Pretty much what puff said. Our running theory is that someone cooked the motor of the car, did a home job to fix it with wrecker parts. Basically, slap it back together so that it runs as you'd expect then sell it to a dealer. How is the dealer to know the rods were replaced kinda thing. So yea, brother took real good care of the car, and once he started doing fifo he saved up for Monsta Torques stage 2 package with a few extra bits and bobs, namely an f6 turbo (gt3582) and screamer. Seeing as no one knew of the motors issue, Rob tuned it like he would any FG turbo (they came with stronger rods compared to BA). Car lasted about 3 weeks before he bent a rod. Bit of sticky situation, like is it the dealers fault? How can you blame them for the car when its not something they check. We pondered going to dealer with this but it would have ended with more drama than it was worth. But anyway, to lighten the mood. Done 780km of the 1500km rob has requested. I've taken possession of the car for the week to do more run-in stuff, A bit difficult to do what he is requesting in traffic for my brother when he drives to work. I can annoy the local industrial area with the screamer without any worry 🤣

Well the military has a few of them on hand that they doing development on. For heavy equipment transport, wounded soldier transport, and I saw one with a minigun attached to it 🤣🤣 The latter looks like something you'd get as a killstreak in cod

Yea it can put out fires remotely, but can it do a skid? that's the question we should have asked

BIA5's newest addition to their offerings as a project for Rio Tinto, featuring a gas detection system I've been a part of developing for over a year. Its called RORI, but I prefer remotely operated fire putter outerer Engineering is pretty cool, ngl The cost is "we're not currently disclosing the purchase price of the unit just yet". What I hear is "f*cking expensive"

Picked up my brothers car for him on friday from MT. Fitted with MT Stage 3 (I think?) built motor and a pulsar 3584 after cooking his stock one, think I've mentioned the whole story about this on the forum somehwere before but I'll do a sentence recap for anyone curious. FG mk2 turbo bought from dealer, turns out had rods replaced with BA rods then traded in, got tuned with bigger turbo, rodney came knocking, went back to MT, here we are now. Motor is going through Robs run-in process. He had already done the bedding in process on the dyno. Has to do 1,500kms then goes in for a tune. The car is unbelievably smooth. I was so blown away at just how smooth it was when driving it. There is not a single vibration, felt like driving a tesla just about 🤣 Currently limited to 5k rpm. Placing bets on how long his poor stock zf is gonna last with the new power plant lol, it is next on the list for an upgrade though. He has gifted me the gt3582 that was on the car previously. Will be going on the car once I have the funds to do it 🤣

In all honesty, I don't think you're missing out on much going to any newer than 2005 lol. The interiors of Xr6's were bad then, and they're still bad now. Think the only good update from then was the addition of bluetooth audio on the mk2 FGs 🤣

@Certifiedxr6t Hey mate! Cool to see another perthian (that was cringe, I apologise) on the forums! Top places for any barra work in perth is (in no particular order): Monsta Torque, XFT, Dark Horse performance, BPT I deal with Monsta Torque as many do, he is however very busy. Especially at the moment! He has hired a receptionist/front of house kinda thing. He's a very nice kid Anyway, I would recommend them, but if you're looking to get it done quicker I'd actually recommend you go to a place called DIY Garage. There are quite a few mechanics there that have experience with xr6's and they'd be able to help you out

@k31th Since I've been on the forums I don't think I've ever seen you post anything about your cars. I was beginning to think you didn't even own a xr6 Now I hear you have two!? Impressive 😎

Imo, getting HD timing gear is a must when you're pushing these motors. Its common knowledge that the stock stuff is prone to failures, and when they fail its often pretty catastrophic. So if you pay $800 to avoid a completely fked motor, pretty cheap insurance in the grand scheme of things!

I understand, I often drink rum with ginger ale but I was also getting fat after moving to an office job. Decided changing to sugar free mixer was better than not having booze at all, life without liquid courage doesn't sound fun

Good choice on the TV! The beer.... Well lets not go there

Speaking of, the retic out the front is f*cked, looks like the system was a DIY job because it wasn't done very well at all. Will be watering by hand for the time being it seems. Might get some happy snaps of the new place and throw them up at some point. Need to fix the grass first though

You all suck. But only because I have to pay more for something I don't even own 🤣🤣

Yea it was something I was so keen on having too when the missus and I decided to move in together. Unfortunately this was during covid lockdown and all that. Long story short the rental market in WA (and I'm sure for the rest of aus) was/is so competitive and crowded that we had to settle for a 1 bedroom apartment on a 6mo lease. We now have an amazing 3 bedroom house, with a double garage on a 1 year lease 😄 Had to bite the bullet and suck up the ridiculous rental prices too, we were paying $370pw for the 1 bedroom apartment, now paying $480 for this rental. that's heading to mortgage repayment kinda money which is quite frustrating. Keen to trick out the garage with some more shelves and toolboxes. 2 port garage for a single car gives me some room to work with which is really awesome. Now just need a sh*tbox so I can garage my car and retire it from daily duties

Ah yes, reminds me of the lockdown skid trend that floated around FB 🤣 Alas, I cannot do this. It is a rental 😥

moved into the new rental over the weekend, I finally have my own garage!!! 🥳🥳

bf 2042 is totally different to the other battlefields. I've been waiting a looooooong time for modern bf again so I've been super keen on the new bf 2042. Played about 2 hours of it since release, definitely has some growing pains. Lots of issues, some even still made its way through from the beta, which may I add was utter sh*t. I think BF 2042 has a lot of potential, especially the portal feature. The game should have been delayed, many creators have expressed the same concerns on the game that have still not been addressed. Give it a few more patches and a few months and I think we'll be on a winner of a game. BF4 was by far my most played game, been into the bf franchise since bc2, clocked over 1.5k hours on BF4 alone. BF4 also had a very rough launch, riddled with bugs and crappy balance. But they fixed it, just took some time! On the topic of PCs handling the game, mine doesn't do well. I'm still running a 1st gen ryzen cpu (ryzen 1600) and it struggles. I also only have a 5600xt GPU so nothing fancy. I have it on medium, set to 1080p (I have a 2k monitor) and the game is playable, but I do get some lag spikes here and there. Overall though its not bad, just needs a little more optimisation

This in itself is a very good reason to have christmas early, brilliant 🤣
-
Ahahaha yea you're not wrong! Left that sh*thole 4 years ago now, never looked back
-
Ngl I agree with @k31th, especially after working at Coles for 3 years.... Christmas sh*t starting in October! Wtf lol Per Austrian tradition (my mum is from Austria) we usually put the Christmas tree up on the 1st of December. Closely follows the Advent Sundays. Traditionally, christmas tree's went up on the first Sunday of December called "Advent Sunday". You light a single candle every night at dinner, on the 2nd sunday you light 2, on the 3rd sunday you light 3 and then on the 4th you light 4. These candles are usually set up on some sort of christmas decoration that goes on the dining room table. Pretty sure this is the same as most European countries tbf Literally, the only thing that has made christmas traditions start earlier and earlier is marketing campaigns. But hey, each to their own

that's it. Couldn't get any better! Free fuel

That sounds a bit aggressive 😂 Garage goals is the xr6 turd and a tesla daily. People sh*t on electric vehicles a lot but they are definitely a competitor for city run-around type driving. To and from work kinda thing. Give it another 10 years and I reckon the prices will be much lower on the things to make them worth it to more people. That said, I'm a tech nerd engineer, so electric cars tickle my fancy more than the average consumer I imagine 🤣
-
Yea that product is very delayed lol. They announced it a loooooooong time ago

Wrote my last ever uni exam yesterday. C*nt was hard but I reckon I've scraped through! Would love to do a celebration skid but not sure I should be doing that on a cooked turbo.... 😅 Also, just paid $1.94/L for 98! WTFFFFFF E85 down the road is $2.10!!!! that's just silly
