  1. Hi all I have aftermarket gauges in my XR6T using a sandwich plate adapter which goes between the oil filter and engine block. Problem is it leaks oil from somewhere but I can't find where. I believe quite a few other people on this forum use these, has anyone else had this issue? What is the best way to go about fixing it? Apologies if this has come up before, I tried a search but I got the error (There was an error processing the request. Please go back and try again, or contact an administrator for assistance. connection to localhost:3312 failed (errno=111, msg=Connection refused)) Thanks in advance..

  3. Try putting all the files in one big lot in the root directory instead of having them in folders..

    I was unfortunate enough to get an early 80's automatic Laser. I have walked along a certain road without noticing a hill but the laser did and had to kick back to second to climb it. lol.

In regards to the last point there will always be the people who buy the V8 simply because its a V8 although I suspect they will be decreasing in numbers these days with fuel prices the way they are. The turbo may be better in almost every respect but it simply doesn't sound as terrifying as a V8 with a good exhaust on it.

    The question is how fast will they be down the quarter? 13 flat, possibly even into the 12's? Wouldn't that be a phenominal achievement in a 45k car..

    I reckon these FGs are already so quick they're pretty far along the scale of diminishing returns. Each shaving of 0.1 seconds off the 0 - 100 time takes more and more effort (ie power/torque) the quicker you go. It's a lot easier to go decrease your 0 - 100 time from 9 to 8 seconds then it is from 5 to 4.

  11. 1: Something you need to keep in mind is the temp gauge on the dashboard is coolant, not oil temperature. Mine takes a good 15 minutes for the oil to get up to full temperature, I usually try not to give it a full boot until then. I don't let it make any boost full stop for the first five minutes or so. 2: I just drive without letting get onto boost for a few kilometers from home. 3: Leave it off! 4: Fine on 95 but nicer on 98. 5: 250rwkw should be a nice balance between reliability and power so long as you have a bit of mechanical sympathy.
  12. Why is it everytime I read one of these stories it always seems to involve a Late model camira too. Maybe instead of banning driving at night and carrying passengers we should just ban VL's and baseball caps worn backwards
  13. I work in the same shopping center, had the same thing happen to my T a few times :/ Bough an old ED Fairmont now though for a daily hack, its already scratched to sh*t so I'm not too protective of it :D
  14. It's a bit worrying how many rust problems the B series seem to have. Makes you wonder how a typically looked after car will look when they're 15 years old.

  16. I think the attraction of the quarter mile is its (relatively) consistant. I'm not say that driver input and track conditions arn't important (far from it) but its a lot easier to see how quick a car is with a quarter mile time. With circuit racing so many other factors come into play. I used to do a lot of quarter mile runs but I've just been doing track days lately, much more fun
  17. Torque converter locking up.. nothing to worry about and perfectly normal.
  18. I have an XT as well as my XR6T.. when your not trying to drive fast, just cruising around the XT is far more effortless then the XR6.. it's completely different when you prod the pedal though. If I never used more then 1/3 throttle though the XT is much better then the turbo.

    Try a new power supply.. dodgy power supplies can cause all kinds of strange issues.
  21. I'm now 22 with 300rwkw. I consider myself to be a fairly decent driver (regular track days to get the urge to boot it out, don't really drive quickly on the road) but I feel sure if I had this same car five years ago when I first got my license at the very least I would have gotten myself into serious trouble or at worst killed myself/someone else. Trouble is you don't really see it until a few years down the track, first time you give a car full welly in a straight line you think how hard can it be, nothing to it at all... then the car does something unexpected that's never happened before, and by then its often too late.
