  1. I though Nizpro designed there own and then get them made, they have never said what they used
  2. I would have think that is if you used Atomic parts your result would either be the same or worse than a complete atomic engine. They will give you the specs to use and the result will be the same. It sounds like you should go and get Autotech Engineering or Nizpro to supply you an engine as they seem to have happy customers or you could repeat what other have done and end up with you money in the bin, sounds like Atomic by name Atomic by nature, boom!!!

This has been a little miss reporting so I believe, there is talk of every 100,000 kms for the bores and there is also some talk around that a non offical lap time of 7.21 has been set with a proto type V spec already but until the specs are confirmed it is not a factory road car. This version was aroud the 420 kw mark
  4. Cam prices will greatly depend on what you start with. If you decide to regrind the standard ones yes they may be around the 800 to 1000 bucks plus fitting but you would them need to shim the lifters to get them back to a correct postion. These cams will also be only a little different to standard. You could them get them welded and ground so the cam would have the same base circle diameter, these will be around the 1500 bucks and then there would be no need to shim the lifters but the cams have a higher rate of failure due to the xr6t engine running a roller rocker/lifter. Lastly you can start with a billet blank and get it ground.This is the best. Being able to be ground to any spec, factory reliable with what ever base circle you like. Prices for blanks start at about 1500 plus grinding about 800 plus fitting. So like always you get what you pay for and if blanks are used 2000 to 3000 is spot on the money
  5. I was there many years ago when Simon tested this on the engine dyno back to back it made 1 engine hp in the mid range with the divider removed so you would have to say Zero result. This was in n/a form
  6. Close in temp is not the end of it.Pressure drop is important as the less drop with the best cooling allows the turbo not to have to work as hard this then help exhaust temp as well. The quality of the kit and pipe work also needs to be looked at no point having a cooler that works great that the pipe work rubs the bonnet and the hose's blow off all the time. Correct fitting with the least amont of body work modifaction is important as some of us want to return our cars to standard when we trade them in. A great cooler is one thing but I dont care how good or cheap it is if you end up looking like a vl Late model camira with the intercooler hanging out the the grille and pipe work that looks like it was designed at a Bunnings store

Danny I guess this is why Nizpro use a thermostatically controlled water to air intercooler on their engine dyno when doing calabrations for these and other engines.This is so they can map the engine at a constant air temp and once fiished go back and check all different air temps and the amount of ignition timing correction that is needed. I believe they also can do this for both the water and oil temp as well. I doubt you will see this on a chassis dyno but Mario's sound very good.

Brett ring nizpro on tuesday but I'am sure you can buy the intercooler kit ,comes with rubber molded pipe and a intake manifold kit, comes with all nuts,studs and wiring.There is only 2 holes to be drilled for intercooler no cutting of any panel work and the intake manifold fits straight on the bottom half with only the end holes needing to be opened up to 8mm,these holes have threads in them,the new manifold used studs instead of bolts

They were XR6T and XR8 ecu's as far as I understand it he can do live tuning to XR6T'S but cant save the file to the CAPA software so the flash box just stores the live tune file as the standard car file that you cannot edit with the flash box so the flash box become useless.He has been working on this for 4 months and the progress with the race engine tuning live can carry across to to XR6T.

It is the exhaust spring that floats first due to the extra back pressure that is caused from raising the boost level,a typical rule of thumb is that the back pressure will get close to double boost pressure,if the back pressure holds the exhaust valve open the lifter pumps up and causes the valve to stay open.This is why you can hear the engine pop in the exhaust.
  12. Adam I know they used MOTEC on the xr6t engine on the engine dyno but this was on Simons 6.0 litre quad turbo ski race engine it was a Ford ECU and he was tuning it LIVE. In fact it was a pair of genuine ford ecu,s one for boost control and one eletric throttle and the other for the other throttle along with the 8 injectors and coils.
  13. It is possible to run the standard ecu without the rest of the car .Nizpro have them running on there engine dyno and I have even seen them live tuning the factory ecu on their engine dyno. Forget after market they just do not have enough control over the Drive by wire or can controll. Ring Nizpro

  15. May be if your current tuner cannot fix it or does not know what the problem is you should give Blacktrack ago it appears they can fix the problem and it may save you stacks of time
