I have just picked the rear section from a dual exit falcon cant remember which model had them, for nothing so gunna put them on my N/A with pacies I already have ,metal cat twin xr8 system take the centre muffler out put in twin resonaters and up over the diff into the dual exit muffler system dont know what tips yet I like them to be big just dont know how big.

Bit of advice watch what you are told by exhaust shops, I put a xr8 twin 2.25 inch systm on my car, beforehand I rang around 3-4 places and was told a lot of things why they wouldnt put it on, one said that the car would not physically go over 60 klm an hour glad top say that didnt happen. Cheapest and probably best set up is either a xr6t or xr8 system with a metal cat and pacies either 4490 or 4495 comp headers the twin 2.25 inch pipes give you a total area that equates to a single 3.18 inch pipe so flow is better, to go one step further put 2 resonators in where the centre muffler is equals more flow. for $800, you should be able to get the whole exhaust one this way. good luck with it
  5. Nah mate, plastic primed, and the colour is the car colour, mercury silver, then hit with a few layers of clear, Alot of people have mentioned about smoothing the ripples out of the cover but I like the textured look it gives off.
  6. I know its not in a engine bay yet but this is my new engine I have detailed and polished and painted everything myself so far cant wait to get it in, it is a bf 190 that I am putting into my BA XT Started with this Currently looks like this Will be going in this Replacing this
  7. Did you have to cut or extend any wiring or did it just feed back thru the hole it came into the engine bay. Cheers for the help Jason
  8. Nice mate one question the computer from the engine bay where did you hide that, did u put it inside the car and just ran eletricals needed thru the original hole in firewall?

  10. Ok maybe problem 1 Come from a Bf with 6 speed manual. Still have the computer plus the complete wiring from the whole car including the engine and trans wiring
  11. Tips on little go fast bits I can add to the motor like polishing or porting heads tricks with T/B's things like that would be much appreciated as well

Morning all, as the heading suggest I have recently acquired a very low K BF Barra 190 N/A 6 motor complete, So considering this Barra 190 has done approx 150000 k's less my Barra 182 motor it would be silly not to change over. Question What would be involved and needed for the change over? The power output would be better being a Barra 190 as straight off I will have the extra 8kw then if we add all the mods that will definatley go higher than what it is now. Would I have to use the BF computer or will it connect straight up to the BA computer? I also picked up a 3.45 LSD as well so that will go in at the same time replacing the 3.23 so I will have a little gain there, all this will take a bit as I still have to clean and detail the motor, paint and polish some bits and pieces. While we have the motor out I am also considering if I should upgrade to a higher stall converter gotta try and sneak that in somehow, what is people recommendations. Any feedback would be good Cheers Jason
  13. Have spoken to ford confirmed 6 speed manual from BF will mount up behind the BA ,if going from auto need crossmember and wiring loom which mine will come with, and a clutch of course which I may sell as a whole package.
  14. The Xr6T and Xr8 boxes are different design apparently as per ford themselves, the BF 6 speed manual N/A6 will fit the BA N/A 6, and are stronger than the 5 speeds. I will be selling one soon with the crossmember and maybe clutch, Cheers Jason

G'day all, ove time I have been doing a build on my BA XT N/A 6 it has taken roughly 12 months and below is a list of what I have done and how much it cost me and also I approx cost of the same tobuy new or get some do build for me so retail price. I have had a very limited budget to work with as most of us do. So hopefully this ill give some of you guys an idea on how to get things done without a huge budget. Results Bit dissappionting but I have buggered in one area that made it impossible to tune the car correctly and that is the 160 degree thermostat, it is to low. for the mods I have done going by the conversion chart I have approx 163kw at th rear wheels now which is about 218.4hp and before the rdp computer it was around 159kw or 214hp at the rears But I was told because of the thermostat I have alot of power there that is being wasted so I will change back to standard and get another dyno done one day and tune so it can be tune more accuratley as it really buggered the fuel mixtures and so up bad. Capa flash tune is new performance programs that are reset through the BA computer when loaded it helps things like air fuel ratios and a whole heap of other stuff, the induction is thh air in and air out, the quiker you get air in through the air induction or in old terms the air filter the better and then the quiker you get it out through a non restrictive exhaust the better makes the engine breath better. this is just a quik summary As for buying a T I know after all mods are done the N/A 6 will never be as fast as the T but giving the way things are going the N/a is definatley gettin faster and giving the T boys something to think about.

  21. ended up with 10 runs and this was tthe best Kinda dissappionting as I do have the speed it is the 60 foot that buggers me 60 ft = 2.475 330ft= 6.903 660ft= 10.297 1000ft= 13.156 Et = 15.571 MPH= 93.36 temp 20 degrees t temp 30 degrees http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7vVPbNen9N0 As sam said the burnouts where good and I will load pics later, tried everything to get off the line quiker, per mode, per mode with shift kit, manual mode , manual mode with shift kit.Different stall speeds,1500,1700 flat out. Looks like I have to diff and maybe stallie we'll see. going by the mph I should be around the 14.7 to 14.9 mark, please clarify if you can anyone. At least I got down from the standard 16.28 to now a 15.571 for still under $1000, and the car I think has proven it has a sh##load more in it I just gotta get it going faster off the line Cheers Jason

  23. It was thrown in with the headers when I bought them so I used it it is twice the size compred to the standard xt scoop, I colour coded as leaving it balck looked crap, so really it is on there for mechanical value, I am not into what was tickford and not.
  24. Heatproof to 300 degrees just spray can stuff from autobarn
  25. Colour is anodized purple and is actually darker than in the photos did have them Lightning blue like a ford blue light, but that stood out way too much and I didnt want to go the normal maroon or something dark so this was the best compromise for me.
