Have a look in the Ford 4.0l N/A Discussion thread as there is a couple threads in there that has build ups of the xr6t and xr8 sysytems on the n/a 6, I have done one with pacies and hi flo cat and it works well and I did the whole thing from motor to tip for $331. I have also put a thread in this section as well about my n/a exhaust build with an xr8 exhaust. I have put some sound on the thread in the 4.0l discussion so you can get a basic idea what type of sound comes out. This is probably one of the best bang for your buck mods you can do and they fit straight in the only mod you have to do is the bit between the cat and centre flange which any exhaust shop should be able to do. if you want any more help dont hesitate to drop a pm. Cheers Jason

Undo the clips on the box take the rear bolt on the bracket and undo the clamp on the throttle body whole thing lifts off in one peice, omly takes about a minute longer than normal. Sorry guys not set up to manufacture these off the bat, no welder etc would be good though extra money coming in and helping fellow ford people out as they would be cheaper than most other places. Cheers Jason

G'day all, got the go ahead to go for a run out to willowbank to the test and tune on the 17/02/07, have just organised to finalise the bits and pieces I wanted to put on such as the underdrive, power stat ,shift kit and full service. So this will be the result runs from all the work put in that I have been talking about for god knows how long. As standard I got a 16.2 over the 1/4 so I am hoping to drop well within the 15's, and if I have researched right the 14's all without a flash tune or edit. I would like to see if anyone else was looking to go out for a run. Anyway we will see what happens I may be hopeful on the times I want to get but as long as I get to race and the burnouts are good ones I will be having fun anyway. Cheers Jason

Thanks Doogs, Mate ya gotta do what ya gotta do to be able to go fast no matter what money is available. Was a big job as it originally was about 6 pieces that had to match up and cut the angles and make sure it was not hitting anywhere. After god knows how long I got it the way I wanted and stuck it together with liquid metalso I could pass it on to a mate for welding. I wish I could take credit for the welding but a mate did that for me as I dont have a welder handy if I did I would cranking these things out. I got him to weld and then I just cleaned up all the welds with a grinder sand paper and a right arm that's slowly getting bigger. Thanks for the comments guys.Cheers Jason

Like the hard at work quote, each part so far has taken plenty of hours to get it just the way I want but enjoying every minute, dyno will eventually, I much prefer the 1/4 mile dyno more fun.
-
I havent got any dyno results or anything but by the seat of my pants dyno I reckon between 8 - 15 kw with the pod in box and lower intake hole as well. in any case it gets up and goes a lot better than it did with the standard intake piping.
-
Hey all, Just thought I would whack a pic of my finally finished intake pipe, made out of mild steel, I cut and angled each of the bends to make the 180 degree curve as tight as possible without loosing the curve too much. I did get one made but it hit the bonnet and intake manifold so I have re done it using off cuts from an exhaust shop throw bin so in effect this one has cost nothing, works well better throttle response coupled with pod and extra air intake, and induction note up quite a bit. Just thought I would post it up in case other N/A guys were wondering what to do and how. Cheers

What about a group buy on 1. Flash Tunes 2. Stallies 3. Covers(computer etc) 4. Each state group buy on Car detailing (outside the box) 5. Exhausts 6. Ford memoribilia such as shirts caps etc 7. Piping kits 8. Plenums Just different ideas might not be able to get if they happen but just ideas as the under drive one was great. cheers Jason

Yeah I am, Northside at kallangur, would love to dyno the car but want to do some more first ,I am not one to do abit then dyno bit more and dyno, much rather go for a big difference show up on the dyno screen, where bouts are you and ez2cme are in brissy?. Let me know when and where steve I might drop down and see how the dyno thing works never actually done one. I only know that RDP do dyno's at redcliffe not sure how much. My little may be at the dyno day at RDP as he works for QLD streetcar and a couple of other mags, last issue of Qld S/C he had a hnad in writing and photographing approx 90% of the magazine, mite see if he is doing the day. Cheers Jason

Sounds good, nice car 2, can hear a touch of a difference between them, but the twin xr6t/xr8 xhaust definatley sounds the goods and works well did you get much power difference when you put yours on?
-
That would be good, I have heard a couple but in each case they sound different
-
Thanks to all for your comments, camc88, the induction noise on tis day was fro the standard intake pipe as I took the 3 inch pipe off to clean it up, only had the pod in the box, as I have said before this was the first time I heard my car with a bit of ummphh behind it and if the induction is great now must be brilliant with the full intake on. I love both the induction as the car comes up and the exhaust as it goes past. Damn I want to do a drags run to get some comparison from when I started to now. But cant rush still got the underdrives and power stat and full service to do plus a couple bling bits, I am also thinking of doing a cai intake system close to the g&d type as I have heard that it works well and mite give me some kw.

Pacies, magnaflo 3 ich cat into the xr8 exhaust. Power gains were good, picks up well from around 2500 to 3000 grand alot more pull, today bit slugish as it fairly hot here in Qld at the moment and humid.

We moved recently 2 k up the road, sold our house and had one day to move everything, sett happened on the thursday couldnt get the keys to the new place till the wednesday before. Big day. Me + 1 mate for half the day and a 6 x4 box trailer. The wife and I packed for 2 weeks prior, come the wednesday morning had trailer on ready to go with firstload dropped rounfd at r/e to get keys and then the rest of the day for me was drive unload drive load drive unload. All the heavy stuff done by 11.30am and then my mate had to go to work then I kept going till about 9.30pm. My wife had to look after the 2 kids with one teething constantly at the moment that itself wasnt easy. Was buggered and after 11-12 trips with definatley an overloaded 6 x 4 boxy I was definatley overit. I could not believe how much crap we had, but at least I saved on removalist fees

I have some ba ute rims that are 16 x 6.5 in in size can I fit 225/45 tyres onto these, they are purely for drags and driving to an from on and only used occasionly? Any replies appreciated
-
If I did this would it be a power gaining exercise and would the car haved to be edited as I assume it would be a intake modification of more air in What types of gains would I expect if it was a power gaining mod. Cheers Jason
-
Ok, wil have to get you to explain that one not much experience with the manifold, had to learn the whole car again, last modded car I had had a carby and no computers. Cheers Jason
-
