  1. Saves worrying about broken studs and nuts coming loose. Just cut the welds when you want the turbo off the manifold. Could be the new thing!
  2. I took your advice and ordered a set of stainless exhaust manifold studs along with a braided turbo water feed line and oil and water line holder bracket from Mackielec in your part of the world. They make some cool stuff, like the flexplate bolt retainer bracket, but it doesnt suit atomic flexplate and bolts. Only arp bolts.
  3. Oh the coolant hose to the zf sandwich block has a hole?
  4. @Puffwagonit could be in trans, hope you dont have a vanilla shake.
  5. Hope its not a blown head gasket, my z32 300zx at one point when it was completely stuffed after I bought it filled the overflow bottle and chuffed coolant out onto ground after shutting engjne off, pressure in cylinders was leaking past gasket into water jacket. Dont drain it, start it from cold with cap off, squeeze rubber hoses to try get air out, let it get up to temp in your drive way get thermostat open give some revs squeeze pipes, should get it bled out.
  6. @Puffwagonwhat should I use on barra exhaust manifold and turbo, titanium or stainless studs??? Thanks man. Have you seen youtube channel 'on boost'? He has made a impressive gtx35 based turbo.
  7. Have any of you guys fitted a saas pillar mount twin guage holder and can comment about it?
  8. Damn 3/4 must be cooking, do those big 55mm pwr radiators make a big difference? Anyone tried them?
  9. Good tip, I scraped the idea of putting a water temp sensor in thermostat housing. I instead bought a proflow billet inline sensor housing I will put in radiator hose somewhere. Do you guys in straya get your barras hot with stock radiators? Its way hotter there than nz.
  10. My fgx lives on my hoist in workshop on farm, gets driven once or twice a year lol, I paid $35750 for it and probly is worth over 45k now. 38000ks on clock.
  11. @Puffwagon the port is in the top of the thermostat housing on all models but fg is blanked off and doesnt use it to recirc to header tank, that's the port im thinking of using for water temp sensor. Will that be ok?
  12. @Puffwagonhi, iv got a saas digital water temp guage to fit, need a suitable place to fit the water temp sensor 1/8 npt thread I think. Pro flow do a billet alloy thermostat housing that has a screw in hose tail for earlier ba,bfs, fg has the port blanked off. I wondered if I could use that port for the water temp sensor, what do you reckon? Is the top section of the thermostat housing blocked off with the thermostat until it gets to temp and opens up to let water to radiator? Cheers puff.
  13. that's a fairly agricultural fix lol, just poke the hose in the hole.
  14. Back on the sparesbox topic. Todays trademe deal from sparesbox, $5364 nzd plus import and customs charges for a Gen2 gtx3582r supercore. Damn what a great deal, il take 2 at that price! So about 6k landed, it must be some kind of joke I reckon.
  15. Good news, whats the end goal with terry? 9 second qtr mile? Whats the most power you can get out of it on 98 octane for street duties? Still 400-450?
  16. Spares box want $6400 for gen 2 gtx3582r here in nz, I just got mine for $2800 yaaa.
  17. Spares box advertise over here in nz and they are around twice the price as getting them from a nz crowd, iv never bought anything from them, probably never will.
  18. Didnt do anything to my car today but just bought a brand new Garrett gen 2 gtx3582r with a v band .83 housing. I will sell turbine housing and add supercore to my collection of potential turbos for my fgx, I have a gen 1 gtx3582r supercore and a old but brand new gt3582r supercore with the plastic bearing cages. My current turbo on car has gt3582r .70 cover with ceramic bearings. I got this latest turbo off trademe for $2800 nzd incl postage. I think I have a turbo buying problem.
  19. Yea cool I see all that now. Whats the other hose on the catch can? Does it go back to intake? The pcv is generally the culprit of how the oil mist gets into the intake, the breather seems to stay pretty clean, that's what I noticed on my fgx. I deleted pcv and got earls fittings welded onto rocker cover and run big 19mm od earls 90 degree pushloc fittings off breather and pcv holes with hoses to a modified catch can that vents out the top through a 32mm hose that goes under car so I dont get any nasty fumes. I have a drain hose on the bottom of it with a tap on it. It only gets a piss coloured liquid in it and some sludge, which is pretty much only condensation.
  20. Bov plumbed back in? Whats the hose running down the side of the airbox towards the front? Have you plumbed breather and pcv line to a catch can? Nice bay!
  21. Calf sh*t yellow, I love it! Is the car yellow too?
