  1. I wouldn't stress about not using SW. Only reason I use it is because work pays for it. Solidworks is very expensive. Inventor is cheaper, there is also fusion 360 which is a sh*t tonne more affordable for the average user. Heard a lot of good things about it
  2. Beautiful workshop! Love the space, and keen to see this thread progress You're clearly pretty savvy when it comes to mechanical design & assembly stuff, makes these kinda threads more interesting! I'm guessing that you're using solidworks? Looks like the classic sw colour pallet 🤣
  3. Morning all! How was everyone's weekend?
  4. Nankang 265 AR-1's on a factory 8". Looks the goods!!!! 👌 Also removed the crappy spacers off the back I've been running since I had the car. Back to factory fitment, but the new tyres help to make it look good still 😋
  5. That trans sounds like its an absolute beast!
  6. When it comes to power tools nowadays its fair to say that its hard to go wrong when choosing between the "name brands". The likes of makita, milwaukee, dewalt. That kinda thing. They're all very good in their own respects. Personally, I've jumped on the dewalt wagon. This has a lot to do with the fact I have a friend whose a sales rep for them, so I can get good discounts 🤣🤣 I do really like the drill and driver set I picked up though! Good bit of kit(s). Starting to see a lot of people getting on the toolpro and ryobi tools, more than likely because of how affordable they are! And they seem to be decent too!! Can't go wrong really
  7. Yea fair test putting a 40v power tool against 18v variants 🤦‍♂️ This is just a marketing stunt. PS. Makita is actually a good brand though
  8. Morning mate! 11 days till I go to South Africa for a well deserved holiday! So keen to get on a plane again. Nows the perfect time to binge one of my fav youtube channels, specifically his series on plane accidents
  9. May be a silly idea.... But if the car has premium sound, you may be able to use the audio source signal that used to go to the factory amp for a new, more powerful one. Saves you needing to tap into other sources. This is probably the way its done anyway lol, but the idea just sprung to mind haha. As @k31th said, you'll need an aftermarket amp and sub. There are slim subs on the market that will fit in the factory position, and you can get some pretty small, and capable, amps nowadays that perform way better than the factory fit-out. Anyway, you're after wiring diagrams. There's a thread on the forums with a link to the FG workshop manuals, wiring diagrams are in there, so should have what you're after For future reference, this thread is pinned to the top of the "General Tech" Category My google drive link appears to still work too, so that's a win!
  10. I've personally never heard of this, and I have absolutely no idea what a carbon cannister is 🤣🤣 I get funny smells in my car, but its from my catch can setup. I have front and rear breathers on the rocker cover plumbed to a catch can that vents to atmosphere. Do you have something like this that could be causing the issue?
  11. I've been so patiently waiting for this, I'm SO KEEN to see the results! We need more built mum vans
  12. Yea recently discovered the channel after getting an ad on Insta for one of their giveaways. Seem like an awesome bunch of guys! Since disovering them, they've collabed with some youtubers I already watch. The likes of Zac Baldy and Surge (Benny Surge) Morning/Afternoon @k31th
  13. Always get told to stay off the limiter with a barra because they don't like limiter very much. Watches this, feels jealous
  14. The workshop manuals will have what you need. Unfortunately I only have FG ones not BFs 😞 Try find some workshop manuals for the car. The diagrams can seem confusing at first but you'll get there eventually
  15. Close enough! Love a good tomahawk steak
  16. @PuffwagonThat tomahawk steak is calling to be sous vide'd and flame grilled 🤤🤤🤤
  17. I did some searching on the forums a while ago and remember a few people have had success fitting 265 on 17x8 factory wheels, we'll see how it goes I guess 😋
  18. AR-1's acquired 👌 265/35 r19 Really hoping these will fit on my factory 19s 🤣 They're wide as
  19. I'm at my computer at work and I'm lazy lol I'll try at lunch time 😂
  20. Random question, wondering if anyone would know the answer lol. Whats 9+10? Nah for real though, does central locking work when the car is running? I mean using the key fob to lock/unlock the car? Logically I'd think not, but I've never tried.
  21. Wet vac works well on carpets too.... I think that's what they are designed to clean though
  22. In saying that, I have seen many people turn their garage into a perfectly average paint booth for a DIY car respray. Significantly higher risk of dust and sh*t getting into the paint. But hey, if you're in to DIY its definitely possible to do! What I've seen people do in the past is purchase a big tent, that becomes a paint booth where you can paint small to medium parts inside. Really need to get the ventilation on point though!
