Hey Cobrav8 you said NZ T's come with premium sound systems bigger colour ICC etc can you explain more, does NA XR6 not have colour ICC? and do there cd players play CD-R discs
-
Ok I have accepted the fact that fuel consumption may be a bit high and I am prepared to pay extra $ in fuel to have the T. My last question is... I have heard that all XR6T's 2002 to 2006 in NZ come with Premium sound system is this true? Hope theres a few kiwis on here... Cheers

Spend more time on here and you will save fuel consumption
-
*sigh* the issue here is that my car drinks more fuel than another of the same type of car or even ones that have been modified. ← You really need to get it checked out, I have read a lot of forums on this subject and you should have an average of about 14lt/100 the way you drive it but like it has been stated before these are high preformace cars even my EF XR6 with my foot to the floor I can watch the fuel gauge drop in seconds but that's why I bought it. I read somewhere Ford claim 12.3lt/100 for the XR6T easy driving. What are your K's, fuel consumption does get better once run in.

Do you think there is much difference in fuel consumption between the turbo and NA when driven easy?

As for the warranty I was going to get an extended warranty through Wanganui Motors(Ford) but my last one was Sh#t and this Guthrieholden are giving it to me for free. Insurance is another issue.... my current Fintel wont insure me 1. Have to get five star alarm 2. Has to be in a locked garage (I have carport with locked gates across it) But they put me onto Insurance Direct still need 5 star alarm which Ill have to get but carport is cool oh and both said no one under 25 but that's cool and its only $5 a week more than I pay now Finance sorted... All I need now is the XR6T.....

Yellow? I dont think so. But na you are right I get your point and I really do have to stick to my limit and I said from the start I will only spend $25 and should be able to get one (Blueprint.lol) with about 30.000 on it for that. Another thing is I have just been reading some other posts on fuel consumption and and I am a bit worried about what these things use 15-16ltr/100 does seem high yet some are a bit lower, I will use mine everyday to work and back 12km each way and just cruising around Wanganui (days off) with the odd long trip, I'm starting to think maybe a NA XR6 now I'm running a few trials on my EF XR6(manual), see what I get, last 17ltrs I got 150km but that was with a bit of heavy foot driving now and then and today I asked for 11ltr service station guy looked at me sideways but I will see what I get easy driving. What do you get out of yours CobraV8? Cheers... Jason.

Ok Been offered 03 XR6T Blueprint with 17.000k's 0n the clock for $29.000 kind of set my limit at $25.000 but was looking at 40 to 50.000k's on clock for that. Is it worth the extra $4.000? Also get free GuthrieHolden Warranty(because I'm buying from a Expensive Daewoo dealer) which is 3 years from purchase date or 175.000k's which covers replacement of EVERYTHING but Tyres, brakepads and wear and tear comes with all cars they sell for free. What do you think this 03 XR6T is really worth? should I buy it or what? Cheers... Jason

Got a call today, car dealer has 3 XR6T's to choose from 2 Red and one Silver, "but no Blueprint, WHAT! Red is ok as I drive a red XR6 now and the first BA to catch my eye was the Venom Red but the more I've seen the more I want Blueprint. Heres a pic of my good old EF I really will miss it.

Hi All My name is Jason and Im from NZ currently I drive a 95 EF XR6 manual (Red) and it has been an awesome car, always wanted to trade up since but never liked the AU's then came the BA's and I thought YES that's me and now 3 years later the time has come I am going to get one but I just wanted a bit more info on them so did a Google search read lots of articles and found this site which has convinced me even more that the XR6T is the car for me. Cheers to everyone and thanks for the help.
-
Hell I'm convinced Im going to get one and it has to be Blueprint

What sort of troubles could you have with the turbo, I here everyone talking about extending warranties and it being worth the money, is this because the turbo is so expensive to fix and does have minor problems?.....
-
Hi all Can you buy a extended Ford warranty from a Ford dealer even if you did not buy the car there? As I am looking at getting my XR6T from a Expensive Daewoo dealer crazy I know but only because I know the guy as he sold me my first XR6 and has been pretty good to me then he changed over to a Expensive Daewoo dealership. Cheers

Another question.... Are the 03 and 04 XR6 bodys the same and same body kit etc or are they a bit different I thought they were the same but the more I look at them the more I think the 04 is better maybe I am just seeing things or its just a colour illusion. Cheers... Jason.

Good point, I like your thinking.
-
yeah you are right mate, I have put pen to paper and and it does not really work out that good. So I will purchase a $25.000 XR6T trade my XR for $6.000 and owe $25.000 with interest HELL you only live once. and driving a XR6T................PRICELESS
-
Im thinking the way vehicles are devaluing Leasing might be the way to go in 4 years an 03 XR6T that cost me $25k, $19k with trade and $25K again with interest will only be worth what maybe $10 - 12.000. My 95 XR6 cost me $22k all up and now its worth $6.000, that sucks some Leasing benifits can be... No Rego or WOF costs Serviced for free Tyre replacement depending on lease term 24hr breakdown cover and replacement if needed. Not sure about insurance but I guess that's covered to as what would you care its not your car. and BEST OF ALL you get to drive the latest XR6T every 2 years or so. Terms range from min of 12 months to 45 months max and all you need to do is estimate your annual kms They say its more for a small bussiness or the self employed but I dont know so much. It just makes me wonder now my car is worth $6.000 and cost me $22.000
-
Where it has been driven might be a hard thing to tell but thanks for the advise, I'm not rushing into this purchase like my last one but nearly bought an XR6T today after taking it for a drive 'AWESOME car' but I dont like the Acid Rush so much really set on getting a Blueprint Ford motors gave me the Colour chart for the new BF range and I like the Icon and Wired but I still think Blueprint is the best
-
140kph in my old EH Holden 160kph in my XC Falcon 185kph in my EF XR6 Manual and I dont think it had much more in it without ending up like my Subaru Which I crashed at 110kph (damm front wheel drives) I will beat all these when I get a XR6T, not that I will but at least I will know I can is enough for me. Take care all, Speed kills

Thanks again, The more I read the more I want a T its just a lot of money $25.000 so I want to get it right and I have always driven manuals but this time I am prepared to go to the auto with S/shift because sometimes I wish I had an auto but still love manuals and this way I'd kinda have both yeah? but like I said I dont think the manuals are so good in the 03, the 6 speed yes but that's a different price and year. Just hope Im doing the right thing $25.000 on a car, theres always driving my EF till the end but then I figure you only live once and FORDS are cool except AU's of cousre. Thanks I love this site you guys.....and Gals are great Have asked for a 03/04 XR6T, Blueprint and yeah they said the T comes with prem sounds with 6 cd stacker (Sounds are a big thing for me) with under 40.000 k's on clock and Ian reckons can get me one, they have offered me $6.000 trade for mine which I paid $15.000 4 years ago (no value in cars) so Ill owe $25.000 but to Drive a 03 XR6T with about 30.000kms on the clock..........PRICELESS! PS:I Have also thought about going for the Lease option.?

HEY! Thanks to everyone for your your help its been great and YES I have made up my mind I am going to hunt for a XR6T. I went to work today and a workmate said he had a mate that was selling his 2005 BA XR6 in mint condition with 11k on the clock for $24.000 and I had to say thanks but Im going for an XR6T now. I really do want the 240kw its a bit like my EF XR6 after I got it every time I saw the same model XR8, I wished I had got that instead. So... the XR6T it is. Thanks again everyone that's all I needed a bit of a push from all you guys and gals who drive them. As well as looking privately I have a Car Dealer mate who has been getting me lists of 2003/04 NA XR6's that all have under 20k on them for around $24.000 NZ which I think is a fair price so I will ask him tomorrow to throw a T on the end and see what happens... For the $25.000 I want to spend I would say I will have to settle for an 2003 XR6T with low kms I CANT WAIT THANKS ALL! Jason. PS: What does NA stand for?

Thanks Cobrav8 that was very helpfull. Im from Wanganui I think I will get a XR6T or yeah you are right I will spend the rest of my days wishing I had. Im looking at spending $25.000 so I will see what I can get. My XR6 is a manual and I would like to get another but I heard the manuals are a bit clunky and that the Autos with S/Shift are pretty good. Thanks again for your help. Jason
