  1. Pretty sure the handbook says 98 recommended, 95 is OK, 91 emergency only, or something to that effect, and that's factory tune.
  2. Geezus! That's one hell of an inspection! I won't be going there either then 🤣
  3. You could ring IPV (Issac Performance Vehicles) in Taupo, they're the Herrod franchise in NZ, I haven't had any dealings with them myself but they do a lot of Falcons and have been for 20+ years, I'm thinking of making the trip up from Wellington for my next tune to hit the 400 mark.
  4. Where abouts in NI are you mate?
  5. Yeah forgot to mention I did use some sealing goop that I can't remember the name of just at the moment
  6. It might pay to take it out, do the measure and then you at least know how far it had to screw in, it will leak forsure if not seated. It was a little nerve wracking as I didn't want to strip the thread on my brand new turbo, @JETURBO had same issue with one he installed, his good advice to the rescue yet again!
  7. This may or may not be useful but just regarding the fitting that came with your turbo mate, when I got my Aeroflow 6662 turbo, (which are reportedly made by pulsar? Not sure on that though) It came with a fitting that also had a warning in the box saying "YOU MUST USE SUPPLIED FITTING OR ELSE BAD SH!T WILL HAPPEN!" So I used it, and thought I had it seated and done up tight enough, but it leaked oil when I started it, turns out it was nowhere near in far enough, I took it out, measured the depth down to seat on turbo then measured and marked fitting up to where it should be and reinstalled, it was uncomfortably tight but got it in and hasn't leaked since.
  8. Yes it is, ol mate gave me 2, one measured 130mm from under the head, the other 140mm, I used the 140 just to make sure all the threads left in the head were going to be used. On further inspection today it appears my leak is coming from lower on the timing case, behind the ps pump somewhere, job for another day, it's stuff all anyway at the moment. Point being the longer bolt should work fine, maybe just torque to slightly less by 2 or 3 NM? Shouldn't be an issue.
  9. Mine stripped as well, still had half the thread left in the head though, went to local bolt shop and got a longer one no probs at all, just with a normal hex head though, installed it and torqued up, just as it got to 17nm I think it is, the farkin thing decided to start stripping again! I stopped and just left it alone hoping it was tight enough for the goop to seal up, it was fine for awhile but I have a slight oil leak now and suspect its coming from timing cover where that bolt is, will pull cover and helicoil the head when I get around to it, dam head material must be pretty soft.
  10. Just my 2 cents, but I tried one of the ryco ones, it was shorter than factory one so I flagged it and went genuine
  11. Gota love the build up to a full send tune! Bloody exciting stuff mate 👍
  12. Still pontificating turbos I see Richard 😆 @Slowxr6t I'll see where mine hits full boost at next dry road day
  13. Yep, Penrite 10w50 full syn for me, even comes in a handy 7 litre pack
  14. Wonder who makes the Antz ones...?
  15. It's a big fiddly Richard but not difficult by any means, just spin engine over and line each one up like normal, you'll probably have to operate more on feel than sight, it's a bit tight up in there, just don't go dropping any bolts when yr re installing them, there's a pro tip right there... 😅
  16. I'm from Kapiti, my mate purchased a BA tuned at TMS, it's around 320rwkw and goes pretty good. I've not had any work done at Prestige but they seem like a pretty switched on outfit, @canedkyddseems to rate them. I had mine tuned in Fielding by Keith Stewart, got 407rwkw and then settled on 381rwkw tune to help the driveline live a little longer. We haven't got the same luxury over here as Straya has with several really good Barra tuners.
  17. Nice, 12s forsure. I wanted to get to that meet as well but unfortunately can't. Try not to break anything 😄
  18. I used a guy in Fielding. Be good to see what result you get
  19. Where you getting yr tune done?
  20. I'm running stock bov vented to atmosphere through a small k&n vent filter. It doesn't sound to obnoxious at all really. Definitely nothing like a ricey one. I'm running about 15psi and seems to work fine for now. Not sure if it's even legal here in NZ but I don't really give a crap. The alternative tu tu tu tu tu tu sound is not for me. Plumbing back to the inlet with turbo side intake is not the look I want either, to much hose!
  21. So I finally got my engine back in and tuned with an Aeroflow 6662 (GTX 3582 G2 equiv.) Stopped at 407rwkw and 790nm, 16psi on 98, fuel pump would have run out of puff otherwise, it's only a 320lph item. More in it otherwise I think. Took it back to 380ish and 750nm to help the standard driveline live a little longer... It was on a hub dyno so probably have to drop a few points off for that I guess but it still goes really farkin good! Pretty happy with how the turbo has performed so far, will just have to see how it goes from here...

    My Build

Freakin epic build Juan! 😁 I've just finished reading, start to finish, couple hours at least of pure car porn! Makes my little FG 407rwkw build seem very inadequate 😮 Keep posting mate, this is how people like me learn stuff and I can also sympathize with the trials and tribulations of car building, I've not long completed my old XA build, stoker clevo and t5, with astro a5 gear set, some trying times there to I must say but it's great to turn key and drive now... but, like you, there has been and probably still will be upgrades, are they ever really finished??
  23. I used the Antz kit also on my FG and it all went in nicely, even kept the filter which I haven't had a problem with... yet.
  24. A trolley jack collector of course
  25. As opposed to 2 bottle jacks?
