    Spiked!

Hi Guys, wondering if anyone has had ecu troubles after having car tuned. No I have not used generic tunes. The ecu goes into limp mode intermittently. Have isolated the problem to the ecu, replaced with a second hand one, after a long drawn out process of diagnosing it. The car then retuned and the same shop and using the same xcal3. Am just wondering if this is a regular ocurrance, thought it would be pretty hard to spike these computers?
  4. Injectronics no good. It is 1 of their remanfactured pcm's that is in the faulty and wont cover it under warranty.
  5. yep only logs all servo codes. and the other scary bit is the car on occasions accelerates by its self while driving. Have managed to borrow a pcm. Put that in and haven't had any codes logged so far. But still need to find another pcm.
  6. yeah all wiring been checked, seems ok. It is a 4 speed auto
  7. Hi guys, hoping their is some tech heads out there that might be able to help. My pcm for a o3 xr6T has developed an issue which causes it to go into limp mode. It throws up all 6 trans servo fault codes at once. It has been at workshops and has most bet as to what causing the problem. They seem to think the common link between all servos is the common power supply from the pcm. The next problem I have is that Ford no longer stock new pcm for this model, and am having trouble finding one at a wreckers. Has anybody come across this issue before with a pcm? And any Ford techs out there any chance of having a look in your spare parts dept to see if the might have one? I'm chasing an ABU214 , serial number ending 32 HH this is the latest update but others previous letters are ok.
  8. There is heaps of series out there that have never seen the lite of day on our tellies. some of the ones I've been watching are: Hell on Wheels - set in the 1800's of America based around building the railroad Carnivale - about a travelling carni show. gets pretty twisted Secret Diary of a Call Girl - Billy Piper is Hot!! Walking Dead - zombie series Boardwalk Empire - I'm sure everyone heard of this 1 Grimm - Based around Tales of the brothers Grimm Game of Thrones - My all time favourite cant wait for series 3 There are heaps more out there, anybody recommend any other series??

  14. I have been reading through most posts, but cannot find a definitive answer to the question on when the stronger rods and valve springs were fitted. I know that it is said to be 6/06 onwards. But can anyone shed light on the engine serial number ranges? Also are BF xr6 turbo and Territory turbos the same serial number prefixes? Any light on the subject would be great?
  15. An Aussie all wheel drive turbo sedan is nothing new. For those that can remember, there is a VL Late model camira turbo 3.0lt that had GTR running gear fitted. Was a write up about in Street Machine many years ago. It was engineered, and made to look like it was factory fitted. was a bloody good job. It just depends on how much you really want to do something!
  16. Yeah, it was a great race track. But it's overseas, not in Australia. But I am finally over "V8 supercars" Triple 888 going to Expensive Daewoo just shows you how much alike both makes really are. It's not about how quicky 888 adapted, because they pretty much just swapped badges on the grill. Wincup didn't have to learn the car because it was the same package he drove in the ford bodyshell. The is so much parity between the cars now its not funny. Both have same diff, gearbox, front suspension, brakes, both cars are the same length, even though the Late model camira is longer on the show room floor. Both cars aero dynamic packages are designed to give the same down force, and both make the same horsepower and torque at the same rpm.

    Rear Brake Pads

After doing lots of searching, there was a lot of info on front pad choices, Ferodo DS2500, Bendix Ultimates. (Side topic- Has anyone used the Bendix Street/Road/Track pads for the front?) But there was no info on what pads to use in the rear? is there any advantage upgrading? What sort of reports are there on Ultimates, DS2500, DS2000? Or any other decent options?
  19. Do you think there is enough room to run the original air cleaner box and use the FG cross over?
  20. Does any body know if there is a filter in a FG xr6 turbo line? Or was Ford smart enough not to fit them?
  21. With the family on the increase, have been weighing up what to get to increase the boot space. eg Honda Odessy, Territory, Nissan Patrol. They all have their on really good features but not the power of a XR6T. Yes I know a Territory is a large XR6T but I'm not real keen on their rust issues. My question is does any one know why Ford did not make an XR6 turbo wagon? And why has the wagon range been dropped anyway?
  22. If the Bridgey was not that flash in the wet, out of the tyres tested what had the best wet braking tyre?
  23. I've got both 4speed auto, and 6speed auto.. And well.. Honestly, They don't compare to each other. in saying that, I don't favour one over the other. They both have pro's and cons on where they work the best, and I guess that works well for me in both situations. Headsex, what do you say are the pros and cons of the ZF box?
  24. Wondering if someone can advise on the fog light globes? Are they H1 or H3 and what wattage?
  25. What is the cc's of the FG xr6t injectors?
