Hi all, I was wondering if anyone could help? I have a 03 XR6T auto and when I start car first thing in the morning and it is cold I accelerate to about 30-40 kph and get a low groaning noise coming from the back, I then travel about 300-400 metres and brake for a corner and then accelerate again to about 30-40 kph and get the same noise again it only does this a few times till its warm but enough to be annoying. I thought it was my brakes to begin with but had them checked and they are fine, I am now beginning to think its the diff? Can anyone help THX

Hell I thought this forum would help but I'm just more confused than ever I have had Castrol GTX Protec 15-40 in my T since I owned it and change every 10.000km I'm at 40.000km now and was looking into a fully syn oil and from what I can tell Nulon 10-40 seems the best option, one thing though is it available in New Zealand. My other options were either Castrol magnetic or castrol edge and would NZ conditions make a difference? it can be cold here at times. THX

Hi, need some help I saw this on a Turbo listed online in NZ and love the turbo Badging on the side but can't find it anywhere been to Ford and they have never seen it, just thought I'd see if anyone could help? Cheers Not sure if the photo I added will show but will try again if not

Hi again, I have a 03 xr6t and I have just clocked 21k and it has been awesome apart from my coolant problem, I have read through the manual but nowhere does it say what coolant or any fluids for that matter that I should be using except windscreen washer fluid which since I topped up does not work all the best now, it just says to refer to the customer assistance, warranty and service guide which I do not have or did not get. Could someone give me a list of oil, coolant, brake fluid, diff oil etc I should be using for best performance, Thanks

Hey thanks all, Love this site. I still have pictures to come but I might clean it first and in the end it just looks the same as all other 2003 Blueprint XR6T's the only thing I get commented on apart from the speed is the K's just hit 20300Km Thanks again an Go FORDS

Its just that the Traction control and Fog lights buttons on the other side are lit up so it got me wondering apart from this small issue if it is one even, what an awesome car this was not an upgrade I gone from a 95 XR6 to a Rocket UNREAL Thanks again for the help

Hey all its been awhile since I was last here I have been to busy driving my awesome new Turbo but I have a question so here I am to ask all the experts... Just concerning the dash lights.... I have only just noticed this after owning my Turbo for 3 months now but are the fuel and boot buttons behind the right side of the steering wheel suppose to be lit up when the lights are on, I thought they use to be but maybe I was wrong your help would be most appreciated. XR6T Best decision I ever made.

Thanks mate I really appreciate your advice, I have been looking 24/7 and it has been really hard to find exactly what I want this is the closest so far apart from the auto but like I said I have heard to many bad things about the T5 manual and thought the auto with s/shift could be quite fun I dont think I can get that Blueprint for what I am prepared to pay so I will keep looking anyway I am considering other colours now... Venom Red, Mercury Silver and Black. Blueprints seem to be rare well I have seen a few but all have had the blue/green Fleck interior which I dont like at all but I really do like the blueprint colour. what are your thoughts on leather? hot in summer, cold in winter I imagine I was going for the Deluxe (Black & Grey Fleck) looks good. I am looking at selling my XR6 privatly now but I think I would only get $6000 anyway pretty high K's at 204,000 would even consider $5000 for a quick sale I have also had a couple of people offer me an 03 and 04 on my auctions I have listed the 04 sounds good but 2 things I'm not to sure about its Black(Hot and hard to keep clean) and has Leather interior he wants to swap my car and $21,000. Anyway thanks again cobra when I get a T I would love to cruise to Wellington meet and have a beer with ya. Cheers mate.

Hey cobrav8 Just one more question on fuel... what should XR6 Turbos be run on here in NZ 95? and if they have been run on 91 would it have done any damage or do they run on this ok and could I just start using 95 or would I have to get fuel system cleaned out? have my eye on a blueprint on trademe but I think it has been run on 91 for its 32000km Thanks cobrav8

I have never owned a black car before and was just wondering if anyone driving a black 240T could let me know how hot does it get in these things in the summer compared to lighter coloured cars? I just been looking at a Black 2004 XR6T Cheers

I just want to keep it stock. You got me thinking now, I had decided on a auto but I would love a manual but I am having enough trouble trying to find the right T now throw a manual in the mix will make it even harder to find yeah? and like I said I have heard the T5 are not so good with the whinning clunking etc and thought I could still have the same fun with the s/shift in the auto. But I will drive a few more and maybe it will all come clear.

yeah well I have always loved manauls and my current xr6 is a 5 speed manual but I have heard that the 03/04 BA xr6 manuals are a bit clunky and not so good so I was willing to covert to an auto with s/shift as I thought I would kind of have the best of both worlds

Thank you all for all your help I have made up my mind and everything is sorted and ready to go, fianance, Insurance the works, all I need now is to find the T. If any fellow Kiwis see any good deals out there let us know. I have turned 2 Blue Print XR6T's down just due to the interior, I dont like the greeny/blue fleck at all so I have been looking for the Deluxe otherwise I would own one already. I will have to change username when I get my new T as I will no longer be jasonxr695 anymore Thanks again all if it was not for you all I would now be driving a 182kw XR6 wishing I had a Turbo Cheers Jason
