  1. Bit of a delay. PPR kit is in. The Elite 2500 has to go back to Haltech to work out a couple of connection issues. It's never simple...
  2. I have similar timing chain/tensioner noises. It's pretty common with stiffer valve springs. I wouldn't worry too much
  3. Cruise control, that's weird. When someone ruins your car, just rebuild it from scratch. That's what I've done haha
  4. I like the idea of bonnet vents. Interesting issue you've had. Do you know what fault codes you were getting with the Haltech?
  5. I dropped the PRP R35 coil kit over this morning (and FG rocker cover). It should allow a bit more boost to be fed in. Limiting factor will be rear housing and turbo shaft speed. Stay tuned.... @joncitizen pedal feel is lighter than the single plate. There is a bit of chatter, but its reducing every time it's driven during break in. Twin plate is the only option at this power level, and this is not a bad one so far. Could do a drive through easily.
  6. Happy Australia Day to you! Forgetting the politics involved, let us all have a moment to lament the death of Australian car manufacturing. Among many great things condemed to the history books.
  7. Mal Wood option 5 twin plate. It feels good after run in.
  8. Only half sent so far. It will take more. The tuner reckons he can get 25psi into the midrange and it will trail off up high. We shall see! Oh, and I'll have to take some footage at the next happy laps. Looks like it might fry 4th gear coming on, which isn't ideal on the street haha
  9. Progress report. 530kw @ 21psi. It comes on even earlier and harder than run in tune. I'll post a comparison when it's all finished, but it looks like it will be a handful. Running out of rear housing (it's only a 1.01). Expected this. And ignition issues are creeping in. Looks like I'll have to throw the PRP R35 kit in, and look at a bigger rear housing later on.
  10. Car is in for full send tune lads. Hopefully I've got some good news in a week or so. Only issue I had during run in period was some crank position sensor gremlins. I replaced the sensor with a new genuine one and it made no difference, so I'm hoping it's a Haltech settings thing
  11. Nice work mate. I wouldn't worry about the block
  12. that's not genuine. Hang onto that warranty! There seems to be some okay options around at the moment though, hopefully yours is one on them
  13. Is the turbo you bought a copy, or genuine Garrett?
  14. It flares out immediately after the connection point mate
  15. Penrite 10 Tenths full synthetic ftw
  16. You're right, it is fast. But it's a different kind of fast compared to a stock engine feeding the boost in slowly, and maybe hitting 500rwkw. This is a bit more of a handful on the street, which is what I wanted
  17. I'll see what I can do 😉 But this is a good example of low down response making one of these cars feel fast, even though its only at 450kw
  18. Run in seems to be going ok so far. Few little teething issues, as expected. The extra response is very noticeable. Third gear coming on boost blazes the rears now. Might not seem like much to auto owners who can get the wheels spinning in first or second and keep it going through the gears. Big difference to feeding it on in gear without a torque converter, and overwhelming 275 NT05 semi slicks
  19. You probably can't see in the photo, but I got the engine bay painted while the engine was out. Looks soooo much better. Got the IC-7 hooked up in a temporary location. I have an insert to place it into the dash cluster location, but the wiring for indicators and fuel sender will be a future project. Getting a few km on the drivetrain. Gearbox is loosening up slightly and shift quality improving. The Haltech self learning is improving idle target and drop between gears and fuel trim is getting better every time. Next job is to dump the run in oil (Penrite 15W-40 run-in). I'll run another 500km with a fresh lot of that same oil. It'll get some slightly thicker synthetic oil before it gets back on the dyno, which might quieten it up a little too. The 15W-40 seems to have lower oil pressure than I'd like. Sits at around 40psi cruising at 2000rpm, and gets up to 70psi in the upper rpm. I'd like to see an extra 20psi with a 15W-50 or 20W-60. I think the oil pressure is very similar to when I tried 10W-40 with the stock motor, and it ended up being spot on with 15W-50, so I'm not too concerned. I also have a PRP coil kit to go in. Working away on an FG rocker cover - shaving the bits I don't need, and I need to get some AN10 fittings welded on.
  20. Thanks lads. Looking forward to working through the next set of issues when I gets turned up haha. Loving the sound of it. 4" turbo back is brilliant, and I think the 4" vs 3.5" dump has helped bring it on slightly earlier than before. Hard to tell though, lots of changed made together
  21. Ok, here is a dyno graph from the run in. Zero timing, zero boost control. As you can see, it's very responsive. The valve train is noisy but the cams have changed the sound of the car by a fair bit. Sounds more JZish. Seems to have drastically increased fuel consumption too haha. The T-56 Magnum is super tight, it feels great, but the new twin plate is taking a bit to get used to. Time to put some kms on it...
  22. Yeah, those are the offsets. No issues with rubbing. They're pretty conservative fitment wise
  23. I've got 18x8.5 front, 18x9.5 rear RPF1s. They clear front 6 piston brembos, but the rear 4 piston brembos required a 5mm spacer
