  1. Matty Awesome to hear your keeping it for now. With the OEM thermostat. I am going to replace mine next service and also probably do the temp sensor at the same time. Want to make sure the cooling system is happy.
  2. Pretty sure it was the 12 pound Spring.
  3. Car went in for a tune this morning. Ended up changing tuner to Autotech as they are better located for me with work etc. the car is over boosting soo bad. Spiro tried a few things and couldn't get it to stay at the 12pd actuator Spring level. Boosting up to high 20's before shutting it down quickly and getting it off the dyno. anyway I left it with them to pull the turbo back off, check the actuator out and port the wastegate opening. I know it's in good hands just wasn't ready for a budget blow out. hardest part is now working out how to make mrs happy.
  4. I gotta make some calls on Monday to finalise . is this level of noise normal for a bigger turbo with driver side intake.
  5. It's fitted... Getting close now. Can't believe the induction noise now. It's tenfold louder then with the GT 3540 turbo! Not sure how I feel about it yet but in sure once it's tuned and I can get it on song it will sound sweet
  6. My car is still off the road so looks like I'm out. Might have the new turbo in but won't come on a long cruise ywithout a tune. Won't be able to help myself and will probably do more damage then it's worth :-/.
  7. What ever happened with this car. Had a fun morning reading the build thread. Looks like a beast!!!
  8. I'm guessing it has the yellow spring in the actuator as standard. I have messaged the guys at mamba to confirm.
  9. Yeah got a few extra goodies with it
  10. News update: I received the new turbo from Taiwan! It was posted super quick! I think it left the warehouse on Friday and landed on my front door today. Thanks DHL.
  11. Cruise will depend on where my turbo is up to but yeah sounds like it will be fun. I also used to work with a couple of mates that have xr6 turbos so I'll see if we can get a few extra cars in the group!
  12. Nothing yet and it's killing me. Waiting for the guy from Mamba to either reply or send the turbo. Paid in Friday last week and messaged him on Sunday. In in the meantime I have to catch a bus to the train station then train to work ??? its going to be a long couple of weeks!
  13. Hey guys, So I made a decision and laid down the credit card for this Mamba turbo: http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/181896660191 Can;t wait for it to arrive and be installed before I book it into CMS. Don't know wha to expect from this turbo but I'm hoping for around 400 kw on 98 as a minimum. Not sure the ZF will stand up to too much more.
  14. Chatted to Jason at CMS and they sound like top blokes to work with. Didn;t know too much about Mamba on Kinagawa turbo's but I don't expect too many people would. Suggested I should go whichever way I feel comfortable with and if I can save a dollar then great. Also I heard back from the Mamba guy and he isnt sure if the turbo will fit with the 4" 0.7a/r inlet. His had some mixed reports from customers. I see this post and it has me a little worried: Decisions Decisions while meanwhile my car is off the road. I hate forced decisions. Ha what a pun!
  15. Dodgy advert! Anyway I messaged him last night asking if he will mate it to a 4" inlet with 0.7 a/r. Waiting response. I think today ill book in CMS and a day off work for the trip down in a couple of weeks.
  16. Ok gotcha. So the the gtx 3584r from mamba had the standard bolt rear housing so that's the winner. https://www.ebay.com.au/itm/181896660191 I think I'm leaning this way, now just need to decide if I go the bigger housing. Will pm him and see if it changes the pricing much. Then I just need to worry about a single silicon intake pipe from the relocated intake... The turbo spool up was already pretty noisy, can't imagine it louder with a 4" intake.
  17. Thanks for all the responses guys.. So many options that's it's hard to make a final decision. What mods to the exhaust are required for the Mamba bolt on turbo? Also so who do you guys recommend for a rebuild if I go down that path? also I am 99% sure I'm going to get CMS to do the tune.
  18. So the 3584 has a 3" inlet where as the 382 has a 4". What does this mean to performance and spool time?
  19. Yeah the factory oil line was replaced when it went in for all the work 20k. what would spool up quicker: The mamba gtx 3584 or gtx3582r? http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/MAMBA-Ball-Bearing-Billet-Turbo4-GTX3582R-GT3582R-w-A-R-82-T3-V-Band-/282059838589?hash=item41ac13947d:g:gt8AAOSwuhhXVTcx
  20. Hey Guys, So this weekend my turbo has completely shat itself. Started making all sort of howling, and whistling noise and it just rattling badly.. I think I have been pretty unlucky with this one as its only done 69k kms but is run at 18psi daily and had decent power. Anyway onto the replacement, Ive been researching and have come up with the GTX3584R by MAMBA as a good replacement as it passes the price tickbox. I want to go bigger power and want something around low to mid 400's on pump 98. I also don't want to loose too much down low so I am hoping the spool is not too much worse then the standard GT 3576. Any advice guys? Really want to try and keep this replacement + tune under 2k if I can.

    Gtw3884R

That dyno graph looks impressive. Would be interesting to know what supporting mods it had and how high it could run on a e85 tune. I'm going to start saving my pennies. Maybe I just found my next Christmas present

How has the development of this turbo been coming along? How much longer until prices and specs are released?
  23. Any cruises coming up in the next month or two?
  24. An old post but thought I would add to it anyway. Ran 124mph @ 380rwkw
  25. 1/4 Time: 11.69 60ft: 1.90 mph: 124 tyes: Will check later but g6et 19" rims with street tyres rwkw: 380rwk Standard small turbo now holding me back!
