  5. I am pretty certain I have this problem!! Thanks heaps for the info, it is much appreciated!
  6. Yeah thanks, going alright - just glad my passenger and I are both fine. Was a tight left hander, much tighter than appears on the photo and as mentioned the rear end kept going until I was completely perpendicular to the road, and then it took a huge correction to avoid going off the left side of the road and into Port Phillip Bay, and the the subsequent flick back and I collected the embankment. Running the standard rims and and same tyres as standard I believe. Funny I checked the tread/inflation regularly but never double checked the brand/make - not as interested as I should've been I guess.
  7. water was running off an embankment...little sus though because it hadn't rained all day and the accident was in the evening. Was thinking it may have been a leaking pipe or similar as the water flowing and definitely more than just 'surface moisture' in places. Just a bit of a shock how quickly the car came unstuck....obviously it happened all very fast, but I think I must have just got on the accelerator (and probably boost) at the exact moment I hit the water and it was all over after that. Thanks for the sympathy and hopefully the car will be fine...or if a right off I'll be back with a similar beast!
  8. someone learnt this the hard way just a few hours ago....not sure of the extent of the damage yet, but I am guessing it will be a decent amount. Wasn't speeding, on a dry but windy road, went over this running water and lost traction and sideways into an embankment...on closer inspection the water was more substancial than I thought. Obvious message here is be careful. I consider myself a safe driver, but tonight I learnt that the scenario can take the situation out of your control very quickly. I also learnt that a big heavy BA turbo is a hard car to catch when it becomes loose (well for me it was anyway)
  9. and another (possibly stupid) question...my car, ba mk1 turbs, is out of warranty will I be charged even though it is a TSB?
  10. should also mention I was veru happy with the service I received from hp-f
  11. Got the problem sorted first thing this morning as promised. The hp-f guys said it was because the code on the cars orginal ecu was entered into the flash box incorrectly (it was dirty). Anyway, now it drives beautifully and is quick! The biggest thing I have noticed about the flash upgrade is how much smoother and quieter the engine seems to run around town. FYI: car is a manual, and I had the spark plugs regapped as recommend.
  12. yeah, hopefully all sorted tomorrow morning!! Thanks for your replys Doing the typhoon intake thing on the weekend as well, so I should be smiling even more come monday!! Cheers Ben
  13. thanks, sounds like that may be happening. Horsepower factory supplied the unit. I contacted them and they were very sorry and said it would be fixed first thing in morning when I drop it back. So I am not angry or anything, just curious as to why this would happen.
  14. would that cause it to still cut out at 4000rpm when I was reving while in neutral? thanks
  15. G'day guys, picked up my new flash box today with preloaded tunes 1. valet tune 2. 95oct ~8psi tune 3. 98oct ~10psi tune Started driving on tune 3 and got to some open road and gave her a bit and it felt like I hit a brick wall at 4000rpm (first time hitting a ford redline)...tried again = same result. In neutral 4000rpm cut out. Needless to say I loaded all the other maps and the same thing happened at 4000rpm...weird. Haven't yet loaded the factory tune back in to check that though. I have spoken the workshop that sold me the box and it will be sorted out first thing, but I am wondering if anyone has any thoughts on this?? Tunes 2 and 3 were different below the 4000rpm limit so I suggest something has been loaded.... Cheers Ben p.s. got my turbs 3 weeks ago and loving it!! I'll get a custom tune shortly...I know I know!!
