Fellow Victorian's! Wife and I are looking to go to Melbourne around the end of September for a long weekend holiday, she has never been to Melbs. I have been once but only for 2 days to see a band. Looking to stay around the Melbourne CBD area, any places you recommend staying? Not looking for a high end hotel deal. Looking for a place that is nice and fairly priced Will be there from Sept 22-25th Cheers legends!

Kinda amazed you haven't reached that figure with this setup? Do you have any info on the last tune? Why did they stop at 380kw? Head studs maybe? I don't believe you need them to get to 400kw, but I'd recommend getting them done just for piece of mind really. 450kw you're pushing the limits on 98, I'd switch to e85 if you're chasing more than 400-410kw I'd say Have a read through some threads in the "400+ Club" to see what other peoples setups were to achieve 400+kw. https://www.fordxr6turbo.com/forum/forum/152-400-club/ Shameless plug of mine 😏

Drinking from one of these as we speak. Makes you look fancy cause the glass is fancy. 😂 Also, just bought a set of 4 15mm bolt on spacers.... It has nothing to do with drinking atm.... I don't think 🥃

Look at selling it and buying a turbo FG. Reasons: Engine is not built for boost Transmission is not built for boost - especially if its a 5 speed. Even the NA 6 speed is different to the turbo 6 speed Diff is not LSD Requires turbo ecu to be done properly You need to replace a lot other stuff to make this work Its going to cost you a lot of time, and money Can you do it? Absolutely! Spend an hour researching all the people that have done this on forums and fb. What is their car like long term? Any issues? How much time did it take? How much money? Whats broken since? Would they recommend it? If you're dead set sold on keeping the car you have. Find a wrecked turbo and transplant all the driveline, ecu and pcm. Google "Ford FG turbo kit" and you'll find all sorts of kits that will ship to your door. https://www.tiperformance.com.au/products/ea-fg-falcon-4l-turbo-conversion-kit/ This kit is ~$4kNZD delivered. You'll need a turbo intake plenum to replace the factory NA one too If you keep the NA motor you'll need to tap an oil return in the sump and get oil to the turbo. You need to get coolant to, and from the turbo When you change ECUs you'll need to "marry" it to the car, you will need to pay someone to do this. Or, you keep the NA ecu and buy an e-boost controller. That costs extra If you're competent working on cars, done it plenty of times, then all this would be a cake walk. A weekend project over a couple months to get done by yourself. Don't underestimate just how complex this job actually is, though. Getting a professional shop to do it for you is going to cost you a lot of money. Do let us know what you decide to do though! If you do embark on this journey, there will be plenty of people on the forum that I'm sure would be happy to help answer some questions as you go along

Yea we are fortunate that our combined income is higher than average, and our buying power is quite high because of it. We settled on a budget of 550k max because the repayments are achievable without making us live pay-check to pay-check. It also means that we will be able to handle the interest rises in the future which is reassuring That being said, we're stuck currently deciding on whether to buy a much smaller and cheaper how now, so we can build in the future. Or, buy a bigger house now that means we don't really need to build a second. The house I linked before is in bucket B. Its massive but will be a great house to build a family in without worrying about needing to upsize for a very long time. We have way more houses we are looking at this weekend, looking at 9 or 10 I believe. The one I linked is by far our favourite though. As for buying vs renting. People will always say you should buy and get out of renting. Purely so you're paying off your own house instead of someone else's. But, its way more complex than that. You don't just "go and buy a house". Renting is way easier. Its just not as sustainable as buying in the long term. Either way, both markets are really bad atm. So there's no benefit going with one over the other

100% doesn't look like that irl I bet 😂😂😂 Yea hoping so! Got all our finances sorted, now just part of the unlucky group of people trying to buy their own place lol. Best part is the car didn't have to go! that's a big win 🤣

Isn't it amazing how so much joy such a simple thing can bring 🥰🥰 Going to look at a house this weekend that we both really like. Odds of actually getting it, probably quite slim. But it has a shed in the back for my tinkering! Its like it was made for me 🥺 https://reiwa.com.au/5-beaumonde-grange-aveley-4704924/

Not sure if they test drive it or if its just a box ticking exercise. Running no BOV, and running one that vents to atmosphere is not legal. A recirculating/diverter type, like the factory jobbie, is the only legal way. It must recirculate/divert excess air back into the intake. Its an emissions thing I believe. Turbo make boost, boost = lots of air, when you let off gas pedal, all that air must go back to intake of the turbo so no excess air is released to the atmosphere.

I straight up bottomed out on the one yesterday 🤣 Kept creeping ever so slowly over it, hearing that god awful noise of sh1t scraping the bottom of the car hahaha

Use Imgur to upload pics, its way easier Also no one is hating on you mate, just saying that the NSW government is sh*te, you've been defected. They word in such a way to make it seem like you haven't. In any case. Take @k31th's advice, just put as many of the factory parts back on as you can and you'll have a higher chance of passing. The plenum will be fine I reckon. Just so long as you don't have a blocked BOV, or one that vents to atmosphere. Its gotta recirc to pass

These fkers! Some of them can be so steep! And even worse when they start to bulge in the middle 😠

Man mario cart with the family is hella fun!!!!!! Such an entertaining arcade-type game to play! Went to view a house yesterday, one of them "all offers presented" BS (how can they be allowed to put it on the market like this, its total bullshat!), of course was out of our budget but how were we to know, we had to go there to find out the asking price. In any case, it didn't feel homie even it was in our budget. On to the next! One of the streets before you turn on to the street with the house has those stupid black plastic speed hump things - they were bulging in the centre too. Caught my vband clamp of the zorst and now its hanging on for dear life. $50 later got a new one in the mail. This is probably what gave me bad vibes for the house 🤣🤣🤣 Will take the car into the local exhaust shop some time to see if they can add another hanger, it sags so much in the centre, really crap!

Did some digging because I didn't quite agree with the coilover statement. I'm not from NSW but I am reading a doc from the nsw government. Section 3.2 point "e - ii" and "e - iii" mention changing suspension that is of a different design from factory require assessing and certification. This may be why MCA coilovers are not legal, the rear setup is a different design from factory, they are a true coilover rather than separate coil and shock - which is the factory setup. I'd steer more towards them not being legal.

I wear a ring now, so that's different 🤣 We are in the process of organising our finances and prepping to get pre-approval for a house. Feels like a bigger deal than being married lol
