  1. Ok so dunno if you all have seen my other thread, basically I got a new job and it involves me driving 80km round trip to work everyday, my T is gonna chew through a lot more fuel than I'm use to. What I wanna know what will make my car more fuel efficient? Obviously my right foot has the most to do with it but what mods would help. Mods to the car so far: Nizpro cooler Nizpro 4" intake Nizpre battery relocation Nizpro V/springs Dekka 60's Stock exhaust Stock fuel pump Stock actuator/wastegate Makes 250rwkw's safely. Last time I had it on the dyno, I think it was running a tad rich so improvements can be had there. What I wanna know is if I change Cat or cat/dump and retune would that help?. Would it be worth getting a 91 tune? Im not chasing more power as my cars done almost 200,000kms and the 4sp and engine wouldn't like it very much and the last thing I need is to fix anything.. Thought about a cheap daily but don't have room for one and theres 2 regos, 2 insurance and I couldn't stand driving a piece of sh*t everyday. I eventually would want to get an FG xr6t or g6et but that's down the track as I'm building a house atm too.. Anyother ideas as what mods can 'help'? Worse case scenario it public transport but really CBF lol...
  2. Raced a V6 VT cause I knew I would win easy... I did lol... The look on the guys face was hilarious, never get tired of that...
  3. Vertini Magic's are prob my favourite rim so id go with them.. But get them staggered so wider on the rear so you can get more of the concave look
  4. Your tuner obviously knows what he's doing.. Yeah I get where your coming from, id be lucky to get near 10k for my BA so to put the extra for an FG can be quite expensive. But my BA with the kms it has is really feeling its age, noises, things feeling very loose, headlining peeling off and more. It will never have that newish feel again. I love my T but it would take a lot of $$ to get it where I'm happy with it, whereas an FG I can just do the performance mods and be happy and it will last longer be more reliable than the BA.
  5. Cant wait to hear what you think mate. Who's doing the work/tuning? Surge tank/fuel pump and prob actuator/wastegate is whats holding it back from more power I reckon.. My BA has only ever seen max 250rwkw's and have had it for years too.. Think ill buy something new rather than modifying it anymore, its just on 200,000kms so the auto and engine won't like it too much anyway.
  6. Fkn hurt my shoulder at gym again...
  7. I read of FB, a guy for the life of him couldn't find a manual F6 anywhere..
  8. Human Centipede isn't that bad, but Human Centipede 2, that's farked..
  9. 60lb injectors are good for around 400rwkw's they are fine. But as others have said a Surge Tank would be good at this stage too.. Id say you'd get around the 350kw mark as I've read the under battery intakes are at there limit around that power level, throw some more boost at it, 12psi is low, our turbos are just starting to work at that psi hahah, get it up to whatever it will take safely obviously.. Next on the list if I were you and wanted more power would be id1000 injectors, surge if you don't already buy it this round and e85, would make around 30-50rwkw's more, but more importantly make it safer. Awesome car and welcome..
  10. With my nizpro kit I have a fullriver battery like an odyessy but cheaper. For boot mounted you could use either.
  11. If I was in your shoes I'd just get the xr6t or g6et. The mk2 as you said isn't really worth the extra and an F6 id get if I was gonna keep the car and not sell it. Get a nice low km xr6t or g6et, max out the little turbo and wait for the stang.
  12. It would be soo much easier if I wasn't into fast cars.. my mates all drive 'normal' cars and are happy..
  13. My BA is a few thou off 200,000kms.. its really feeling its age. I haven't had a single major issue with it apart from a hole in the radiator, which isn't major at all. She has done well, plus its only running 250rwkw's which helps.. So now I'm thinking of ways to make it more fuel efficient, which the most part comes down to how I drive it, but if I fit an exhaust which is the biggest restriction right now hence only 250rwkw, freeing that up would it be better? Intake and cooler is Nizpro and over kill for my power so not much to free up there? Going to the extreme would be a plenum but can't justify the $$$ cause I'm prob gonna upgrade down the track. So exhaust and retune, maybe even do a 91 tune while there, but will need an Xcal 3 as I'm still on the Xcal1... Don't really want too much more power cause the car will fall apart at its age lol..
  14. Think I'm just gonna suck it up for a while.. The thought of me driving something slow would be frekin depressing, already did that with an old job and had to drive a mitsi express van. Hated that but the fuel card was great. I love driving and my car is a big part of that..
  15. I am so tempted but don't really wanna put myself in that much debt at this time.. Probably around early next year will get a new car or look into another house. My trip will be around 80km round trip everyday.. Another reason why I cbf selling, id get fark all selling the car and its a pain in the ass selling a car got to deal with a lot of wankers. Parking there is free and public transport is free for me too.. Train and then tram means waking up madd earlier than I need to. the jobs hours are all over the shop until I get settled into it which will take approx a year. Im kinda leaning towards: Putting the BA on gas, then upgrading the car eventually and transferring the gas system to the new car. (don't wanna splurge on a new car just yet) Or getting rid of the T and getting into a diesel or a not so sh*tter and drive that for a while. Then house or new car down the track Or seeing how the T goes, it is all freeway driving.. I could do some more mods to the T to make a bit better on fuel, the exhaust is still std so that could free the engine up a bit and it is running a bit rich from when last on dyno for checkup.. Maybe a 91 tune?
  16. Yeah Pat I can see the mod thing happening already, its got to have a nice stereo and wheels to offset the lack of power lol.. Also forgot to mention the initial cost of the daily too.. Was kinda thinking outside the box and maybe sell the T and get a VW diesel or something? Diesel is more expensive than unleaded fuel but I put BP98 and that sh*t is cray cray even on the 'cheap' day.. Still got a nice car, not as quick but could be fun and get good kms... But I'm 6'3 and 110kg, so dunno how that will work haha.. Not really fussed about the T tbh, id love a G6ET something newer..
  17. I know the question is a bit situation specific, but just want a general idea. Is a daily driver worth it? I just got a new job near the city and my T is my current daily. My job now allows me to fill up once a week, I work close to home and what ever I get up to on the weekend, still once a week ~$70. Now with this new job driving to the city and back everyday around 35min each way (no traffic, with traffic on the monash who farkin knows how long) my fuel usage at a guess is gonna be a bitch. The new job pays more but with the extra fuel it won't be that great.. Is having a daily worth the extra rego and insurance is basically what I'm asking? What cars are good daily's? Little corolla or something on gas? I wouldn't put my T on gas, it wouldn't be worth it (2003 BA with 200,000kms) Gas system worth more than the car lol... Any info welcome..
  18. Under my bonnet is all Nizpro. Intake, battery relocate and cooler, I'm just missing the plenum, but one day will have one haha.. I got all my gear second hand so I couldn't resist the price for great quality stuff. For other options look at the usual companies like PW, Plazmaman etc.. they all have their own versions they run and they all work well.. Even boot mounted is an option to look at, when done properly its legal and frees up heaps of space in the bay..
  19. Going by what I've only read, the V8's get great numbers with minimal mods, but the Turbos are generally quicker, but hey with a decent wallet anything can be faster..
  20. Fair enough mate its your car... Dunno how all of that ties in with the 'stock as can be look' lol..
  21. Don't think you can use the stock air box? The piping for the cooler to plenum would be in the way right.. people use turbo side intakes when using plenums, so any of the main companies intakes would work..
  22. I guess I'm with others that think 1000$+ is a lot for basically a container and a fuel pump.. I know theres more to it obviously, but the 'normal, not so car minded' person would see it as this, then you smack on a $1000+ price tag on it. If there was a cheaper option just as good they would make a killing, but if there was a cheaper option just as good it would have come out by now right?
  23. Back on the creatine and getting more reps in at slightly higher weight... Do you have to cycle off it? I read you don't...
  24. Watched the new 300 movie.. I quite liked it, was better that what I thought it was gonna be. If you liked the first, it won't disappoint. Also watched The Raid 2. If you haven't watched the first movie get on it. Part 2 has prob the best fight scenes I've ever seen in a film, the story isn't as good as the first, its almost like its only there to set up the next fight scene. Its kinda slow but by the end, I was left like WTF...
