  3. @k31th Hmm well I wasn't gonna bother with a tune if I had to buy the xcal box as well as that would end up costing over $1000. It's just going to be my tow car for my track car and dirt bike so I don't want to go too crazy on it. Do you think If I take it to JETURBO he can flash a tune straight onto my ecu? Was gonna hook up a OBD2 reader as a start and hopefully it throws a code or I'll have to start replacing parts.. Fuel pump, injectors, fuel press reg.

  6. @hopper8 Thanks mate he sounds like the guy to see, is there an easier way to contact him? Facebook? I also got this reply from someone on a BA/BF FB Page. "Yeah that's the site mate, and I dare say the thrust bearing would be the culprit to the other problem, and you have to dump the gearbox off, I'm pretty sure because the clutch thrust bearing fork is all internal, I pulled the intake pipe off and sprayed throttlebody cleaner into a clean microfiber cloth and that fixed mine but your case might be different, it's easier doing the clean first as it's the cheapest option, because it might be gummed up with carbon and the sensor will get a false setting, if not that, it's worth just replacing the accelerator pedal potentiometer, hope you fix the problem dude, let me know how it goes, and if it makes you feel any better I am a mechanic by trade, so I'm not half assing these opinions."
  7. Hmm well I'll get her up on the dyno and see what they can do for me, but if it needs a tune and I'm paying $600 odd for one I may aswell slap some injectors in and run it on E85/Flex. Should pull 300ish atw surely.
  8. @El Andrew Well I guess I'll just take it in somewhere get her up no the dyno and go from there. Not too sure where to take it yet. JETURBO hasn't replied to me yet. Honestly just want it running properly. Can you put a boost tee in? What's the max psi you can run before it fuel cuts?
  9. @skidxr6t Yeah I got a 300kw R32 I know how quick it should feel haha Yeah that's the plan for the future but atm I just want it running cause I have 4 cars at the moment. I bought it as a fun tow car for my dirt bike and track car. Yeah so basically I need to take it somewhere with a dyno and they can go over it and most likely work out the problem.. So with the exhaust, do you go 3" or 3.5"? atm I think its a twin system? Then front mount, bigger injectors (what ones do people go for?) , E85 (can you go flex fuel easily?) Atm its running stock intake piping with a pod filter. I want it to flutter like a mofo so I might keep it or try a CAI If its possible. I'd probably prefer a stock intake with high flow panel but it didn't come with the factory airbox.

  12. The first 2nd to 3rd gear pull is definitely way too slow. I've owned a stock ba xr6 non turbo and it felt quicker. Here is an uphill pull. 3rd gear WOT. It's barely going anywhere at 4300rpm. Sounds like its misfiring almost. @JETURBO @arronm Not too sure mate.

  14. @El Andrew It's not throwing any codes mate, but nah I don't have a scanner tool @k31th Yeah I figured as much. The Typhoon motor from a google images search comes up with "FPV" logo where as mine has Ford written on there. But yeah best to check the engine number when I get the chance. It's missing a rubber seal I think. No biggie. Yeah topped her up today, once she's rego'd I'll see if she loses fluid/overheats but it doesn't seem to do so. Nah mate it's 100% not running properly. I did multiple pulls and It just isn't making the power it should beyond 3200-3500. Uphills it literally has ~100kw. I will upload the video in a moment to show you. Ideally I need to take it in somewhere to get looked at, I'm located in SA not too sure where to take it yet. Yeah I understand that. I drove 15mins and it was on 0km and fuel gauge on empty. Put 7L in from a jerry (currently unreg) It should've budged by now. faulty gauge/sender whatever not too fussed I just want the old girl running the way she should! Video coming. I mean I'm pretty sure I just need to take it somewhere. It seems to be an issue that needs to be seen to be diagnosed. The issue could be anywhere. She is still holding boost as it pulls through the rev range. Here's a neutral rev. Doesn't seem like its as responsive as she should be. :(
  15. Thanks for the fast reply mate! Went up and went over her again today. First of all, I'd just like to confirm that it's not a typhoon motor? Bloke I bought it off was a compulsive liar so when he told me it was a typhoon motor I was pretty sure it wasn't. Here's a photo. I didn't know where to look for engine number but also found this. The dipstick doesn't seal properly and its a different number to whats on the front of the engine there. Also still no pressure in top rad hose when cars running is this normal? and I checked rad cap seems to be sealing fine. Basically the car has power up until about 3200rpm. Then it drops off from 200kw atw to about 100kw atw. and its a gradual decline around 3200-3500rpm mark. Car is boosting fine and holding boost (or so it seems, the boost gauge is faulty but it stays steady when WOT) I put 7L of 98 in the car, the car still said 0km range left. Would this possibly put the car in limp mode? There are no check engine lights just fuel light and 0km range. She's pretty clean aside from these issues at least. But yeah its definitely not making the power it should, and I can't get my head around whats stopping it... I want to send a video of a few pulls I did in the car but I can't work out how. I will upload them to youtube maybe? Any help is appreciated!
