  1. It is, because if my power wasn't cut and I was able to continue to apply throttle, I would have easily accelerated out of the slide. Instead, I regained traction due to the T/C and ended up on the median strip. I fail to see how having T/C on is supposed to be safer. You basically lose control of the vehicle when it's activated.
  2. Any way to permanently disable the TC? It nearly sent me into a tree once. Due to the traction control I had no power whatsoever and my tyres regained grip whilst the car was sideways. An extremely dangerous "feature".
  3. Any chance there's some air in the system? Run the car for a few minutes with the radiator cap off.
  4. I should add that sometimes the car acts as though the fuel has been cut and I have to give the accel a bit of a kick to get the car accelerating again. It's very intermittent and I have never had a chance to look at the TPS reading when it happens. 13.7% to 78% it read I remember correctly. Does that sound right, and could more acceleration possibly be obtained by somehow increasing the TPS to output 100%?
  5. Maybe not, but I just don't know what else it could be. All the hoses appear to be in almost brand new condition.
  6. Inspected the PCV system today, the valve itself and the asssociated hoses all seem fine. No problems found. Apparently the inlet manifold gasket is prone to failing. I may try spraying something flammable around that area.
  7. I have a 5 speed BF XR6 Ute that likes to stall every now and then. It'll often do it when changing from first to reverse or vice versa. If I give the accel a kick (in neutral) the revs go up, then way down to the point that the car either stalls, or comes very close to stalling. I believe I have checked the O2 sensor and TPS correctly with Torque and a OBD-II Bluetooth Device. The cat is no good but I don't think it's blocked. Have not been able to find any air leaks anywhere. The vehicle still drives very well.
  8. Shaving the adapter is not an option, it's very thin in most areas and I don't see how that would help anyway to be honest. Interested to hear how other ute owners have dealt with this problem that shouldn't exist.
  9. I am trying to replace the "speakers" in the back of my BF XR6 ute with a pair of Kenwood 6" units. I have purchased MDF adapter plates and fitted them to the speakers. The screws that protrude from the MDF do not clear the detachable steel speaker mounting plate. Cutting the plate is not an option, as then I will be unable to mount the speaker+MDF to the plate. Is the best option to cut/grind down the screws?
