hopefully that's it because it wont have that exhaust in new car bought it for engine swap id find it very strange if that was the reason but as it has an aftermarket dump on it seems to be atleast 4 inch and then it has a system that goes to 4 tips

was it ever found out where this noise is coming from as I have the same noise on a car I just got it spools normal but when u get to full boost it makes a total diffrent noise like a boiling kettle really loud
