  1. Well seeing as you're staying in Northbridge, I'd recommend trying out Varsity and/or Northbridge Brewing Company. Both should be walking distance from wherever you are You'll likely only be able to give Varsity a crack because everything is closed on Tuesdays when it comes to hospitality (restaurants, pubs, etc.)
  2. Steak seems to make a frequent appearance here, so figured I'd add mine from the weekend. Hefty 1.1kg ribeye steak. Bought on Thursday, salted and left to dry in the fridge over night. Removed the salt, coated it in a little bit of oil to let the seasoning stick, added pepper and seasoning. Vac bagged it with some garlic, didn't have any other aromatics at the time, like rosemary and thyme. Chucked it in the sous vide for 4 hours @ 54°C. Threw it on the bbq which had been getting nice and hot for a while, cooked for 5ish minutes to get a mintttttt crust/char on it. Cut and served. Had this along with a bbq'ed chicken, lamb, and a variety of salads with some mates. Was a good time 👌 By far the best steak I've ever made, it was absolutely amazing. Better view of the important photos
  3. Yea look, our cities night life is far from ideal. One of the biggest gripes with Perth. Everything shuts too damn early in the city, its really annoying.
  4. Yea we don't have any train line from the airport into the city yet, its coming though!! Sooner than Melbourne too I hear
  5. Yea I have just discovered it is a franchise! I'll have to hit up the forum for foodie advice when my partner and I eventually get down there. Been once before with a mate and loved it over there. Better than Sydney
  6. Damn busy man. I'll assume you're staying around the Elizabeth Quay & Northbridge area as that is where most of the more popular hotels are. A place I always like to go for simple food and a pint is The Lucky Shag bar. Good food and a nice view of the river. If you're close to a Varsity bar, they also have very good burgers. I've also been to a bar called The Island Brew House, haven't eaten there but the pizzas looked really nice - they are wood fired. Another burger place in Northbridge that comes up often on the Perth Burger hunters FB page is a place called hoodburger. Again, never been but have seen plenty good reviews of the place. Linked their location not the site because their site is ass If you're keen for a fancy steak, The Meat & Wine Co is brilliant.
  7. Got myself a fitting to replace the crappy multi-fitting abomination I had previously, Radium 6AN to 1/4" barb. Should do the trick. The factory vac line appears to be a metric size around the 6mm mark. So a 1/4" barb works good enough, just tighten the hose clamp more 😋 Also, hopefully, getting somewhere with my multi-month warranty claim (since Nov last year) for the blown turbo. Taken far too long and I'm just about ready to take it higher, their communication for this claim has been utterly terrible, and "its because of covid" is becoming a bit of a cop-out reason
  8. Nice @k31th! Not sure what kinda work brings you to Perth - but cool nonetheless! 😛 I suppose it depends on what you like and whereabouts you're staying. Perth is a very small city though, so you can get around relatively easily. The city also has free buses you can use to get around, if that sorta thing interests you
  9. Only name you need to know in darts, Michael van Gerwen
  10. I'm a basic bitch when it comes to cricket, T20 is my jam. I find test cricket boring. Played cricket for a long time and hated the multiple day sagas. Love watching rugby union, growing up in zim probably has a lot to do with that - its very big around southern africa (zim, SA, etc). I take any opportunity to wear the boks jersey lol. There is an even in Perth called boktown, runs every time the Sprinkboks play, its at a bar and they serve classic SA food and drinks and put the game on the big screen. Best atmosphere to watch a game, only beaten by watching a game live. Darts is always entertaining to watch, mainly for the crowds though hahahah
  11. Anyone watched the new Doctor Strange movie yet? 👀👀 Its amazing
  12. Drove my car to work this morning, a huge 2km drive. I need to get this sh*t tuned cause I really miss driving it 😂😂 Swapped driving for walking about 2 months ago and its been amazing. 20min walk to work on a slow day. Get some exercise in and save money on fuel - win win 😋 Edit: Also, ordered some head studs this morning too. No brainer to do studs at the same time as the springs imo. Future proofing and all that
  13. Beautiful cross-hatch char you got going on the steak 👌
  14. +1 mixer shaft is broken, mine sounded exactly the same when my passenger side mixer shaft gave out. That side can be done without removing the dash but the other side cannot unfortunately
  15. I'ma be honest, I have absolutely no idea what you are referring to 🤣🤣 I've had the front lca's replaced with superpro ones, they didn't have any adjustment in them whatsoever.... Or do you mean where they bolt up, there's adjustment there?? I know you can get adjustable upper arms for the rear of sedans which is nice, they are on the cards for the rig in the future when I do the rest of the bushes in the rear. I'd say 3/4 of the bushes in my car have been replaced with superpro variants. All I got left is rear upper and lower arms, and front and rear sway bar bushes/links. EDIT: I've just seen these kmac adjustable front lca bush for the front lca, but they are defs not factory
  16. Are you referring to the front or rear? I wasn't aware of any adjustable lower arms for the front or back
  17. This is why I'm surprised there is no custom options out there! 🤣 depending on how low you go and what wheels you put on I want to be able to adjust it all, freely and without restriction! Like most jap cars. You wanna drive on the street? cool, bit of adjustment and you're good. Wanna get all stancey? also cool, bit of adjustment and you're good. Drags, Roll racing? cool, bit of adjustment and you're good. See where I'm going with this 😝 All I can adjust is my suspension a bit of toe, I want to be able to control everything else like camber and caste, and I want to be able to do freely I can't be the only person out there that wants this for their falcon
  18. Feels lol. Would love to learn how to play with the pcmtec myself but that's something that would take a very long time to get comfortable doing 🤣 Also, as usual, I end up searching the interwebs for adjustable camber solutions for the front of falcons... Always sad but the results I find - being absolutely f@ck all options. And no, I don't mean fkn shims... I mean full on adjustable arms. Ford were not the first to use the U shape upper arm design, many cars have this, and many have adjustable versions too. Why the falcons don't is still beyond me! In any case, I stumbled on this and it caught my attention! Adjustable LOWER arm kit for Ford FGs........ 🤔🤔🤔 Now this is tickling my urge to fix the front end of my car but I have not found a single result out there of anyone using such a thing. Awfully tempting though
  19. Just always thought of the factory solenoid as a basic 2 port, because there are only 2 ports on it 🤣 I guess it'd make sense that there is in fact a 3rd, but its not a barb and instead probably just a hole somewhere on the thing
  20. Cheers for some clarification @Slowxr6t @k31th This method appears to be extremely popular because its so simple, interesting to see other methods too though!
  21. Can someone pls tell me how tf an external gate and boost control works 🤣🤣🤣 I have been researching for ages about the "upper" and "lower" ports of a wg and I just can't seem to find any articles or anything on how exactly it works. I'm pretty sure I understand every concept behind all this, but I don't understand it when its all put together... Let me try explain. The top port (or upper port) is on top of the wg diaphragm, same side as where the spring is; and the bottom port (or lower port) is on the bottom side of the diaphragm, same side as the back of the valve. A wg has a spring in it, spring pushes against the top of the diaphragm, where the valve is connected. When pressure on the valve from exhaust exceeds pressure of spring, valve begins to open. This is basic operation of wg. Now boost control is where I get confused. The wg solenoid controls how much "boost", so added pressure, is going to the wg. Hence why the boost reference comes from the front housing of the turbo. Falcons are fitted with a very basic 2 port solenoid. It can either be open to let the high pressure gas flow, or closed to prevent the gas flow. I'm assuming this is also done via some form of modulation technique too. Am I right so far?? Hope so. So in my head, if this line is fitted to the bottom port of the wg, it means that the max boost you can ever achieve would be set by the spring (or springs) you put into the gate. Adding boost pressure to the bottom port will then reduce the boost pressure because you are adding pressure to the bottom side of the diaphragm, thus making the valve open. If you connected the boost line to the top port of the wg you'd end up with the opposite of whats stated above. If this is all true, then why is the bottom port used more than the top port? This is how its shown in the turbosmart manual too! Connect to the bottom port, and let top port vent to atmosphere... But then at the same time it states that the spring sets your min boost pressure!? How? I don't get it 🤣🤣 Pic off the internet as an example. solenoid connected to bottom port. As done on my brothers too, and as I've done it on my car
  22. So my AN fittings from sparesbox FINALLY arrived this week and so got stuck right in to assembling AN lines for the first time. Gotta say it was so much easier than I thought! Got myself 1 meter of Raceworks 200 series hose, the stainless braided ptfe stuff, to use for the boost line to the wg. Main reason being that it has a high temp rating which is perfect for the area. The only gripe I have with my setup is the multiple fitting combo I conjured up to go from a barb to AN.... Didn't even think to look if a solution existed, which of course it does. Will purchase this fitting to change out the mess I have currently, though the current setup will technically work just fine. Other than that, it went together quite well!! Braided line is covered in a plastic sheath thing and is run under the coolant overflow tank to make it a little more subtle. The sheath is there just to stop the braid rubbing though anything it shouldn't. So that's it really. As far as I'm concerned, all the stuff I can do myself is done! Now I just need to patiently wait for some more funds to send it over to MT for the final touches. Being the retune, springs install, and head studs. Anyway, here are some pretty pictures of the line I made HAPPY EASTER EVERYONE!
