  1. Gotta make sure people can't see your rego! Never understood the hiding plates thing hahah, unless you're trying to hide something illegal 🤷‍♂️
  2. Back from SA! Lots of catching up to do on the forums! 😋
  3. More just avoid Jo'burg and you'll be aight 😂 (Johannesburg) We fly in to Jo'burg, stay the night, and fly over to Cape Town. Will be road tripping for the rest of the holiday mainly. Heaps of awesome 4wd tracks at the top of SA, Botswana area. In a game reserve too, so lots of wildlife
  4. If it sounds like this, then its probably cooked. Like tucker said, you will hear the difference when the bearings have given way. Its a very obvious noise.
  5. Fly out to saffa tomorrow 😄 So keen for a holiday. Might not be the most active on the forums lol, but won't be on a lot, if at all, for the next two weeks. Peace out!
  6. Hahaha cheers for the sound advice puff 😂 I took a break from it, went back and took my time making sure it was all straight. Got the nut onto the clamp and slowly started tightening. Went on great! I think I was just rushing and also frustrated. Anyway, cars all back together now, bar the hot side plumbing. Heat cycled and gonna re- tighten tomorrow! Car will be ready for roll racing on the 18th when I'm back. Mrs is tagging along this time 😈
  7. I have absolutely no idea how people can tighten a wg clamp AND push against the fkn spring at the same time. I'm getting beaten by the this damn thing 😡
  8. Wow thanks @gaz097for the detailed response 😄 I ended up going with champion brand high tensile stuff from SCA. They are grade 8.8. I need a car on Monday so I need to get it running this weekend so my original intent to source some high quality stuff online isn't an option any more. the ones I got are zinc coated, hope they'll be okay for the time being. I can always replace them in the future. Not the hardest job in the world to do
  9. Yea figured as much. Usually get high tensile bolts from Supercheap
  10. Misfires generally occur from fuel, or spark. Have you checked the plugs and coil packs?
  11. Bit of late night update. Had a massive fight with the dump pipe bolts. Couple grazed knuckles, bruises and swear words later they all came off! Once they were all off, the rest of the stuff was pretty straightforward. I'm gonna replace the dump pipe bolts this time round, they've seen better days. Just need to work out the sizes which I can do by bringing one with me. I'm assuming just off the shelf high tensile units for the likes of SCA and what not will do? What about the Bunnings high tensile stuff? Or should I look elsewhere?
  12. Cheers mate! And yea I agree with you! In fact, since taking the video, I have increased the speed haha Faster and more smooth
  13. But spacers still use tapered nuts? I take personal offence to this statement
  14. Yooooo those are awesome!!!!! 🤯 Defs gonna have to remember these exist! Thing is I have access to a helicoil kit now, so its a guaranteed solution between now and the 18th. I've done it before, I know what I'm in for. that's a bloody awesome product by the looks of it though
  15. Yea I'm curious how the dowels stay in place? They must be press fit? Imagine one of them things falling out 😂
  16. If I understand correctly hahah Yea, these are. They are the PRP titanium studs. They have the hex head to allow you to screw them in to the head first I did do this too! I think I'm just being an idiot when it comes to knowing how tight I'm making something. I'm glad that both are not one of the helicoiled holes, getting my old man over and we'll fix it good as new! I'm going to be more careful this time with them.
  17. Well.... Been here before 🤦‍♂️🤦‍♂️🤦‍♂️🤦‍♂️ I'm gonna buy a torque wrench Did a pull on the freeway last night and had this odd noise coming from the engine, I knew exactly what it was because I've heard it before. Exhaust leak between the head and manifold. Got it home, and saw this beauty. Took the stud out and got a lovely spiral as seen above. There are 2 like this. Both are ali and not helicoils from before job. I had a suspicion, the stud itself was sticking out way more than the rest. WG is off, coolant feed is off, hot side piping off. Will have the manifold off tonight. I have to fix this before the 18th for roll racing, and I leave on the 1st for SA and back on the 16th. 😂 Luckily I've done this before, so I'm very confident in what I'm doing. Disassembly wise, and fixing the holes.
  18. Heard a lot of good things about it. Mate of mine has it, says the campaign is really good. And, obviously, the graphics are very good being a new title
  19. I may be OCD, but if that happened to me I'd tap them all to 1.5 ahahah
  20. I'm personally extremely curious and interesting in water/meth setups. Seems like an awesome option for someone that doesn't want to make the switch over to e85. e85 is harder to find, has worse fuel economy, more expensive to run, hard on your fuel system. Plus it isn't cheap to add in the support for it. With water/meth, it seems like a similar cost in investment for the parts, and you get decent results while maintaining good fuel economy. The only real downsides I see is 1; you need someone with good experience tuning cars with the system installed, and 2; you have a second tank that needs to be filled up.
  21. Make it NA, should have room then
  22. Also! Chopped a 650 bike too!! Kinda haha. LAMs approved, had me off the line but caught up real quick! Also, had it in sports mode, forgot to shift, hit limi in 2nd. Clearly bit rusty. I'd love to have a good excuse but straight up just forgot to shift 🤦‍♂️ Took it easy after that, really don't wanna be breaking anything before the wedding next year 🤣
  23. that's good! Feel the same, lotta progress on the tail light code. Even though they don't quite fit in the tail light I'll take it as a win. Went on a cruise for the first time in well over a year, them ar-1's defs have more grip than the old tyres hahaha. Crazy how the temp of the tyre changes its grip too! Never felt that before. Did a 1-2 pumpie when cold, tried a 2nd gear skid and was not having it 🤣 Gonna not do that again. Probs not very healthy for the poor motor hahah
  24. First fit in a tail light didn't quite go as planned. Yes it fits, I never doubted that. But, the brake LEDs protrude too far out, causing a collision with the lens. Unfortunately that means I'll need to remake the brake section and glue the LEDs in a way so that they don't stick out too much. Will need to ponder this one a bit more. With that said. I have a completely functioning code build, so my main focus now will be these LEDs. Once that's done I can get the first prototype set assembled and start testing Here is a cut video of the start-up and shutdown sequence. Its a little old but the pattern is the same. I've made the DRL pattern a bit faster, and have implemented a smooth dimming transition between the two brightness levels. Will continue the project once I'm back from my holiday. With how long I've spent on these so far, I think its safe to assume that the prototype set will only be done toward the end of the year/ beginning of 2023.
