liners off, checked the parcel shelf, and all was dry. Having mentioned that I saw the same issue on a FG and BF, I thought this may be a common issue on all FG's.....

Since, WA has been indulged in the greatest rain purge in 50 years.........the few odd times I've had my FG caught out in the rain, I've noticed condensation on the rear windscreen at the bottom, and subsequently my front windscreen has little to none ( after being outside for 12 hours ). I've come across another FG and a BF that also had condensation on the rear windscreen. I've owned several fords between XF - EL models and never had this issue..........is there a design fault that I should be concerned with causing this affect? ( that could ultimately be leading to rusting around the rear windscreen ) For instance........XF's used to rust badly in the sill under the windscreen wipers and around the rear quarter window panel, and most EL's rusted under the sills ( under the doors ), that ran the length of the car. Yes, there are a lot of little other area's, but these are the ones I've had experience with several times. I have come across in this forum earlier, that a missing rubber gromment ( from near the front door hinges can cause water to trickle down the pillar and rust out the bottom and cause major issues if not addressed early. Thoughts anyone?

Just out of curiosity, the auto adjust review mirror ( from those rich G6E's) and they're chrome trimmings ), would a loose review- mirror ( with the complete harness ), plug into a standard FG loom giving complete operation or will they're have to be some custom work required to get it to work?

Hey guys, is it possible to have the front lip attachment made for the MK1 , modded to fit the MK2 2014 bumper? At worst, it should be the same width, though it wont align perfectly with the MK2, it appears with a few mods it may. Has anybody had any experiance with these lip sttachments? I've attached a picture of the lip attachment that I'm talking about. And as well a youtube clip......

HELP - G6E 2012 FG MK2 NA - Engline light came on
Snowbear77 replied to lykag6's topic in Ford 4.0L N/A Discussion
As K31th said........there's nothing there that stands out. You state the oil light came on..........that could mean a dozen things. Gone are the days , where things are simple with cars. Best get it to a mechanic , by towing or driving and have the car scanned. Go from there.................on the off chance, Hows the coolant? any oil in there from the gear box....................? -
FG DASH SPEARS IN CARBON FIBRE
Snowbear77 replied to Snowbear77's topic in Interior & Exterior Workshop
I was only after the front passengers side ( Thanks to one scratch ), but like mentioned above ( From Alpha ), I found a full set that had been hydro dipped and look similar to the factory design. A very happy customer now....cheers guys👍 -
Hey guys, I'm all about keeping the original look of my car, though I have heavy scratch on my passenger side dash spear. I have tried all the polishing tricks to hide it, but have failed. I have bought 2 left sides separately , hoping they would be in better condition or could be polished into perfection, this was not the case. So, before I give up, and just vinyl wrap all my dash spears into a near design of carbon fibre that came with the car, ( I have looked around on ebay, and other sites..... trying to find the same design ). Has anybody come across anywhere that had the same design as my fg XR6 2014? I have attached a photo of my carbon fibre design. cheers.......
