Barra build in the U.S.
SelectivePC replied to SelectivePC's topic in Conversions, transplants and Frankensteins
Oh yeah, I have built a plethora of RB's and 2JZ's so its pretty simple for me. And not too worried about the VCT stuff either, being its simple to VVTi also. Very excited to get the head back together though, and start assembly of the motor, then fab time for the chassis. -

Absolutely, lol. That's a hell of plane ticket though. Also I don't know what you'd be learning lol, I don't know anything about these motors, just learning as I go along. They were never offered here in the States, so theres not really a large following. -

Ok tiny update. Finally got my head back from the machine shop today, so reassembly should start sometime next week, when I find time. Just a decking to get rid of some witness marks from shipping directly on a pallet... Plans are to re-tap the service ports on the head for some NPT fittings, clean thoroughly and then start the reassembly of the head. Again sometime this week, once I find some time. I also received........thank you again Puffwagon !!!! He supplied me with the mid/rear sump oil pan I was worried about being able to find, and in a very timely manner as well, for being sent half way across the planet, not a shabby job at all. So time to put the rest of the motor back together and then start some Fab work on the chassis finally, to get it to all fit, should will be way easier now with the rear sump setup. Stay Tuned!!! -
BA Falcon NA + T Serious Backfire Issue

This is not a good thing, the cut sounds like a over boosting issue from a factory car that I drive. Basically if I made over 13psi, it would go into a bucking "bronco mod". And not want to get into boost, are you sure the waste gate lines are correctly installed and not backwards? -

Negative, I actually have gear sets from both the 4.6/5.4 and a 5.0 Coyote, all of them are just a bit different. But if you call Boundries they offer them. I dont believe they are on their website though. Would have been nice though as we are a vender for them and have those on the shelf.. :/ -

Yeah, I know I'm a little late into the game, but had to chance to get my self one over here, and decided to run with it. Waiting on parts is a bummer. But what can you do. Mace performance from AU has been a huge help with ordering parts. -
Hello all, finally got to start working on my newest project. A Barra 182, planning on fitting to a Toyota Chassis. I have heard tons about these motors from mostly YouTube videos (MCM, skid factory) so decided to go ahead and see about getting my self one. Its not the cool 242 motor, but if everything gets fitted correctly on this motor, One would be easy to swap over too. I currently am waiting for the head to come back from the machine shop. But have ordered most of the parts required to rebuild the motor, being it was shipped separated, as parts, and a little bit of damage occurred in the shipping process. Just a small nick, in the head but an easy fix, and should have it back by the end of next week. Ill figure out how to get some pictures posted here on the site, and stay updated once I get more stuff coming. If this needs to be moved to a build specific thread, can a Mod please do so, Thank you.
