    Not needed if you're using stock heat shield. It won't make your turbo perform better. Heat management is a massive reliability issue when you deviate from the stock hot side, so it's good you're thinking about it

    I have the turbo beanie, and wastegate beanie too, plus wrapped dump pipe. Seems ok, haven't melted anything. Stock manifold and heatshield is excellent though, you need to think carefully about upgrading from that.

    Latest upgrade - custom catch can! Super happy with it. Made by AT Performance https://atperformance.com.au/ here in Brisbane. It's 3L capacity (CAMS spec) internally baffled with an AN6 drain and replaceable filter. Was 3D scanned, laser cut, perfect tig welds. If anyone is interested, get in touch with Adam, he's a true professional. So much better than the standard catch can that bolts up behind the drivers side strut tower, or the Empire one.

    Sounds similar to mine. VCT makes things difficult. Part throttle tuning is definitely the tough bit!

    Ok, I have a tree out the front spewing flowers all over my driveway, so no fresh wash. But here are a couple of pics anyway. Has all new plastic front bar, grill, guard plastics, rear bar, headlights and tail lights - all OEM Ford. Cheeky GT wing. And as many new rubber trims as I could find. Spent some time today cleaning and tidying stuff, and did an oil change. Swapped back to OEM coolant overflow tank - I like being able to see how much coolant is in there, unlike the metal one.

    Got her back finally! I'll clean it up tomorrow and take some pics. So much dust everywhere. Installed the new rocker cover, I'm happy with how it's turned out, for now.

    Hi mate, it's normal to hear the turbo wheel still spinning when you turn the car off. There is a difference between hearing it spinning freely, and metal grinding however. Unfortunately you need someone experienced to tell you the difference - nobody on a forum can tell you without hearing it

    Painter is taking their time... Was meant to be 3 weeks, it's almost 4 months now. This may be controversial, but I've painted up this rocker cover and got this coil cover made up to go over the platinum R35 coil kit. Everything else in the engine bay is black, so I thought I'd try something a bit different. I'll fit when I finally get it back.
