  1. What was the mph? With a terrible launch (spinning all through first) the best I could do with 350rwkw and running VERY cheap 235 tyres was a 12.2 with a 60' that I think started with a 2..... MPH was around the same as I get usually of 119. Good tyres would defo get the et down to high 11's.
  2. Yeah I know. I was just making a point that I can leave the line on boost and don't generally have to wait for it to build or kick in Midway through their gear like stock.
  3. I'm leaving on anything up to 10PSI as long as the track will hold it (well could go to I think about 16PSI but that's driveshaft twisting/input shaft breaking territory or it just does a burnout on the line....) - so I generally don't need to wait for boost once I've left. Usually leaving at about 2,800rpm and try and hold 2-4PSI. I feel like if I change early from 1st to 2nd early, the change is quite long and the decceleration jolt as it changes is quite severe.
  4. Genius! Why didn't I think of that! Will try your method on Sunday!
  5. I had an interesting experience on Friday. The track wasn't there and with small FGX turbo, the torque hits too hard in first and I just spin, even with Mickey Thompson drag radials on (albeit slightly worn). Thought I'd try starting in second. Worked well but felt like it was slipping all through second and a little in third. Not sure I like the idea of starting in second as I imagine it has to slip a little initially and seems to find it hard to lock up.... Anyone else tried launching in second?
  6. Would have thought the credits are to you (or whoever owned the car when it was tuned) and/or the physical ECU? Not locked to the tuner's account?
  7. How is the tune unlocked? Is it just a password to unlock?
  8. Just go back to tuner and say that you haven't named them but will name them and share your story and experience with the community and it won't look good for them.
  9. Why won't the tuner unlock it? What was their reasoning?
  10. Talk to PCMTec direct. Explain the situation and they should be able to help.
  11. Hey. So after turning up late and only getting one qualifying run in (11.8 ) I went straight into eliminations. After being knocked out early on in C2 class (Street car class, turbo 2wd. Must have rego and wof) by a stripped out R32 Skyline that is trailered to and from the track - so not really a street car..... Not that I'm bitter about it haha.... I didn't do any grudge racing to test the lower tune out. Soz!
  12. 300rwkw is going to be a tall order to break into the 11's - especially on street tyres. I'm running 350rwkw on E85 and on drag radials I'm "only" doing 11.5's @ 121mph (1.75sec 60'). Street tyres with 350rwkw I was doing 12.2's - albeit about the same 1.9-2.0sec 60' as when I was stock and running 12.9's as I was having trouble getting all that E85 torque to the ground haha I'm tuned with PCMTec and have another round of racing this Friday - at the end of the night I will put some street tyres on, choose the mid tune (which is about 300rwkw on E85) and let you know how I go
  13. I ran 12.9 bone stock on cheap 20" tyres and rims at Calder Park. Right lane. Stock tune I floored it hard on brakes and handbrake for a good 2-3 seconds. Revs wouldn't build much past 2k anyway.
  14. What's your 60'? 12.9 I'd what I ran bone stock. You should be about 12.4-12.5 at 300rwkw
  15. I doubt you'll do a 12.4 so don't worry about beating the Camaro I'd be surprised if you don't get faster than a 12.9. I ran a 12.9 on my bone stock (and with larger rims so worse for acceleration) FGX XR6T auto. From my understanding they only make around 220-230rwkw stock. I think you might be lucky to see 12.6 if you get a good launch. Let's see what the dyno comes back with first!
  16. 300rwkw will be fine. +400rwkw on E85, which allows more torque down low, can be risky on stock ZF at the track with drag radials. I'm 350rwkw on E85 and 300rwkw on 98 and both light up the rears easy if I try and stall it on the street.
  17. Out of curiosity, what's different in putting 700hp shafts in vs 1400?
  18. How long ago did you replace the turbo? Could be oil or other contaminants on bolts or turbo itself from when you installed it that will burn off over time?
  19. That is high. Even if that includes the springs, that's not a bargain. I had mine done for ~$660 incl springs.
  20. Ouch. Hope your tune is capable of handling that sort of boost!
  21. Hi all. I've put an engine oil cooler in the trans tunnel as location in pic.... I have a small fan I was going to put on the top. Should I push the air down through the cooler or pull it up? Cheers Hunt
