  1. I haven't got one yet since it's still a kind of work in progress. Tuner has a fair bit of comparison data. Will see if I can get some. For example, difference between unopened and built motor = 180rwkw @ 3000rpm
  2. Nah, no shaft speed sensor, should probably get one... I haven't driven it yet. Waiting on the MAP sensor and told them to change the turbine housing while they were at it. Vbands make it easy. I expect it'll be lively haha
  3. I reckon the turbine wheel is probably out of flow. I'll be surprised if it hits 600kw, but I think I'll lose 300rpm spool. Best I'll do is maybe get it to hold 25psi, but in serious danger of overspinning the turbo. It seems to be super efficient up to around 20psi. A lot of Rb guys have been disappointed in the G series, but the barra loves it
  4. So I'm going to do a back to back between the 1.01 and 1.21 turbine housing. Any predictions? Very interested to see how much spool is given up to reduce backpressure up high.
  5. Yeah, I wanted the IC7 dash, ease of wideband control, self learning function, data logging etc. I had a PCMTEC tune before the Haltech, and I had issues with misfiring, which wasn't the PCMTEC's fault, it was the rubbish tuner. But it turned me off anyway
  6. Looks awesome. What turbo are you low mounting? Never got there I'm afraid, but I've been out on QR, and I'll definitely get to some cars and coffee type events this year, and may run it down willowbank, just so see MPH.
  7. The thing about building a barra is that in terms of cost, there isn't a huge difference between building something capable of 600hp vs 1000hp. And to be honest, if you choose parts wisely, 1200hp isn't too much of a stretch.
  8. Its got a 1.01 on there, and I have the 1.21 ready to swap out if needed. I'll probably do a back to back once I've had it on the track. Assuming I don't break the crank or something haha
  9. I've definitely achieved what I set out to. Balance of response and power to match the upper end of what you want to put through a manual trans. It may end up being a little bit too much down low, but we shall see. Not thrilled about the backpressure issue, purely from a reliability perspective
  10. Couple of results have come through. Tuner was able to pump 29psi into the midrange, but its tapering to 21psi up top. Definitely out of turbine. Still managed to touch around 580kw, and he said it makes 1200Nm at 3000rpm or something ridiculous. It just needs an upgraded MAP sensor before I take it back. I've got a larger turbine housing to put on later down the track if I want to shift the powerband a bit higher
  11. @Don Kedick if TBRE turn around is good, it's a no brainer, sorry. His engine will be superior to a Street Torquer at the same price point everyday, and that's not even taking into account the local support available
  12. Haltech is back - USB connection port was replaced as far as I know. Hopefully car will be back on the dyno this week and the R35 coils allow a bit more boost to be crammed in
  13. Sounds awesome mate, good luck with the tune!
  14. Hey mate, your old broken engine isn't worth much. You can buy functional barras for $6-800. The rule when dealing with workshops is to use whatever they recommend. This covers you from a warranty perspective. If you go out on your own, any problems will become yours to sort. The problem you'll have is turn around time from TBRE. You'd have to ask FP if they are happy to use Atomic, it's that simple. And get them to spec everything according to goals, and what you're prepared to pay.
  15. What Puff said - there is a big difference between limiting boost and torque on a stock engine with a bigger turbo, to sending it on a built motor. I can attest to this with my G35-900... the boost and torque it makes at 3000rpm would destroy a stock motor. And driveline. 8474 looks awesome. Wholeheartedly endorse sending it and reporting back
  16. The 9174 spools quicker than a GTX3582 gen 2 also, and make more power. 8374 looks great too, but I think it will choke in the higher rev range. Could be wrong. Do you have built motor and driveline to handle the low down torque? You can't fully send a GTX3576 gen 2 without it, let alone anything bigger and more responsive
  17. I think the EFR is still superior, but price and fitment are definite drawbacks. 9174 is the pick
  18. Really curious to see how this goes. I think low mount for heat management and dump pipe ease is a great idea. I've always wondered how the split single wastegate goes.
  19. Dude. That is going to rip!!!
  20. Someone needs to try the G40 1050. I reckon it's the pick for 1000hp street car. I wonder how the barra responds to the extra turbine flow compared to something that revs a bit higher?
  21. She comes on early mate - looks nice and healthy
  22. I'm a big fan of the factory GT3582R to be honest. Amazing response and power potential. It's hard to beat to 400kw on e85. The pulsar and aeroflow turbos seem pretty good too, they probably make sense from a cost perspective when you're looking to upgrade
  23. My bad. Impressive list. It looks like you too are looking to address timing gear and head noise? Or is it all to allow it to rev harder?
