  1. Don't waste time on reassembly until you pressure test. Don't give up! You've come so far!
  2. Man, I reckon your head needs pressure testing
  3. So I've pulled the rear cradle out and I'm going to town on replacing all bushes while I've got the knuckles out for these new axles. But I have a question about the diff axle seals. Is there an alternative to the Ford ones, which seem to cost $60 each? It seems excessive for just a piece of rubber. Is there a repco equivalent that anyone has used?
  4. The mystery continues! Good job getting amongst it
  5. It comes with Mal Woods short shift assembly, and I have a Hurst shifter to go on that. I'll have to do some research on ignition cut. I'm assuming I need a pressure switch somewhere.
  6. Is anyone doing any fancy tuning for manual drag racing? I'm wondering if ignition cut on gear change would minimise mis-shifting and help the syncros?
  7. Staunch times. I might give it a go for curiosity
  8. Functionally yes. The F6 motor might have slightly different pistons, still cast though. And the cams in the F6 motor are also slightly different. FG cams are meant to be slightly better, but suffer lobe wear that the BA/BF cams don't seem to
  9. Looks like coolant? Doesn't look ideal either way 😬
  10. Yeah, I had a mystery misfire that was traced back to that. But generally, the wiring looms are starting to deteriorate with age and heat. Might even be a dodgy injector plug
  11. Have a look at your cam sensors and plugs. Particularly the one up the back of the motor
  12. What causes a typical rocker failure? Limiter?
  13. So T56 Magnum is happening. With a Mal Wood twin plate. Already got single piece alloy tailshaft and IMS diff hat. Just need to fit the billet axles. Should handle the G35-900 when it eventually gets turned up.
  14. 1000s are definitely enough for what you have
  15. Goes to show how strong those spool rods are. Must have been a fair detonation event to destroy the piston. Really interested to see the diagnosis. And the rebuild!
  16. Sorry to hear man. Super impressive development work you've achieved
  17. Looks great mate. 285kw? She needs some more supporting mods!
  18. Haha not after an auto. I hear what you're saying. Problem is, good TR6060s aren't easy to come by, and people want $4k for them, condition unknown. I'm not even sure I'm in danger of breaking the T56 at 600rwkw, although I'm a little worried about the low down torque from the G35-900 killing it.
  19. I should clarify, the current tune is turned way down to like 15psi, and I kept it there even with the new fuel system. Need built motor to turn it up. In the meantime, I'm happy to have something still relatively fast, but reliable. What are people's thoughts on T56 Magnum??
  20. I think they just adjusted the fuel trims. It made the same power apparently. The Haltech is brilliant for self learning to fix any little imperfections in idle and fuelling in driving conditions that can't easily be replicated on the dyno. And the driveability of those 1500cc injectors is no different to 1000cc. Agreed on the IC7, keen to get that up and running in the next few months
  21. Just upgraded the fuel system. Plazmaman twin feed rail. Twin -8 feeds, single -6 return through Turbosmart FPR2000. Bosch 1500cc injectors. Already had plazmaman surge/twin pump setup, with flex fuel sensor plumbed in somewhere in between. Seems to run flawlessly. The 540kw the car saw on 20psi had the 1000cc injectors reaching their limit, so I removed that future limitation. Also got 1400hp axles to install. The repco ones started clicking after last track day... Lastly, got a 3d printed dash insert to suit IC7. Might install that one down the track. Slowly slowly progress continues.
