About Me

Started driving years before I was old enough to get a license. I recently purchased my 185th vehicle (closest estimate, lost the list years ago) not including scrap or parts cars or off-road vehicles. Built my first car "build" about 35 years ago, built my first SQ car stereo about 35 years ago as well.

I tend to install concert and stage speaker drivers in my car stereos, mostly Peavey speakers. I like to think of them as "SQL" systems.

My favorite build was a gutted 1954 Ford Mainline 2-door business coupe that I installed a 1963-1/2 Galaxie dual quad 427 lowriser into it, with the four speed too. I would say it was "quick"

Can't figure out how to post the pictures.

My next serious build I have been planning for over 20 years now and I finally decided if I don't start soon I never will. It is going to be a low-buck hot rod version of a Ford RS200. The engine has not been locked in to the plans yet, but it will be either a 460, a 4.6 quad cam modular V8, or the Barra. These are engines I have now in running vehicles or on the shelf. The vehicle has not been chosen or bought yet but I am leaning towards a Ford Sierra, which is called a "Merkur XR4Ti" in North America and they are dirt cheap here.

It will be fully independent suspension, all wheel drive, front mid-engined car, basically where the front seats go so the engine is well behind the front differential as well as keeping the polar moment of inertia close to centre mass. Driver's seat will be the back seat. And it has to be stock appearing from the outside.
