  1. #El Andrew, the mechanic also said I would need to do the shim/caster or something likes that as well. Is that including in the wheel-alignment service or different job?
  2. Thanks El Andrew, yes they said you must do the wheel alignment after installing the bushes or the new control arms. I think now if I just replace the whole control arms then I dont need to worry about the ball-joints later. I found the complete Superpro upper control arms assembly kit online but I couldn’t find the lower control arms (only the bushes available), I reckon the upper control arms bushes are broken so the lower parts may not last very long so I better replace them now. Also I heard a lot of people said the the control arms are more expensive than the bushes but the labour’s cost to install the bushes is much more so at the end you will pay almost the same.
  3. Hi everyone, I just brought my car to a local specialist for a steering and suspension check and I was advised that my front upper control arms bushes are broken ( yea I can slightly feel my steering is a bit soft). Now I’m thinking to get the Superpro upgrades kit online by myself but I’m not sure which ones I should get? The whole brand new Superpro upper control arm assembly kits ($395/pair) or just the Superpro bushes ($190/pair)? The local mechanic would charge me $350 for the labour if I bring my own brand new control arms. Otherwise it would be more than $900 if they supply me the parts (Superpro-Control Arm Lower Assembly Kit and Superpro Control Arm Upper Assembly Kit - Polyelast Bushes) + $550 labour. I prefer high quality products that can last very long. What do you guys think? Cheers.
  4. # Ford Freak, sorry if I made you feel annoyed. Thanks for your help! Anyway, I finally found the solution for the topic. I tried to delete this thread but I dont think I can, hope admin can help me. Thanks everyone!
  5. #Puffwagon, sorry bro, I already found the answer for ‘Where should I service my tuned XR6T’ a few days ago. Thanks for your help. Maybe I need to delete this topic now and create a new one.
  6. #Puffwagon, seems like he’s not very convinced about what I had said before so I just explained abit more Ok, anyway lets move aside all living expenses and jobs stuffs, now talk about cars! Nah I dont need to change oil at the moment, still 5000kms to go. I think my car’s upper control arms bushes may have worn out, do you have any ideas about diagnosing worn bushes and replacing them?
  7. # Ford Freak’, well if you actually got paid $8/hour in these days, you must be a lot underpaid and your employer are breaking the law if he/she does pay you that amount. The current national minimum wage is $18.93/hour. I dont know what kind of job are you doing, whether ‘cash on hand’ or not, the least experienced adult cleaners/kitchen-hands should be getting average $20/hours in my state. If you are talking $8/hours more than 10 years ago, it sounds reasonable, try to compare the living expenses now and 10 years ago, huge inflation.
  8. # Ford Freak: LoL, ok now I’m just talking about myself. Why I need two jobs. I’m 24 yo and I have only started my job 3 years ago. I had already spent more than $20k cash on the car. If I just work 1 job ($800/week after tax). So how many years do I have to wait to move in my new house? I’m not gonna pay the rent for the rest of my life! Is that right or wrong? LoL
  9. Thanks Puffwagon! I’m saving some cash for further upgrades: rear 4 spot Brembo brakes, XYZ or MCA coilovers set, front and rear Whiteline’s sway bars, bigger intercooler, re-tune or upgrade my current 6 speed ZF gearbox for faster shifting. I think 300 rwkws is more than enough for me at the moment! And also a set of 19” staggered wheels from FPV GT-F for better traction!
  10. Hi gentlemen, I have uploaded 14 more photos of the car. full album: https://imgur.com/a/LF5CpkA
  11. #camo86T, in those 6 hours I take a break and going to the gym! Honestly I spend almost 3 hours every week on polishing and detailing my car rather than changing oil, etc. So far it looks the best compared to other XR6Ts in Oz. I can post some photos if you don’t believe me!
  12. # Ford Freak, I have 2 jobs bro. 1 fulltime 5 days - 40hrs/week. 2 days off I work at a different place - 20hrs/week (just optional). I just want extra cash to purchase a house. I live alone - just by myself in a granny flat and with no support from anyone. Almost two years already I havent taken my annually leave yet. Xmas day was off yea of course. No work hard -no money - no honey - no nice cars!
  13. # El Andrew, I live in Belconnen. I can service the car by myself but I work 7 days a week, no tools and no space to perform the job.
  14. I went to the Ford dealer near my home and ask them about the log book service for my car, they said it would cost about $350 for 105000 kms service which is cheaper than the tuner chargerd me last time. The dealer workshop is so clean and large, the guy at service department is very polite and friendly, he also knows my car has been tuned and modified. # Ford Freak, I live in Canberra and I know there are a few independent Ford specialists in town but they are all far away from where I live (at least 30 mins drive), the current tuner of my car is the furthest in distance, they are well-known and easy to talk to but they spent much more time working on a simple job. Their workshop is also very small and not as clean as Ford dealer’s workshop.
  15. The guy who tuned my car previously said I need to change oil and oil filter every 5000 kms otherwise the turbo will have problems, is that true?
  16. Hi everyone, I’m Johnny. Just wonder where should I get my tuned FG XR6 Turbo ( ~ 300 rwkws) serviced? At a local Ford dealer or at a well-known tuning shop? I purchased the car a few months ago from a local private owner (its first owner) with 95000 kms on the odo. All modifications and tuning had been done by the previous owner when he first bought the car. He had it done at a wellknown independent local Ford tuning workshop and he kept servicing the car at this workshop every 5000 kms for more than 7 years. Ok now because I live a bit far away from that workshop, should I service my car at the local Ford dealer (very close to my house) or I have to bring the car back to where it was tuned? I dont mind about the cost of service. I like the way how the car is running right now, smooth, quiet and very fast and I want to keep it that way at all time. Any advice? Cheers.
