  1. Hey all, currently upgrading to a G42 turbo and am wondering if I will need to run a Turbosmart Gen V Race Port Blow off Valve, I see some cars run them but unsure if it is necessary or not.
  2. Nah never figured it out, I’ve thrashed the car and raced it a few times with no issues at all. About to put a new turbo so going to go over the engine to check it as I never actually pulled it down when I bought it of the bloke who crashed their car. Once I pull it down I will post if I find anything, I’ve always thought it’s potentially timing gear related but not sure. Would you mind also putting a video of yours I wouldn’t mind comparing actually.
  3. I only have oil pressure, It sits around 50-55 on idle when cold and drops down to 25 when fully warmed up, Using ULX 20W-50 Oil.
  4. How’d you go, Find anything that could be the cause? Not so much a rattle, don’t really know how to explain the sound.
  5. Hey mate, this was probably one of the biggest I <3 Bananas arounds to date with my car. I melted my cradle 4 times trying to figure it out. I eventually gave up got a new cradle and ran power and earth straight into the standard plug I get good volts at the pump and have since had zero issues. Regarding the issue for the bulk heads though, I did find that it was always coming lose and drawing more, you need to make sure you are drilling the perfect size hole to let the inner seal from the bulkhead drop in and seal. At times it was not lose from the top, but once I pulled the cradle I noticed it had come lose from the bottom. If I could go back I would have done what I done now but after the first cradle.
  6. Can it be oil getting In there?
  7. Hey all, Just pulled the plugs for the first time since it’s been tuned which was around 2500k’s ago. It’s a built engine making just over 500rwkw. Just trying to figure out where to start looking to get to the cause of this.
  8. Hey all, thought I may aswell post in the same thread, That first sound has seemed to go away since I got the tune done. Now I have a different sound that I could always hear but couldn’t seem to hear to much in the first video. It doesn’t seem to affect anything in the aspect of how it drives, I’ve driven the car pretty hard with zero issues. Just wanting to know if it’s something people have heard before and have any insight on what it could be. This sound does go away after 2500rpm, the lower the idle the louder it is.
  9. CP Pistons Gaz how long does it last though?
  10. Hearing these responses is a big relief hah, mine lasts untill the temp gauge is just over quarter.
  11. Thank for the quick reply, ill check both things when I get home. Any reason to why it would go away with temp though?
  12. Hey, Have recently bought second hand engine of someone which has only around 4,000k's. On start up and when not up to temp I'm getting this noise in the video. Once up to temp the sound seems to disappear. This video was filmed when engine was fairly cold and on a very cold night. I have heard of forged engines being louder than normal on startup but did not except it to last so long. Also has a TBRE cam and has not been tuned yet. IMG_6588_(online-video-cutter.com).mp4
  13. I see around 20 at idle when car is warmed up, and cruising I think it’s around 50 and full throttle goes around 60.
  14. Yeah I am also abit worried, I kind of need to start it to ensure theirs no fuel leaks or anything wrong before I take it down. Do you think it’ll be okay to just start up? Are you mainly concerned about the drive to the tuner or starting in general? Also have a AFR gauge in the car.
  15. I’ve got a adjustable reg so I can bring the fuel pressure down if needed which I was hoping would be enough.
  16. Hey all, just bought a built engine with a stage one tbre cam, also have installed a surgetank with duel pierburgs (one is staged), planning on also getting a 4inch exhaust done. Main concern is will I be able to drive the car around to get the exhaust done and drive to the tuner?
  17. No worries at all man glad I could help [emoji106]
  18. Hey mate, this is what you need. https://www.autobox.com.au/oil-pressure-gauge-t-piece-adapter-ford
  19. No worries man let me know if you have any questions along the way [emoji106] I don’t think it’s needed because no one ever told me I had to do it, but I was not comfortable with how tight the filter was when it came together with the cradle so I trimmed this abit which gave me some play.
  20. Car made 440RWKW. Yeah Power and earth straight from the battery, put everything through passenger side firewall grommet then through passenger side kick panels. and relay and fuse is mounted in my first photo, Tapped into the original trigger wire for the relay. Fuse wasn't put in at the time of the photo it was put in just after. my brother is the wiring guru I just helped out man so can't comment to much on the difficulty but was all done in a day. That's including modifying cradle drilling the new holes to fit the bulkheads.
  21. You can drill out the standard reg, works fine for me[emoji106]
  22. Definitely should upgrade the wiring. Here’s how I did it works well. Only thing I changed from this photo is the earth to the seat belt buckle instead of next to the cap on the cradle.
