I think the best part of the solution is the car stays π I'll be sticking around here for a while!

I'ma tell her this π Nah hahaha, we are sussing out a plan. I think we're gonna move back in with my parents for 6mo. We are likely gonna change our wedding plans. Make it very small. Our wedding so far has 30 guests at the ceremony, its a small "elopement" package thing we are doing. Just a hair over $16k deep so far. We can get 95% of that back and still get married. Had very long talks with her parents about this too, who are in full support of this which is a big relief. They never wanted us to spend this kinda money on a wedding in the first place. They want us to get a house π€£ Its just an all-round shat situation. Living expenses atm are pretty high, renting is expensive, mortgages are expensive. But we want a house we can call a forever home, and not have this exact situation happen to us again.

Looks good! Highly, highly recommend adjusting your headlights to aim way more down. With mk1 headlights they kinda just throw light EVERYWHERE. You will blind oncoming traffic with those and will get plenty flashes in return. Had this when I put LEDs in my headlights. Haven't had any complains since dipping them down

We fought for a while to keep the rent under $500/week for the house. Which we believed was fair. Its not a brick and mortar house, all drywall. Number of issues they don't wanna fix. Their argument was that the rentals in the area, for similar properties, were upwards of $520/week. Beautiful, new houses, brick and mortar. How can you compare. We ended with $505/week and only 6 month lease, couldn't do 1 year. I think we're just gonna bust our balls and buy before May 23. Had a heated discussion about selling the car to do it. Dunno if I'ma win the argument π€£ All up real sh*t situation. All our savings have gone towards paying for our wedding next year so this couldn't come at a worse time FML

When your landlord sends cute emails before Christmas π₯° The owner of the property has had a change in family circumstances and will eventually be moving back into the property. Your lease does not expire until 14/05/2023 and you are under no obligation to vacate until then. They have asked that if you wish you may move out any time without penalty. Donβt worry about it over Christmas and if you wish to discuss feel free to call me.

3584 will give you way more than 350 if you want lol If you're only aiming for 350-400kw's then I'd suggest getting a smaller turbo instead to gain back some response over the 3584. Pretty sure you can achieve these results with a gtx3576 even! I'd do springs. Better to have them and not have to worry about valve float.

I like it!! Better than the tac weld solution commonly used. Not so great if you ever need to remove the bolts again π

Scroll down a bit on the forums homepage and you'll find the 500+kw club section. Plenty build breakdowns in there that have what you're after https://www.fordxr6turbo.com/forum/forum/164-500-club/

FG MK 1, 2, FGX, BA/BF and Territory replacement ICC
biddie_fiddler replied to Rab's topic in Audio/Visual Workshop
I agree, I really like the mk1 - mk2 FG top hat look. The aerpro makes it look more like a ba-bf but somehow worse? Would've gone with theirs if it wasn't for the look of the top hat part! -

After more research.... I think the A/C controls work on the device itself and it just sends a video signal to the head unit, interesting solution! -

I got a phone call from KA the other day, must be a marketing firm they'd hired. Basically trying to convince me to upgrade from my v2 to v5. I told them it was in my interests to do so, but on my own terms. Might have struck a trade in deal too so we'll see. But for now, I'll stick with my slow v2 π€£ @Rochefort they are much the same, though with the aerpro one you'll need to source a head unit that is compatible with the climate controls. Don't except the aerpro to be cheaper either, once you add in all harnesses you need and stuff, the prices are pretty much the same. This is the video for the fg models but the ba/bf one is similar I believe -
Poor man buys about 4 actually lol, is the point π They're also a consistently proven bang for buck turbo. If you're not racing, I see no point in spending extra money on a garrett when you don't need to. Use the money for something else

that's the most detective work I've ever done to find the answer to something, and it was definitely worth the time. www.fordxr6turbo.com The gift that keeps on giving
-
Wow almost like these are the kinda things that are skipped to reduce cost π Good to know though! Will keep an eye on my pulsar turbo! Even still, I can buy two more brand spankers from pulsar before the cost is close to a genuine garrett. I'll take me chances π

Wtf is this ππ

that's a cute lil hat π€£

Picked up a bolt today. Sensor thread is a 3/8" UNF. Imperial GARBAGE! π€£ Cut the bolt down to size and wizzed it in there with some thread sealant. It doesnt leak, but to be on the safe side I'ma get a copper washer and put that in there too as an extra precaution
-
Could it possibly be two panels rubbing at a seam? that's an awfully loud and annoying squeak π€£
-
@JETURBO Yea I mean the sensor is quite old so I suppose it shouldn't be too surprising. Just never seen it before. Do you happen the know the size of the thread off the top of your head? Haven't had much luck yet finding out online.
-
That's exactly what I'm thinking about doing! Just been trying to find the thread size, but I'll just take it with to Bunnings or sca to find out. I think it's metric. So weird that the sensor leaks! Really weird
-
Didn't want to start a whole new thread, but might do if this is a bigger issue! Noticed I had a big oil patch under my car yesterday, thought it was oil from the engine mount, but after noticing the power steering pump res had lost a lot of oil! π Used a lot of degreaser and cleaned it all up real nice, cut the overflow line shorter and used a new hose clamp cause I thought it might be leaking from there. Also noticed the pressure switch sensor thing had some oil in it too. Cleaned all that. Anyway loooong story short it's still leaking badly, and oil has returned in the switch sensor again. Is this a thing? Like do these switches fail and leak through the plug? I can't really see where else it's leaking from. Doesn't appear to be coming from the pump itself.

I have to completely remove the super glue off the die before I can do that. I'm not fussed, getting an upgrade now π€·ββοΈπ I didn't touch the thermal pads at all! Temps are fantastic! And it crashes on the desktop so it's not to do with it being loaded. It's gotta be something else
-
@Puffwagontbh I'm not entirely sure. The card did have some issues previously but it was mainly driver issues. I was very careful and didn't get any on the capacitors around the GPU die. I actually used super glue to protect them, just in case, and sg is not supposed to be conducive or cause interference. Maybe it was pure coincidence but I doubt it. The more I try to clean around the capacitors the worse it's getting. Now it just blue screens on every startup. Lesson learnt! Will use a different method on the new one

Just picked up this bad boy because my GPU died after I attempted to put liquid metal on it. Expensive mistake π€£π 6700xt, 650W psu recommendation isn't too bad. And can game at 1440p! All for $600 https://www.scorptec.com.au/product/graphics-cards/amd/88759-11306-02-20g?gclid=Cj0KCQiA4aacBhCUARIsAI55maFKet4jfkDyTgxpVnzPLc2oVWos4gb8d-dizAa3brvHAvpdbY9zC_waAp9IEALw_wcB
